Claims (6)
- 内燃機関の排気通路にリーンNOxトラップ触媒装置を備えると共に、該リーンNOxトラップ触媒装置のNOx吸蔵能力を回復するためのリッチ制御を行う制御装置を備えた内燃機関の排気ガス浄化システムにおいて、
前記制御装置が、
前記内燃機関から排出される単位時間当たりのNOx排出量を算出するNOx排出量算出手段と、
前記NOx排出量算出手段で算出された単位時間あたりのNOx排出量に基づいてリッチ待ち時間閾値を設定するリッチ待ち時間閾値設定手段と、
前記リーンNOxトラップ触媒装置に対する前回のリッチ制御後からのエンジン運転経過時間、若しくはエンジン始動後のエンジン運転経過時間である経過時間が、前記リッチ待ち時間閾値設定手段で設定されたリッチ待ち時間閾値以上になったときに、リッチ制御を開始すると判定する経過時間判定手段と、
リッチ制御を開始するとの指令によりリッチ制御を開始するリッチ制御手段を備えると共に、
前記リッチ制御手段にリッチ制御を開始するとの指令を出すリッチ制御指令手段を備え、前記リッチ制御指令手段は、前記経過時間判定手段におけるリッチ制御の開始の判定を前記指令を出すための必須条件としたことを特徴とする内燃機関の排気ガス浄化システム。 - 前記制御装置が、
前記リーンNOxトラップ触媒装置に吸蔵されているNOx吸蔵量を算定して、このNOx吸蔵量が予め設定されたNOx吸蔵量閾値以上になったときに、リッチ制御を開始すると判定するNOx吸蔵量判定手段と、
前記リーンNOxトラップ触媒装置で浄化されているNOx浄化率を算定して、このNOx浄化率が予め設定されたNOx浄化率閾値以下になったときに、リッチ制御を開始すると判定するNOx浄化率判定手段を備えると共に、
前記リッチ制御指令手段が、前記NOx吸蔵量判定手段におけるリッチ制御の開始の判定と、前記NOx浄化率判定手段におけるリッチ制御の開始の判定と、前記経過時間判定手段におけるリッチ制御の開始の判定との3つの開始の判定が揃ったときに、リッチ制御を開始する指令を出すように構成された請求項1に記載の内燃機関の排気ガス浄化システム。 - 前記リッチ待ち時間閾値設定手段が、前記NOx排出量算出手段で算出された単位時間あたりのNOx排出量が増加するに伴い、前記リッチ待ち時間閾値を減少させて設定するように構成された請求項1又は2に記載の内燃機関の排気ガス浄化システム。
- 請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の内燃機関の排気ガス浄化システムを備えて構成される内燃機関。

前記内燃機関から排出される単位時間あたりのNOx排出量に基づいてリッチ待ち時間閾値を設定し、前記リーンNOxトラップ触媒装置に対する前回のリッチ制御後からのエンジン運転経過時間、若しくはエンジン始動後のエンジン運転経過時間である経過時間が、前記リッチ待ち時間閾値以上になったときにリッチ制御を開始すると判定して、このリッチ制御の開始の判定を、リッチ制御を開始する必要条件としたことを特徴とする内燃機関の排気ガス浄化方法。 - 前記リーンNOxトラップ触媒装置に吸蔵されているNOx吸蔵量を算定して、このNOx吸蔵量が予め設定されたNOx吸蔵量閾値以上になったときと、前記リーンNOxトラップ触媒装置で浄化されているNOx浄化率を算定して、このNOx浄化率が予め設定されたNOx浄化率閾値以下になったときと、前記経過時間が、前記リッチ待ち時間閾値以上になったときの3つが揃った場合に、リッチ制御を開始する請求項5に記載の内燃機関の排気ガス浄化方法。
