Description
本発明は、概して、眼内レンズ(IOL)に関し、具体的には、患者の視力の矯正のための選択可能かつ交換可能な曲率変化素子を含む曲率変化調節性IOLに関する。
患者の眼の天然結晶レンズが、白内障の形成に起因して曇らされてきたか、あるいは天然レンズの失われた光学屈折力を補償するための交換の必要があるとき、眼内レンズ(IOL)は、典型的には、白内障手術中に患者の眼内に埋め込まれる。従来、そのようなIOLは、単焦点IOLを含んできた。(より近い物体に対しては、そのような単焦点IOLを埋め込まれた患者が、多くの場合、より至近距離からのまたはより近い物体のための視力の矯正のための読書用眼鏡をなおも用いなければならないが、)単焦点IOLの中で、遠位物体からの光が、遠方視力を改善するために網膜上に焦点を当てられ、また、つい最近では、調節IOLが開発されて、それらが、患者の眼の毛様体の筋肉の伸縮に起因する天然調節性力に応じて患者の視力を調整するように設計される。しかしながら、特に乱視を持つ患者において、そのようなIOLの一貫した継続調節を徐々に提供することは困難であった。水晶体嚢がIOLを再生させ、「収縮包装する」につれ、IOLに付与された調節性力は、減少され得、よって患者の視力を矯正する上でIOLの効果を減じる。とりわけ知られていない水晶体嚢および/または嚢切開の大きさを使って、そのようなIOLの一貫したおよび正確な装着を確実にすることも多くの場合困難である。患者の眼の毛様体部内に係合するまたは埋め込まれ得る触覚素子を含む他の種類のIOLが、さらに開発されてきた。
簡潔に説明すると、本発明は、概して、眼内レンズに関し、特に、患者が老視を回復する一助となるように設計された曲率変化調節性眼内レンズ(IOL)に関する。例えば、一実施形態では、本発明の原理による調節性IOLを患者における白内障の矯正のために用いることができ、調節性IOLは、概して、患者の眼の天然結晶レンズとの交換として、患者の眼の水晶体嚢内に埋め込まれている。本発明の原理による調節性IOLは、2ジオプトリー以上の調節振幅での実質的に連続した調節を提供するようにさらに設計され、患者の眼の残余屈折異常または乱視の矯正のためのレンズ部品を含み得る。
いくつかの図を通して同様の番号が同様の部分を図示する図面をより詳細に参照すると、図1A〜3は、概して、本発明の原理による曲率変化調節性眼内レンズ(IOL)およびその部品の一実施形態を図解する。本発明のIOL10は、患者の眼の天然調節性動作および機能に応じて患者の視力の矯正を可能にするために、白内障および/もしくは残余屈折異常または乱視に起因する患者の眼の視覚障害の矯正のため、概して、患者の眼内に埋め込まれ得る。図4A〜4Bに図示されるように、IOL10は、概して、患者の眼の水晶体嚢C内に埋め込まれ得、これで、患者の眼の調節および無調節運動または動作中に水晶体嚢によって係合される。埋め込まれたIOLの位置または場所は、必要に応じて、当業者によって理解されるであろうように、さらに変動され得る。本発明のIOL10は、患者の眼に実質的に一貫した、継続調節された視覚調整を提供するように適合され、変動するまたは知られていない大きさの水晶体嚢および/または嚢切開の大きさに埋め込まれ得、一方で、遠位またはより至近距離からの物体を見るために患者の視力の所望の矯正を提供するための患者の眼の天然調節性運動および刺激と共に働く。
Claims (2)
- 調節性眼内レンズ(IOL)であって、
ベース視力矯正を提供するためのベース光学屈折力を有する円形ベースレンズ、および前記ベースレンズの周辺側縁に接続された触覚構造を有する、レンズ体であって、前記レンズ体の前記触覚構造は、前記ベースレンズから離間された周辺外リングと、前記周辺外リングとベースレンズとの間に延在しそれらを接続する一連の湾曲した、外側に突出するレンズ触覚素子と、を備えるレンズ体と、
前記レンズ体の前記ベースレンズの上に載置可能な作動装置であって、中心開口部を画定するリング状体と、前記作動装置を前記レンズ体に係合して取り付けて実質的に一体型の構造を形成するように適合された、一連の放射状に突出する作動装置触覚素子と、を備え、それらの間で間隙を画定するように、前記ベースレンズに対して離間された位置に配設される、作動装置と、
前記レンズ体または前記作動装置に取り付けられることなく、前記レンズ体の前記ベースレンズと前記作動装置との間の前記間隙内に受容される、流体光学素子であって、その中に含有される流体物質を含み、前記作動装置と前記ベースレンズとの間の間隙に対応する厚さを有する可撓性膜を備える、流体光学素子と、
前記作動装置およびレンズ体が内側に付勢され、前記流体光学素子に作用するリング圧が生成されるときに、前記リング圧は前記流体物質の運動および前記流体光学素子の変形を引き起こし、前記ベースレンズの前記ベース光学屈折力に加えてさらなる光学屈折力を提供するようにする、調節性眼内レンズ。 - 前記レンズ触覚素子または前記作動装置触覚素子のうちの少なくとも1つへの引張力の付与が、前記流体素子に付与された前記力を消散するように、前記レンズ触覚素子と作動装置触覚素子との分離を引き起こし、前記流体素子が圧縮されていない状態に戻り、かつ前記眼内レンズの前記光学屈折力を低下させることを可能にする、請求項1に記載の調節性眼内レンズ。
