Description
LMOの作製にあたり、出発原料としてLi2CO3およびMnO2(電解二酸化マンガン)を用い、所定のLMOの組成(LiMn2O4)となるように秤量した。なお、電解二酸化マンガンは、マンガンイオンを含む硫酸溶液の電解によるもので、不純物として硫酸塩または硫酸イオン(以下SO4と表記する)を含んでいる。次いで、これらの原料を粉砕混合した後に、焼成した。その後、篩にかけて混合物から粗粒を除去し、前記組成であってSO4 を0.05%含むLMOの粉末を得た。
実施例2の正極スラリは、LMO粉末をLiMn2O4(SO4 0.1%)の組成となるように調製したこと以外は、実施例1の正極スラリと同じ調製法により作製した。SO4含有量は、LMO原料の電解二酸化マンガンとして実施例1で用いたものとSO4含有量が異なる電解二酸化マンガンを用いることで制御した。単位活物質重量当たりの質量比では、SO4/LiOH=22、Li2CO3/SO4=2.6である。
実施例2の正極スラリは、LMO粉末をLiMn2O4(SO4 0.05%)の組成、LNO粉末をLiNi0.33Co0.3Mn0.33O2(LiOH 0.01%,Li2CO3 0.3%)の組成となるように調製したこと以外は、実施例1の正極スラリと同じ調製法により作製した。LMO,LNOの不純物の混入量は、LMOは実施例1と同じものを用い、LNOは製造時の各工程中あるいは焼成後保管時においての水分管理、雰囲気管理の条件の調節により制御した。単位活物質重量当たりの質量比では、SO4/LiOH=11、Li2CO3/SO4=3.1である。
比較例1の正極スラリは、LMO粉末をLiMn2O4(SO4 1.0%)の組成となるように調製したこと以外は、実施例1の正極スラリと同じ調製法により作製した。SO4含有量は、LMO原料の電解二酸化マンガンとして実施例1で用いたものとSO4含有量が異なる電解二酸化マンガンを用いることで制御した。単位活物質重量当たりの質量比では、SO4/LiOH=220、Li2CO3/SO4=0.26である。
比較例2の正極スラリは、LMO粉末をLiMn2O4(SO4 0.05%)の組成、LNO粉末をLiNi0.33Co0.3Mn0.33O2(LiOH 0.5%,Li2CO3 0.5%)の組成となるように調製したこと以外は、実施例1の正極スラリと同じ調製法により作製した。LMO,LNOの不純物の混入量は、LMOは実施例1と同じものを用い、LNOは製造時の各工程中あるいは焼成後保管時においての水分管理、雰囲気管理の条件の調節により制御した。単位活物質重量当たりの質量比では、SO4/LiOH=0.22、Li2CO3/SO4=5.2である。
評価対象の正極スラリを攪拌しこのときのスラリのゲル化の有無を目視により確認した。

を特徴とする非水電解質電池。 - 前記第二アルカリ化合物は炭酸リチウムであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の非水電解質電池。
- 正極活物質を結着剤と共に有機溶媒に溶解させて混練してなる正極スラリを金属箔に塗布して正極を作製する、非水電解質電池の製造方法であって、
正極活物質はリチウムマンガン複合酸化物とリチウムニッケル複合酸化物とを含み、
前記リチウムニッケル複合酸化物には水酸化リチウムとこの化合物以外の第二アルカリ化合物とが含まれ、
前記正極活物質の単位質量において、前記リチウムマンガン複合酸化物中の硫酸塩または硫酸イオンのモル当量は、前記リチウムニッケル複合酸化物中の水酸化リチウムのモル当量より多く前記第二アルカリ化合物のモル当量よりも少ないこと
を特徴とする非水電解質電池の製造方法。
