Claims (5)
- 対向配置される第1基板及び第2基板と、
前記第1基板に設けられた第1電極と、
前記第2基板に設けられた第2電極と、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板の間に配置された液晶層、
を含み、
前記第1電極と前記第2電極とが重なる領域において表示部が画定され、当該表示部には、少なくとも一部のエッジから内側へ所定幅のオフセット領域が設定されており、
前記第1電極と前記第2電極の少なくとも一方は、平面視において、前記表示部の前記オフセット領域以外に配置される複数の第1開口部と、前記表示部の前記オフセット領域に配置される複数の第2開口部を有しており、
前記複数の第1開口部の各々は、平面視において、長手方向が第1方向に沿うように配置された枝部と長手方向が前記第1方向とは異なる第2方向に沿うように配置された枝部とをそれぞれの一端で結合した部分を有しており、
前記複数の第2開口部の各々は、平面視において、長手方向が前記第1方向に沿うように配置されたI字形状の複数の第3開口部と、長手方向が前記第2方向に沿うように配置されたI字形状の複数の第4開口部を含み、
前記複数の第3開口部と前記複数の第4開口部は、各々1つずつが一対をなし、当該一対の第3開口部と第4開口部のうち一方の長辺の1つと他方の短辺の1つとが向かい合うようにして相互間を離間させて配置されている、
液晶表示装置。 - 対向配置される第1基板及び第2基板と、
前記第1基板に設けられた第1電極と、
前記第2基板に設けられた第2電極と、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板の間に配置された液晶層、
を含み、
前記第1電極と前記第2電極とが重なる領域において表示部が画定され、当該表示部には、少なくとも一部のエッジから内側へ所定幅のオフセット領域が設定されており、
前記第1電極と前記第2電極の少なくとも一方は、平面視において、前記表示部の前記オフセット領域以外に配置される複数の第1開口部と、前記表示部の前記オフセット領域に配置される複数の第2開口部を有しており、
前記複数の第1開口部の各々は、平面視において、長手方向が第1方向に沿うように配置された枝部と長手方向が前記第1方向とは異なる第2方向に沿うように配置された枝部とをそれぞれの一端で結合した部分を有しており、
前記複数の第2開口部の各々は、平面視において、前記複数の第1開口部の各々と略同一形状であって、当該第1開口部を180°回転させた向きで配置されている、
液晶表示装置。 - 前記複数の第1開口部の各々は、略L字形状、略T字形状又は略十字形状である、
請求項1又は2に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記オフセット領域の幅が、前記複数の第1開口部の各々の前記第1方向に沿った枝部の長手方向長さ及び/又は前記第2方向に沿った枝部の長手方向長さよりも大きい、
請求項1〜3の何れか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記表示部は、表示対象の文字又は図案を直接的に形作るセグメント表示型の表示部である、
請求項1〜4の何れか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
