Description
2H2O→O2+4H++4e−、1.23V(vs.RHE)
が必要不可欠であるが、反応効率が悪いため、水の酸化反応を促進する触媒が求められてきた。このような水の酸化触媒としては、従来から、酸化コバルト、酸化ルテニウム、酸化イリジウム等の酸化物が知られている。
前記Fe以外の金属元素が、周期表第4〜12族に属するFe以外の3d及び4d遷移金属元素並びにAl元素からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の金属元素であり、
前記Fe以外の金属元素とFe元素との原子比(Fe以外の金属元素/Fe元素)が0.001〜0.5であり、
下記条件(A)及び(B)の両方を満たす鉄化合物粒子からなることを特徴とするものである。
(A)X線回折により測定された結晶子径が1〜60nmである。
(B)溶媒中において動的光散乱法により測定された平均粒子径が1〜600nmである。

(B)溶媒中(好ましくは水中)において動的光散乱法により測定された平均粒子径が1〜600nmである。
ビーカー中で、FeCl3・6H2O(27.30g、101mmol)とZn(NO3)2・6H2O(1.25g、4.20mmol)とをイオン交換水(500ml)に溶解し、Feイオン濃度が0.2mol/Lの金属イオン含有原料水溶液(原料溶液A)を調製した。また、ビーカー中で、イオン交換水で1/2に希釈したエチレンジアミン溶液(11ml)をイオン交換水(500ml)に溶解し、中和剤含有原料水溶液(原料溶液B)を調製した。原料溶液AとBとをビーカー中で、室温(25℃)下、撹拌子を用いたマグネティックスターラー(回転速度:400rpm)で混合しながら30分間撹拌し、鉄化合物のコロイド溶液を作製した。pHメーターを用いて、得られたコロイド溶液のpHを測定したところ、2.2であった。
Zn(NO3)2・6H2Oの代わりにCo(NO3)2・6H2O(1.22g、4.19mmol)を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様にして鉄化合物のコロイド溶液を作製した。得られたコロイド溶液のpHは2.2であった。
Zn(NO3)2・6H2Oの代わりにNi(NO3)2・6H2O(1.21g、4.16mmol)を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様にして鉄化合物のコロイド溶液を作製した。得られたコロイド溶液のpHは2.2であった。
Zn(NO3)2・6H2Oの代わりにMn(NO3)2・6H2O(1.21g、4.22mmol)を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様にして鉄化合物のコロイド溶液を作製した。得られたコロイド溶液のpHは2.4であった。
Zn(NO3)2・6H2Oの代わりにCrCl3・6H2O(1.21g、4.54mmol)を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様にして鉄化合物のコロイド溶液を作製した。得られたコロイド溶液のpHは2.5であった。
Zn(NO3)2・6H2Oの代わりにAl(NO3)2・9H2O(1.56g、4.16mmol)を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様にして鉄化合物のコロイド溶液を作製した。得られたコロイド溶液のpHは2.4であった。
Zn(NO3)2・6H2Oを用いなかった以外は、実施例1と同様にして鉄化合物のコロイド溶液を作製した。得られたコロイド溶液のpHは2.4であった。
