Description
カテーテルなどの医療用プローブは、様々な治療的及び診断的医療処置で使用される。プローブの遠位端は、電気生理学的(EP)マッピング電極及び/又は位置センサなど、多種多様な電極及びセンサを備えることができる。センサ及び電極によって感知される信号は、典型的には、適切なワイヤを使用して遠位端から送信される。いくつかの種類のプローブ、例えば、マルチアーム・カテーテルでは、センサ及び電極の数(したがって、ワイヤの数)は多数の場合がある。
図1は、本発明の一実施形態による、カテーテル追跡システム20の概略絵画図である。システム20は、本実施例では心臓カテーテルであるプローブ22と、制御コンソール24とを含む。本明細書に記載する実施形態では、カテーテル22は、心臓26内の組織のアブレーション、及び、例えば心臓不整脈など、心臓の機能不全を診断するための心電信号のマッピングなど、任意の好適な治療及び/又は診断目的に使用されてもよい。
図2は、本発明の一実施形態による、カテーテル22の遠位端40の概略絵図である。この実施形態において、遠位端40(カテーテルの挿入チューブに接続される)は、複数のアーム54を備える。カテーテルの挿入中、アームは、畳み込まれた位置にまとめられる。所望の心臓腔内へ挿入後、アームは、図2に示されるように展開位置に調整される。
(1) 医療用プローブであって、
患者身体内へ挿入するための挿入チューブと、
前記挿入チューブの遠位端に取り付けられる複数のアームであって、それぞれのアームが、前記アームを横断するワイヤの編組を備える、複数のアームと、
複数の電極であって、前記アームに連結され、前記編組のそれぞれ選択されたワイヤに電気的に接続されて、前記ワイヤを介して前記患者身体の外部のシステムと信号を交換するように構成される、複数の電極と、を備える、医療用プローブ。
(2) 前記電極のうちの1つ又は2つ以上が、測定された電気生理学的(EP)電位に反応して前記信号を生成するように構成される電気生理学的(EP)マッピング電極を備える、実施態様1に記載の医療用プローブ。
(3) 前記電極のうちの1つ又は2つ以上が、アブレーション信号に反応して組織のアブレーションを実行するように構成されるアブレーション電極を備える、実施態様1に記載の医療用プローブ。
(4) 前記アームに連結され、前記編組のそれぞれ選択されたワイヤに電気的に接続されて、前記患者身体内のそれぞれの位置を示す位置信号を生成し、前記位置信号を前記ワイヤを介して伝達するように構成される、1つ又は2つ以上の位置センサを備える、実施態様1に記載の医療用プローブ。
(5) 前記複数のアームが、バスケット構成に展開可能である、実施態様1に記載の医療用プローブ。
(7) 前記編組の前記選択されたワイヤが、電気的に絶縁される、実施態様1に記載の医療用プローブ。
(8) 方法であって、
医療用プローブを患者身体内へ挿入することであって、該医療用プローブが、挿入チューブと、前記挿入チューブの遠位端に取り付けられた複数のアームであって、前記アームを横断するワイヤのそれぞれの編組を備える、複数のアームと、前記編組のそれぞれ選択されたワイヤに電気的に接続される複数の電極とを備える、挿入することと、
前記電極と前記患者身体の外部のシステムとの間で、前記ワイヤを介して信号を交換することと、を含む、方法。
(9) 前記電極のうちの1つ又は2つ以上が、電気生理学的(EP)マッピング電極を備え、前記信号を交換することが、測定されたEP電位に反応して前記信号を生成することを含む、実施態様8に記載の方法。
(10) 前記電極のうちの1つ又は2つ以上が、アブレーション電極を備え、前記信号を交換することが、組織のアブレーションを実行するためのアブレーション信号を送信することを含む、実施態様8に記載の方法。
(12) 前記医療用プローブを挿入することが、前記複数のアームをバスケット構成に展開することを含む、実施態様8に記載の方法。
(13) それぞれのアーム内のワイヤの前記編組が、らせん状に巻かれている、実施態様8に記載の方法。
(14) 前記編組の前記選択されたワイヤが、電気的に絶縁される、実施態様8に記載の方法。
(15) 方法であって、
患者身体内へ挿入するための挿入チューブを提供することと、
前記挿入チューブの遠位端に複数のアームを取り付けることであって、それぞれのアームが、前記アームを横断するワイヤの編組を備える、取り付けることと、
前記ワイヤを介して前記患者身体の外部のシステムと信号を交換するように、前記アームに複数の電極を連結し、前記電極を前記編組のそれぞれ選択されたワイヤに電気的に接続することと、を含む、方法。
Claims (4)
- 医療用プローブであって、
患者身体内へ挿入するための挿入チューブと、
前記挿入チューブの遠位端に取り付けられる複数のアームであって、それぞれのアームが、前記アームを横断するワイヤの編組を備える、複数のアームと、
複数の電極であって、前記複数のアームに連結され、前記編組のそれぞれ選択されたワイヤに電気的に接続されて、前記ワイヤを介して前記患者身体の外部のシステムと信号を交換するように構成される、複数の電極と、を備え、
前記複数の電極のうちの1つ又は2つ以上が、測定された電気生理学的(EP)電位に反応して前記信号を生成するように構成され、前記編組の第1ワイヤに電気的に接続された第1の電気生理学的(EP)マッピング電極および前記編組の第2ワイヤに電気的に接続された第2の電気生理学的(EP)マッピング電極を備え、
前記編組の第3ワイヤに電気的に接続されて、前記患者身体内の位置を示す位置信号を生成し、前記位置信号を前記第3ワイヤを介して伝達するように構成される、位置センサを備え、
前記第1の電気生理学的(EP)マッピング電極、前記第2の電気生理学的(EP)マッピング電極、及び、前記位置センサは、前記複数のアームの各々に埋め込まれており、各アームに埋め込まれている前記第1ワイヤ、前記第2ワイヤ、及び前記第3ワイヤは、互いに絶縁されている、医療用プローブ。 - 前記複数の電極のうちの1つ又は2つ以上が、アブレーション信号に反応して組織のアブレーションを実行するように構成されるアブレーション電極を備える、請求項1に記載の医療用プローブ。
- 前記複数のアームが、バスケット構成に展開可能である、請求項1に記載の医療用プローブ。
- それぞれのアーム内の前記編組が、らせん状に巻かれている、請求項1に記載の医療用プローブ。
