Description
Yellow 20、24、86、81、83、93、108、109、110、117、125、137、138、139、147、148、150、153、154、166、168、185、C.I.Pigment Orange 36、73、C.I.Pigment Violet23等を使用することができる。さらに所望の色相を得るために2種以上の材料を混合して用いることができる。
「電気泳動表示層の作製」
ポリエチレン樹脂で表面を被覆した平均粒径3μmの酸化チタン粉末(白色粒子)と、アルキルトリメチルアンモニウムクロライドで表面処理した平均粒径4μmのカーボンブラック粉末(黒色粒子)をテトラクロロエチレンに分散し、分散液を得た。この場合、白色粒子が負に帯電し、黒色粒子が正に帯電する。
次いで、着色材料を作製した。カラーフィルタの製造に用いる着色材料に含まれる着色する顔料には表1に示すものを用いた。表1に示す処方で、ビーズミル分散により十分混連錬し、赤色顔料分散液、緑色顔料分散液、青色顔料分散液、及び黄色顔料分散液を作製した。
内容量が2リットルの5つ口反応容器内に、ジエチレングリコールモノメチルエーテルアセテート(EDGAc)200g、ブチルメタクリレート(BMA)140g、メタクリル酸(MAA)30g、ヒドロキシエチルメタクリレート(HEMA)30g、アゾビスイソブチロニトリル(AIBN)4gを加え窒素を吹き込みながら80℃で6時間加熱し、アクリル樹脂溶液(不揮発分50%、分子量:約5000)を得た。
このようにして得た顔料分散液に、バインダー樹脂(アクリル樹脂溶液)、及び有機溶剤を加えて良く攪拌し、表2に示す8種のカラーフィルタ用着色材料を(インクA〜H)を作製した。
次いで、電気泳動表示層13上に形成された受容層に対し、12pl、180dpi(2.54cm当たり180ドット)ヘッド(セイコーインスツルメンツ(株)製)を搭載したインクジェット印刷装置を用いて、前記着色材料のインクAを表3に示す色相(C光源)を着色部中心が有するようにインク吐出量を調整し、さらに、形成される着色部の面積も同様になるように調整し、各画素の所定の位置に塗工した。その後、熱風オーブンにて80℃で5分乾燥させて各着色部(RGB色)からなるカラーフィルタ15を形成した。
着色部の色度測定は、形成された着色部の中心を、顕微分光光度計(オリンパス株式会社製「OSP-SP200」、測定スポット径:Φ=20μm)を用いて測定し、C光源での色度(Y,x,y)を求めた。また、測定の際のリファレンスはガラスを用いた。
カラーフィルタを形成してなる反射ディスプレイのカラー表示の際の色測定は、分光色差計(日本電色工業株式会社製「SE6000」、測定スポット径:Φ=6mm)を用いて測定し、D65光源での反射測定にて行った。色測定は、画素全てを白・黒表示とした際の反射率、及び各着色部のみの画素を白表示とした際の反射率、及び彩度を求めた。
実施例1と同様にして、表4に示したインク、印刷条件の組み合わせで、実施例2〜4、および比較例1〜4のカラーフィルタを得た。
即ち、実施例1〜4に示す、インクを用いて作製したカラーフィルタにおいては、白表示時の反射率が約27%前後で一定で、かつRGB各色表示した場合の各色の彩度もほぼ一定となり、電気泳動式反射ディスプレイの持つ表示性能から想定される反射率、色再現性を満たすものであった。

Claims (6)
- 少なくとも基板、第一の電極層、反射表示層、第二の電極層、基材、及びインク定着層をこの順に有する反射型表示パネルであって、
顔料、分散剤、第一のバインダー樹脂、及び溶剤からなる着色組成物を用いて形成された着色部と透明な非着色部とが、前記インク定着層に複数備えられ、
前記第一の電極層の駆動単位に対応して前記着色部及び前記非着色部が配置され、
前記着色部に含まれる前記顔料と前記第一のバインダー樹脂との比が重量比で1:9〜5:5の範囲にあり、
前記反射表示層が、黒色粒子及び白色粒子を含むマイクロカプセルを第二のバインダー樹脂で固定することにより構成され、
前記着色部が、赤色の着色部、緑色の着色部、及び青色の着色部を有し、
前記第一の電極層の駆動単位の全てを白表示とした場合のD65光源での反射測定による反射率が、26.5%以上であり、かつ、赤色、緑色及び青色を表示した場合の各色の彩度(C*)が、全て7.3以上であることを特徴とする反射型表示パネル。 - 前記第一のバインダー樹脂は、アクリル系樹脂、エポキシ系樹脂、ノボラック系樹脂、及びメラミン系樹脂からなる群から選ばれる1つ以上の硬化性樹脂であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の反射型表示パネル。
- 前記第一のバインダー樹脂の質量平均分子量が500〜10000であることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の反射型表示パネル。
- 前記着色組成物は、溶剤以外の成分を前記着色組成物中の10%〜40%含むことを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載の反射型表示パネル。
- 前記第一の電極層の駆動単位の表示層に接する面の面積と各前記着色部のインク定着層に接しない面との面積比が25%〜90%であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項に記載の反射型表示パネル。
- 請求項1から5までのいずれか1項に記載の反射型表示パネルの製造方法であって、前記着色部をインクジェット法により形成することを特徴とする反射型表示パネルの製造方法。
