Claims (26)
- 平面を基準として高さ方向に配列されており、少なくとも2つ以上は平面の大きさが互いに異なる複数のユニットセルと、
配列された前記複数のユニットセルの平面の大きさの差によって形成される空間部と
を含み、
前記複数のユニットセルは、それぞれ1つ以上の極板を含んでおり、相対的に平面の大きさが大きいユニットセルの前記極板から突出している電極タブと相対的に平面の大きさが小さいユニットセルの前記極板から突出している電極タブとが電極リードに結合されてタブ−リード結合部が形成され、前記電極タブと前記電極リードとの前記タブ−リード結合部によって前記電極タブが前記電極リードと電気的に接続されており、前記タブ−リード結合部は前記空間部に位置することを特徴とする、電極組立体。 - 前記電極タブは、正極タブ及び負極タブで構成されており、同じ極性を有する電極タブは、一つの電極リードに電気的に接続されていることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電極組立体。
- 前記同じ極性を有する電極タブは、平面視で同一方向に突出していることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の電極組立体。
- 前記電極組立体の前記空間部は、前記相対的に平面の大きさが小さいユニットセルの外側に位置し、電極タブが突出している方向に位置することを特徴とする、請求項3に記載の電極組立体。
- 前記電極タブが突出している方向に位置したユニットセルの端部の相互間の配列の不一致によって前記空間部が形成されていることを特徴とする、請求項4に記載の電極組立体。
- 前記正極タブ及び前記負極タブの突出方向は、平面視で互いに同一または異なることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の電極組立体。
- 前記タブ−リード結合部は、少なくとも一部の電極タブが折り曲げられた状態で前記空間部に位置することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電極組立体。
- 前記電極リードは、前記極板に対して平行に延びていることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電極組立体。
- 前記複数のユニットセルは、ユニットセルの厚さ、長さ及び幅のうち少なくとも1つが異なることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電極組立体。
- 前記ユニットセルは、2つ以上の極板及び分離膜を含み、前記極板と前記分離膜とは交互に配列されていることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電極組立体。
- 前記分離膜は、前記極板よりも相対的に大きい大きさを有し、
前記電極タブは、前記極板よりも長く延びている分離膜余剰部によって前記極板の端部に非接触した状態で、前記タブ−リード結合部側に折り曲げられていることを特徴とする、請求項10に記載の電極組立体。 - 前記電極タブの少なくとも一部は電極組立体の外周面に密着した状態で折り曲げられるように、分離膜余剰部も、前記電極タブと共に前記タブ−リード結合部側に折り曲げられていることを特徴とする、請求項11に記載の電極組立体。
- 前記複数のユニットセルは、両面に位置した電極の種類が同一であるユニットセル、または両面に位置した電極の種類が異なるユニットセルであることを特徴とする、請求項10に記載の電極組立体。
- 前記タブ−リード結合部と電極組立体の外面とは、絶縁性フィルムを介在して密着していることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電極組立体。
- 前記タブ−リード結合部は、固定部材によって定位置に固定されていることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電極組立体。
- 前記電極タブは、長さが互いに同一または異なることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電極組立体。
- 前記電極タブは、長さが互いに異なり、前記空間部と前記極板との間の距離の増加によって相対的に長さが増加することを特徴とする、請求項16に記載の電極組立体。
- 前記電極組立体は、スタック型電極組立体、ラミネーション/スタック型電極組立体、またはスタック/フォールディング型電極組立体であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電極組立体。
- 請求項1に記載の電極組立体が電解液と共に電池ケースの内部に密封されていることを特徴とする、電池セル。
- 前記電池ケースの外部に前記電極リードの端部が露出しており、前記電極タブ及び前記タブ−リード結合部が前記電池ケースの内部に位置していることを特徴とする、請求項19に記載の電池セル。
- 前記電池ケースは、前記タブ−リード結合部が位置する部位が相対的に突出していることを特徴とする、請求項20に記載の電池セル。
- 前記電極組立体の外面の少なくとも一部は段差状をなしており、前記電池ケースには、前記電極組立体の外面形状に対応する段差が形成されていることを特徴とする、請求項19に記載の電池セル。
- 請求項19に記載の電池セルを単位電池として含むことを特徴とする、電池パック。
- 請求項23に記載の電池パックを電源として含むことを特徴とする、デバイス。
- 電極組立体を製造する方法であって、
(a)平面の大きさが互いに異なる2つ以上のユニットセルを、平面の大きさの差によって空間部を形成するように、平面を基準として高さ方向に配列する過程と、
(b)前記ユニットセルの電極タブの少なくとも一部を前記空間部側に折り曲げる過程と、
(c)電極リードを、相対的に平面の大きさが大きいユニットセルの前記電極タブと相対的に平面の大きさが小さいユニットセルの前記電極タブとに結合させて前記電極タブと前記電極リードとのタブ−リード結合部を形成し、前記タブ−リード結合部によって前記電極タブと電極リードとを電気的に接続する過程と、
(d)前記タブ−リード結合部が前記空間部に位置するように、電極タブを折り曲げる過程と
を含むことを特徴とする、製造方法。 - 前記過程(b)の後に、
(b−1)前記電極タブの端部が実質的に一致するように切断する過程
をさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項25に記載の製造方法。