Hyperfine Interact、2014年、第224巻、第239〜250頁に記載の方法に従って、Coドープβ−FeOOH粉末を調製した。すなわち、精製水(100ml)中に、FeCl3・6H2O(2.69g、9.95mmol)、CoCl2・6H2O(0.298g、1.25mmol)及び尿素(2.40g、40.0mmol)を添加し、室温(25℃)下、撹拌子を用いたマグネティックスターラー(回転速度:400rpm)で10分間撹拌して溶解させた。pH試験紙を用いて、得られた溶液のpHを測定したところ、約1であった。この溶液をテフロン(登録商標)製の容器に移し、密閉後、70℃の温度下に48時間放置した。生成した沈殿物をろ過により回収し、精製水を用いてろ過洗浄を何度も繰り返した。得られた固体成分を40℃で48時間乾燥させた後、乳鉢で粉砕して鉄化合物粉末を得た。
ビーカー中で、Ni(NO3)2・6H2O(1.25g、4.20mmol)をイオン交換水(500ml)に溶解し、Niイオン含有原料水溶液(原料溶液A、Feイオン濃度:0mol/L)を調製した。また、原料溶液Bとして、0.01mol/Lの塩酸(500ml)を調製した。原料溶液AとBとをビーカー中で、室温(25℃)下、撹拌子を用いたマグネティックスターラー(回転速度:400rpm)で混合しながら30分間撹拌した。pHメーターを用いて、得られた溶液のpHを測定したところ、2.3であった。
ビーカー中で、FeCl3・6H2O(27.30g、101mmol)とNi(NO3)2・6H2O(1.25g、4.20mmol)とをイオン交換水(500ml)に溶解し、Feイオン濃度が0.2mol/Lの金属イオン含有原料水溶液を調製した。この金属イオン含有原料水溶液を、室温(25℃)下、撹拌子を用いたマグネティックスターラー(回転速度:400rpm)で30分間撹拌し、鉄化合物のコロイド溶液を作製した。得られたコロイド溶液のpHは1.7であった。
ビーカー中で、イオン交換水で1/2に希釈したエチレンジアミン溶液(11ml)をイオン交換水(500ml)に溶解し、エチレンジアミン水溶液を調製した。このエチレンジアミン水溶液を、室温(25℃)下、撹拌子を用いたマグネティックスターラー(回転速度:400rpm)で30分間撹拌した。
(i)平均粒子径測定
実施例及び比較例で得られた溶液について、微粒子粒度分布測定装置(日機装(株)製「ナノトラックUPA250EX」、レーザー波長:780nm、測定範囲:0.8〜6000nm)を用いて動的光散乱法により粒度分布を測定し、算出した体積平均径(MV)を鉄化合物粒子の平均粒子径とした。その結果を表1に示す。なお、比較例2で得られた鉄化合物粉末は溶液中で沈降したため、粒度分布の測定は困難であった。また、比較例3で得られた溶液では、上記の測定範囲において粒度分布が得られなかった。
カーボンペーパー上に、実施例及び比較例で得られた溶液を滴下して自然乾燥させた後、水及び0.1MのKOH水溶液を用いて洗浄して測定用試料を作製した。なお、比較例2で得られた鉄化合物粉末はそのまま測定用試料として使用した。これらの測定用試料について、粉末X線回折装置((株)リガク製「Ultima IV」)を用いて、管電圧:40kV、管電流:40mA、X線:CuKα線(波長λ=1.5418Å)の条件でX線回折(XRD)測定を行なった。図1には、実施例3、比較例1及び比較例3で得られた溶液を用いて作製した測定用試料のX線回折パターンを示す。また、得られたX線回折パターンにおいて、β−FeOOH結晶相に由来するピークの有無を確認するとともに、結晶相に由来するピーク比から、結晶性鉄化合物中のβ−FeOOH結晶相の割合を算出した。さらに、結晶相に由来するピークの半値幅からシェラーの式を用いて結晶子径を求めた。それらの結果を表1に示す。
実施例及び比較例で得られたコロイド溶液中の鉄化合物粒子を、透過電子顕微鏡(日本電子(株)製「JEM−2100F」)を用いてSTEM観察を行なった。図2及び図3には、それぞれ実施例1及び比較例1で得られた鉄化合物粒子のSTEM像を示す。図2及び図3に示した結果から、Feイオンを用い、pH2.2〜2.5の範囲内で調製した鉄化合物粒子(実施例1及び比較例1)は、ドーパントの有無にかかわらず、細長い形状を有するものであることがわかった。
