Claims (2)
- 表示部材と、タッチ部材と、前記表示部材と前記タッチ部材とで共用するコモン電極と、を含む液晶表示装置の駆動方法であって、
前記表示部材は、
ゲートドライバと、
データドライバと、
平行して配置された複数のゲート線と、
平行して配置されかつ前記ゲート線と絶縁して交差する複数のデータ線と、
複数の前記ゲート線と複数の前記データ線とによって定義される画素領域ごとに設けられたTFTおよび画素電極と、を有し、
前記TFTのゲート電極が前記ゲート線に対応して接続し、かつ、前記TFTのソース電極が前記データ線に対応して接続するとともに、前記TFTのドレイン電極が前記画素電極に対応して接続し、
前記コモン電極が前記画素電極に相対して設けられ、
前記ゲートドライバが複数の前記ゲート線にゲート駆動信号を順に提供して前記ゲート線に対応する前記TFTを起動し、
前記データドライバが複数の前記データ線にグレイスケール駆動信号を提供して前記画素電極に充電し、
このとき、複数の前記ゲート線を上から順にゲート線G1、ゲート線G2、・・ゲート線Gk、ゲート線Gk+1・・ゲート線Gnとするとき、
前記ゲートドライバは、前記ゲート線を上から順に一本ずつ時間間隔を空けずに順次駆動し、
前記データドライバは、前記ゲートドライバが前記ゲート線に前記ゲート駆動信号の提供の開始と同時に、対応する前記ゲート線に繋がった前記画素領域に対応するグレイスケール駆動信号の提供を開始して前記画素電極を充電し、
前記ゲート線Gkの駆動の開始から次のゲート線Gk+1の駆動の開始までの時間をゲート線サイクルタイムとし、
前記タッチ部材は、
前記コモン電極と相対して設けられた複数のタッチ電極と、
前記タッチ電極と前記コモン電極とに接続するタッチ回路と、を有し、
前記タッチ回路が実行するタッチ検知動作は、前記コモン電極および前記タッチ電極のうちのいずれか一方にタッチ駆動信号を印加し、かつ、前記コモン電極か前記タッチ電極のうちのいずれか他方からタッチ検知信号を得て、タッチの動作に対して前記コモン電極と前記タッチ電極との間で起きた電気容量の変化を検知するものであり、
当該液晶表示装置の駆動方法は、
前記ゲートドライバが複数の前記ゲート線のうちの一本の前記ゲート線Gkに前記ゲート駆動信号の提供を介してゲート駆動を行うと同時に、前記データドライバが複数の前記データ線に前記グレイスケール駆動信号の提供を開始してグレイスケール駆動を行い、前記データドライバが前記一本のゲート線に繋がった前記画素電極に充電する画素充電工程と、
前記ゲート線Gkをゲート駆動する前記ゲート線サイクルタイムの後半であってその終了の直前から前記タッチ回路が1回の前記タッチ検知動作を開始し、かつ、次の前記ゲート線Gk+1のゲート駆動が開始される前に前記1回の前記タッチ検知動作を終了するタッチ検知工程と、を有し、
前記ゲート線Gkに繋がった前記画素電極に充電する画素充電工程の終了後間隔を空けずに次のゲート線Gk+1に繋がった前記画素電極に充電する画素充電工程を開始する
ことを特徴とする液晶表示装置の駆動方法。 - 請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置の駆動方法において、
前記タッチ検知工程の前記タッチ検知動作の開始は、前記画素充電工程において前記画素電極に充電が完了して前記コモン電極の電圧が安定した後である
ことを特徴とする液晶表示装置の駆動方法。
