Description
Claims (10)
- 内燃機関の燃焼室内の可燃混合気に点火するためのプラズマ放電を一対の放電電極(161,163)の間にて発生させる点火プラグ(16)と、
一次コイル(18A)及び二次コイル(18B)を具備し、前記二次コイルにより前記点火プラグの前記一対の放電電極の間に電圧を印加する点火コイル(18)と、
前記点火プラグ及び前記二次コイルを含む回路に電圧共振を生じさせる周波数の交流電圧を、前記一次コイルに印加する交流電圧印加部(20)と、
を備え、
前記交流電圧印加部は、
前記内燃機関の空燃比が閾値よりも低い場合に、前記交流電圧の出力時間を、前記一対の放電電極の間における放電で、部分破壊に至る第一時間よりも長く、全路破壊に至る第二時間よりも短く設定することを特徴とする点火装置。 - 前記閾値は第一閾値であり、
前記交流電圧印加部は、前記内燃機関の空燃比が、前記第一閾値よりも低く且つ第二閾値よりも高い場合に、一回の燃焼サイクル中に前記設定された出力時間の交流電圧の出力を複数回行うことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の点火装置。 - 前記交流電圧印加部は、前記内燃機関の空燃比が前記閾値よりも高い場合に、前記出力時間を前記第二時間よりも長く設定することを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の点火装置。
- 前記交流電圧印加部は、前記内燃機関の回転速度が高くなるほど、前記出力時間を短く設定することを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載の点火装置。
- 前記交流電圧印加部は、前記内燃機関の負荷が高くなるほど、前記出力時間を長く設定することを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項に記載の点火装置。
- 前記二次コイルに高電圧を印加する高電圧電源(50)を備え、
前記内燃機関の空燃比が前記閾値よりも高い場合に、前記高電圧電源から前記高電圧を出力させて、前記一対の放電電極の間における放電で全路破壊に至らせ、
前記交流電圧印加部は、前記高電圧の出力による全路破壊中に、前記交流電圧を前記一次コイルに印加することを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項に記載の点火装置。 - 前記交流電圧は、前記部分破壊に至ることが可能であり且つ前記全路破壊に至ることが不可能なように設定されている、又は前記第二時間が前記内燃機関の燃焼行程における点火時間よりも長くなるように設定されていることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の点火装置。
- 前記一対の放電電極の間における放電で前記部分破壊に至った状態では、ストリーマ放電が形成されることを特徴とする請求項1乃至7のいずれか1項に記載の点火装置。
- 前記電圧共振の周波数は略800kHzであることを特徴とする請求項1乃至8のいずれか1項に記載の点火装置。
- 前記第二時間は20μsであることを特徴とする請求項1乃至9のいずれか1項に記載の点火装置。