カーボンペーパー上に、実施例で得られたコロイド溶液を滴下して自然乾燥させた後、水及び0.1MのKOH水溶液を用いて洗浄して測定用試料を作製した。この測定用試料について、走査電子顕微鏡((株)日立ハイテクノロジーズ社製「SU3500型」)を用いてSEM観察及びEDXマッピングを行なった。図4には、実施例3で得られたコロイド溶液を用いて作製した測定用試料のSEM像及びEDXマッピング結果を示す。ニッケルのEDXマッピング結果から、Niは局在化しておらず、鉄化合物内に均一に分布していることがわかった。なお、SEM像中の繊維状のものは、炭素のEDXマッピング結果から、カーボンペーパーのカーボン繊維であることが確認された。
カーボンペーパー上に、実施例及び比較例で得られたコロイド溶液を滴下して自然乾燥させた後、水及び0.1MのKOH水溶液を用いて洗浄して測定用試料を作製した。この測定用試料を作用極として図5に示す酸化触媒活性評価装置に装着した(図5中のS)。対極Cとして白金線、参照極RとしてAg/AgCl、溶液として0.1MのKOH水溶液(pH12.8)を用いて電流電位曲線を求めた。このとき、電流値が安定するまで、掃引を複数回繰り返した。
Ni(NO3)2・6H2Oの量を0.59g(2.03mmol)に変更した以外は、実施例3と同様にして鉄化合物のコロイド溶液を作製した。得られたコロイド溶液のpHは2.2であった。
Ni(NO3)2・6H2Oの代わりにNiCl2・8H2O(0.99g、4.20mmol)を用いた以外は、実施例3と同様にして鉄化合物のコロイド溶液を作製した。得られたコロイド溶液のpHは2.2であった。
Ni(NO3)2・6H2Oの量を2.53g(8.70mmol)に変更した以外は、実施例3と同様にして鉄化合物のコロイド溶液を作製した。得られたコロイド溶液のpHは2.3であった。
Ni(NO3)2・6H2Oの量を5.54g(19.1mmol)に変更した以外は、実施例3と同様にして鉄化合物のコロイド溶液を作製した。得られたコロイド溶液のpHは2.4であった。
得られたコロイド溶液を用いて、前述した方法に従って、鉄化合物粒子の平均粒子径測定、X線回折測定、酸化触媒活性評価を行い、また、下記の方法に従って、ICP発光分光分析を行なった。それらの結果を表3に示す。
カーボンペーパー上に、実施例及び比較例で得られたコロイド溶液を滴下してコロイド粒子を担持させた測定用試料について、ICP発光分光分析装置((株)リガク製「CIROS−120 EOP」)を用いてICP発光分光分析を行い、Fe以外の金属元素とFe元素との原子比(Fe以外の金属元素/Fe元素)を求めた。
コロイド溶液のpHが2.6となるようにエチレンジアミンの量を変更した以外は、実施例3と同様にして鉄化合物のコロイド溶液を作製した。
コロイド溶液のpHが2.8となるようにエチレンジアミンの量を変更した以外は、実施例3と同様にして鉄化合物のコロイド溶液を作製した。
コロイド溶液のpHが1.6となるようにエチレンジアミンの量を変更した以外は、実施例3と同様にして鉄化合物のコロイド溶液を作製した。
コロイド溶液のpHが6.8となるようにエチレンジアミンの量を変更した以外は、実施例3と同様にして鉄化合物のコロイド溶液を作製した。
コロイド溶液のpHが8.1となるようにエチレンジアミンの量を変更した以外は、実施例3と同様にして鉄化合物のコロイド溶液を作製した。
得られたコロイド溶液を用いて、前述した方法に従って、鉄化合物粒子の平均粒子径測定、X線回折測定、酸化触媒活性評価を行なった。その結果を表4に示す。
エチレンジアミンの代わりにアンモニアを用いた以外は、実施例3と同様にして鉄化合物のコロイド溶液を作製した。得られたコロイド溶液のpHは2.1であった。
エチレンジアミンの代わりに水酸化ナトリウムを用いた以外は、実施例3と同様にして鉄化合物のコロイド溶液を作製した。得られたコロイド溶液のpHは2.1であった。
エチレンジアミンの代わりにモノエタノールアミンを用いた以外は、実施例3と同様にして鉄化合物のコロイド溶液を作製した。得られたコロイド溶液のpHは2.2であった。
得られたコロイド溶液を用いて、前述した方法に従って、鉄化合物粒子の平均粒子径測定、X線回折測定、ICP発光分光分析、酸化触媒活性評価を行なった。その結果を表5に示す。
