Description
<正極>
正極には、二酸化マンガン(触媒):42.35質量部と、ケッチェンブラック(カーボン):42.35質量部と、PTFE:10質量部と、銀ニッケル酸化物(AgNiO2):5.3質量部と、水とを混合し、ロール圧延して触媒層用のシートを形成し、このシートをステンレス網(集電体)に圧着させてから乾燥し、触媒層の大きさが30mm×30mmとなり、一端に集電体の露出部を有する形状に打ち抜いた。更に、前記集電体の露出部にニッケルのリード線を溶接して、全体の厚みが300μmの正極(空気極)を作製した。
添加元素としてIn:500ppm、Bi:400ppmおよびAl:10ppmを含有する亜鉛合金粒子をカルボキシメチルセルロースの水溶液に分散させて負極用のペーストを作製した。次に、一端を圧縮して導電タブを形成したニッケル製の発泡基材(集電体)の空孔内に、前記ペーストを充填して乾燥させ、軽くプレスした後に、ペーストが充填された部分(負極合剤層)が30mm×30mmの大きさとなるよう切断し、前記導電タブにニッケルのリード線を溶接することにより負極を作製した。
電解液には、質量基準で200ppmとなる量の水酸化インジウムを溶解した35質量%濃度の水酸化カリウム水溶液を用いた。
セパレータには、ポリエチレン主鎖にアクリル酸をグラフト共重合させた構造を有するグラフト共重合体で構成された2枚のグラフトフィルム(厚み:30μm)を、セロハンフィルム(厚み:20μm)の両側に配置し、更にビニロン−レーヨン混抄紙(厚み:100μm)を積層したものを用いた。
撥水膜には、厚みが200μmのPTFE製シートを用いた。
ステンレス鋼箔の外面にPETフィルムを有し、内面に熱融着樹脂層としてポリプロピレンフィルムを有する5cm×5cmの大きさのステンレスラミネートフィルム2枚を外装体として用いた。
直径1mm(面積:0.785mm2)の空気孔16個を、縦7mm×横7mmの等間隔(空気孔同士の中心間距離は8mm)で規則的に形成した以外は実施例1と同様にして、シート状空気電池を作製した。この電池における比a/bは、0.0140であった。
直径1mm(面積:0.785mm2)の空気孔25個を、縦5.25mm×横5.25mmの等間隔(空気孔同士の中心間距離は6.25mm)で規則的に形成した以外は実施例1と同様にして、シート状空気電池を作製した。この電池における比a/bは、0.0218であった。
直径1mm(面積:0.785mm2)の空気孔36個を、縦4.2mm×横4.2mmの等間隔(空気孔同士の中心間距離は5.2mm)で規則的に形成した以外は実施例1と同様にして、シート状空気電池を作製した。この電池における比a/bは、0.0314であった。
直径1mm(面積:0.785mm2)の空気孔1個を外装体の中央部に形成した以外は実施例1と同様にして、シート状空気電池を作製した。この電池における比a/bは、0.00087であった。
直径1.7mm(面積:2.27mm2)の空気孔3個を、一辺が20mmの正三角形の頂点に位置するよう(空気孔同士の中心間距離は18.3mm)に形成した以外は実施例1と同様にして、シート状空気電池を作製した。この電池における比a/bは、0.0076であった。
負荷特性
実施例および比較例の各シート状空気電池について、空気孔を大気に暴露してから10分間放置した後、負極活物質量から計算した電池の設計容量に対して10時間率相当の電流で1.0Vまで放電した時の放電容量の割合を算出した。
実施例および比較例の各シート状空気電池(未放電のもの)について、空気孔を解放した状態で60℃90%RHの環境に1日間暴露した後、20℃60%RHの環境にて2mAの電流で1.0Vの電圧まで放電した時の容量を測定し、負極活物質量から計算した電池の設計容量に対する割合を算出した。

Claims (3)
- 負極の両面に、それぞれ、セパレータ、正極および撥水膜が積層されてなる電極体と、電解液とが、樹脂フィルム製のシート状外装体の内部に収容されてなるシート状空気電池であって、
前記正極は、触媒を含有する触媒層を有しており、
前記外装体の両面には、前記正極に空気を取り込むための空気孔が複数設けられており、
前記空気孔は、いずれも面積が2mm2以下であり、
前記外装体の片面における全空気孔の合計面積をa(mm2)とし、外装体の当該面側に配置された正極における触媒層の面積をb(mm2)としたとき、前記外装体のいずれの面においても、0.0079≦a/b≦0.0140を満たしていることを特徴とするシート状空気電池。 - 前記空気孔を格子状に配置した請求項1に記載のシート状空気電池。
- 隣接する空気孔同士の間隔が、10mm以下である請求項1または2に記載のシート状空気電池。
