Description
本発明は、原料パルプを含有するパルプスラリーに、填料がカチオン性樹脂によって水中に分散されている填料分散液を添加する填料分散液添加工程と、前記填料分散液添加工程後のパルプスラリーに歩留り剤を添加する歩留り剤添加工程と、を有することを特徴とする紙の製造方法である。
以下、各工程について説明する。
原料パルプを含有するパルプスラリーに、カチオン性樹脂により填料が水中に分散している填料分散液を添加する工程である。
前記原料パルプとしては、バージンパルプ等においては勿論のこと、古紙再生パルプを用いることができる。パルプの種類としては、例えば、新聞古紙、雑誌古紙、チラシ古紙、段ボール古紙やシュレッダーダスト等脱墨古紙パルプや砕木パルプ、リファイナグランドパルプ、サーモメカニカルパルプ、ケミサーモメカニカルパルプ等の機械パルプ、亜硫酸パルプ、ソーダパルプ、クラフトパルプ、塩素法パルプ等の化学的パルプ、ケミカルパルプ、ケミグランドパルプ等の機械的、化学的パルプなどを挙げることができる。また、パルプの原木としては、エゾマツ、トドマツ、アカマツのような針葉樹や、ブナ、ポプラ、カバのような広葉樹などを挙げることができる。これらのパルプは2種以上組み合わせて用いることができる。パルプスラリー中のパルプ濃度は0.2〜2.0質量%であることが好ましい。
填料分散液の調合方法としては、特に制限はなく、例えば、最初に水中に粉末状の填料を投入し、攪拌機等を用いて均一に分散させることにより、水性スラリーを調製する。その後カチオン性樹脂を填料分散液に添加し、一定時間攪拌することで填料分散液が調製する方法を挙げることができる。なお、分散させる方法は、公知のいずれの方法を用いても良い。
この工程は分散液添加工程にて得られたパルプスラリーに歩留り剤を配合し、製紙原料スラリーを得る工程である。
本発明に係る歩留り剤とは、水とカチオン性樹脂またはアニオン性樹脂を含有するものである。歩留り剤中に含有するカチオン性樹脂またはアニオン性樹脂のいずれか1種を選択して使用することができるが、分散液添加工程により得られたパルプスラリー中に含まれる填料やパルプ等の各種成分、この混合溶液の物性等に応じてカチオン性樹脂またはアニオン性樹脂の中から適宜選択すればよい。なお、カチオン性樹脂、アニオン性樹脂は、単独で用いてもよいし、2種以上を組み合わせて用いてもよい。
なお、アニオン性樹脂の場合の電荷密度は、メチルグリコールキトサン溶液(和光純薬株式会社製、商品名「メチルグリコールキトサン溶液(N/200)」)を添加後、過剰分をポリビニル硫酸カリウム(和光純薬株式会社製、商品名「ポリビニル硫酸カリウム滴定液(N/400)」を用いたコロイド滴定法により求められた数値を指す。
以下、本発明の紙の製造方法につき実施例を用いて具体的に説明するが、本発明の紙の製造方法はこれらの実施例によって限定されるものではない。
なお、実施例、参考例及び比較例の製紙原料スラリー及び得られた紙については、製紙原料スラリーの歩留り性(全歩留りと填料歩留り)、濁度について評価した。これらの項目については、以下の方法により評価した。
水中に粉末状の填料を30質量%濃度となるように添加し、攪拌機を用いて毎分500回転で均一に分散させて水性スラリーを得て、このスラリーにカチオン性樹脂を添加し、5分間攪拌することで填料分散液を得た。
次いで、パルプ成分3.2質量%濃度のパルプ含有懸濁液を白水で希釈し、スラリー濃度1.0質量%のパルプスラリーを調製した。白水とは紙の製造工程にて循環使用される水のことをいう。このパルプスラリーをブリット式ダイナミックドレイネージジャーテスター(40メッシュのスクリーンとタービン翼を備えた撹拌機を装備。以下、「ブリットジャー」と略す。)に入れた後、撹拌機を用いて毎分1200回転にて撹拌しながら、20秒経過後に前記填料分散液をパルプ成分に対して10質量%濃度で添加し、30秒経過後、0.01質量%濃度の歩留り剤を添加し、さらに15秒撹拌し、製紙原料スラリーを
得た。なお、填料の種類と填料に添加したカチオン性樹脂の種類と添加割合、歩留り剤に含有される樹脂の種類と添加割合は表1、表2に記載したものである。填料添加工程に記載の添加割合は、填料に対するカチオン性樹脂の割合を指す。一方、歩留り剤添加工程に記載の添加割合は、パルプ成分に対する歩留り剤中に含有されるカチオン性樹脂またはアニオン性樹脂の割合を指すものである。
パルプスラリーの撹拌速度を毎分1200回転から800回転に代えた以外は実施例1と同様にして製紙原料スラリーを調製した。なお、填料の種類と填料に添加したカチオン性樹脂の種類と添加割合、歩留り剤に含有される樹脂の種類と添加割合は表3に記載したものである。
前記製紙原料スラリー100mlをワットマンNo.4濾紙を用いて濾過し、得られた濾液を110℃で60分間乾燥し、乾燥後の質量を測定することにより、全歩留り(%)を求めた。また、乾燥後の濾紙を550℃で2時間加熱したときの灰分より、填料歩留り(%)を測定した。
前記製紙原料スラリーを撹拌機で撹拌したまま下穴から50mlを採取し、ワットマンNo.4濾紙にて吸引濾過し、その濾液についてJIS K0101によりホルマジン濁度を測定した。この濁度は、歩留り、薬剤、ピッチ成分の定着性を評価するためのものであり、この値が小さいほど歩留りが高く、薬剤、ピッチ成分の定着率が高いものであることを意味する。

カチオン性樹脂C−1:アクリルアミド−アクリロイルオキシエチルトリメチルアンモニウムクロリド共重合体(粘度平均分子量2000万、電荷密度2.0meq/g)
アニオン性樹脂D−1:アクリルアミド−アクリル酸ナトリウム共重合体(粘度平均分子量2000万、2.0meq/g)
アニオン性樹脂D−2:アクリルアミド−アクリル酸ナトリウム共重合体(粘度平均分子量1200万、電荷密度2.0meq/g)
アニオン性樹脂D−3:アクリルアミド−アクリル酸ナトリウム共重合体(粘度平均分子量900万、電荷密度2.0meq/g)
アニオン性樹脂D−4:アクリルアミド−アクリル酸ナトリウム共重合体(粘度平均分子量700万、電荷密度2.0meq/g)

Claims (4)
- 原料パルプを含有するパルプスラリーに、カチオン性樹脂により填料が水中に分散している填料分散液を添加する填料分散液添加工程と、前記填料分散液添加工程後のパルプスラリーに、歩留り剤を添加する歩留り剤添加工程と、を有する紙の製造方法であって、
前記カチオン性樹脂が、エピハロヒドリン−アルキルアミン共重合体であって、
前記歩留り剤が、粘度平均分子量が1000万以上であるカチオン性またはアニオン性樹脂を含有することを特徴とする紙の製造方法。 - 前記填料分散液中の前記カチオン性樹脂の粘度平均分子量が3000〜100万の範囲である請求項1に記載の紙の製造方法。
- 前記填料分散液中の前記カチオン性樹脂の電荷密度が5.0meq/g以上である請求項1または2に記載の紙の製造方法。
- 前記歩留り剤が、電荷密度が0.6〜4.9meq/gの範囲であるカチオン性またはアニオン性樹脂を含有する請求項1〜3の何れか一項に記載の紙の製造方法。