カーボンペーパー上に、実施例及び比較例で得られたコロイド溶液を滴下して自然乾燥させた後、水及び0.1MのKOH水溶液を用いて洗浄して測定用試料を作製した。この測定用試料を作用極として用い、密閉型セル中、アルゴン雰囲気下で水の分解反応を行なった。対極Cとして白金線、参照極RとしてAg/AgCl、溶液として0.1MのKOH水溶液(pH12.8)を用いた。+0.6V(vs.Ag/AgCl、RHE換算で1.58V相当)の電圧を印加し、生成物をガスクロマトグラフにより定量した。その結果を図7及び図8に示す。
Ni(NO3)2・6H2Oの量を7.28g(25.0mmol)に変更した以外は、実施例3と同様にして鉄化合物のコロイド溶液を作製した。得られたコロイド溶液のpHは2.1であった。
Ni(NO3)2・6H2Oの量を14.55g(50.0mmol)に変更した以外は、実施例3と同様にして鉄化合物のコロイド溶液を作製した。得られたコロイド溶液のpHは2.1であった。
Ni(NO3)2・6H2Oの量を21.83g(75.1mmol)に変更した以外は、実施例3と同様にして鉄化合物のコロイド溶液を作製した。得られたコロイド溶液のpHは2.2であった。
得られたコロイド溶液を用いて、前述した方法に従って、鉄化合物粒子の平均粒子径測定、X線回折測定、ICP発光分光分析を行なった。それらの結果を表6に示す。また、得られたコロイド溶液を用いて、前述した方法に従って、鉄化合物粒子の酸化触媒活性評価を行なった。図10には、実施例16〜18で得られたコロイド溶液を用いて作製した測定用試料の電流電位曲線を示す。得られた電流電位曲線に基づいて、電流密度が2mA/cm2の場合の電位(E、単位:V vs.RHE)を求めた。その結果を表6に示す。さらに、得られたコロイド溶液を用いて、前述した方法に従って、鉄化合物粒子の水分解活性評価を行なった。その結果を図11に示す。
実施例で得られたコロイド溶液中の鉄化合物粒子を、透過電子顕微鏡(日本電子(株)製「JEM−2100F」)を用いて観察した。得られたDF−STEM像において、無作為に抽出した50個以上の鉄化合物一次粒子の形状を観察した。また、これら50個以上の鉄化合物一次粒子の長軸及び短軸の長さを測定して、長軸の平均長さを求め、さらに、長軸と短軸の長さの比(長軸/短軸)を算出して、その平均値(平均軸比)を求めた。それらの結果を表7に示す。

Claims (4)
- β−FeOOH結晶相と、該β−FeOOH結晶相にドープされたFe以外の金属元素とを含有し、
前記Fe以外の金属元素が、周期表第4〜12族に属するFe以外の3d及び4d遷移金属元素並びにAl元素からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の金属元素であり、
前記Fe以外の金属元素とFe元素との原子比(Fe以外の金属元素/Fe元素)が0.001〜0.5であり、
下記条件(A)及び(B)の両方を満たす鉄化合物粒子からなることを特徴とする酸化触媒。
(A)X線回折により測定された結晶子径が1〜60nmである。
(B)溶媒中において動的光散乱法により測定された平均粒子径が1〜600nmである。 - 前記β−FeOOH結晶相の含有量が全鉄化合物結晶相に対して50〜100mol%であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の酸化触媒。
- 一次粒子の形状がロッド状であり、一次粒子の長軸の平均長さが1〜50nmかつ長軸と短軸の長さの比(長軸/短軸)の平均値が3〜10であることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の酸化触媒。
- Feイオンと、周期表第4〜12族に属するFeイオン以外の3d及び4d遷移金属イオン並びにAlイオンからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の金属イオンとを含有する原料溶液Aと、中和剤を含有する原料溶液Bとを混合して、pH1.8〜5.0のコロイド溶液を調製し、Fe以外の金属元素がドープされたβ−FeOOHの結晶相を有する鉄化合物粒子を得ることを特徴とする鉄化合物粒子の製造方法。
