better:big boost for titanium MIM prospects」(ここであらゆる目的に対して全体として参照されて含まれる金属粉末報告書、Volume61、2006年12月11日刊行、第20−23頁)のテーブルIとIIは、それぞれチタン合金PIMバインダー組成物の選択と、主に実験室スケール工程上においてその組成物を用いて製造された焼結合金の物性リストである。バインダー除去(debinding)工程の大部分は、熱または溶媒を用いた工程、または、場合によってそれら2つの組み合わせを有する。溶媒を用いた工程によれば、低レベルの不純物を有する焼結チタン体を生産することができるが、それに含まれた溶媒の量は、後続処理が必要な廃棄物ストリームとなる。このテーブルを検討することにより、不純物のASTM標準レベルを有する焼結合金成分の達成は実際に難しいことが明らかである。
この場合、前記粉末、前記白金族金属および前記バインダーは、適切な順で混合できる。
例えば、前記粉末がチタンを含む時、前記遠心力の段階的適用は、前記粒子の加熱を最小化し、酸化及び/又は燃焼の危険性を最小化する。特に好ましい実施形態において、前記二重非対称遠心力は、その間に冷却時間を有するように段階的に適用される。
実施例1
カナダのAdvacned Powder&Coatings社のCPTiおよびTi6Al4V粉末(<45μm、球状)は、Woodbridge、SuffolkにあるEgide UKで開発された商業バインダーと混合される。混合は、均質な原料組成物を作るために、1時間、Winkworth社製Z−ブレードミキサを用いて行われる。
混合後、原料組成物は、射出成形工程で使用される微粒子状にさらに処理される。
前述した粉末と有機バインダーは、実施例1のように相当量のパラジウムブラック(Alfa Aesar)をさらに含み、Pdブラックの原料混合物内に存在するチタンまたはチタン合金の約0.2重量%を形成した。
原料製造前のステップにおいて、CPTiおよびTi6Al4V粉末は、まず、二重非対称遠心力技術を利用してパラジウムでコーティングされた。この実施例に関し、コーティングのために使用されたパラジウムは、パラジウムブラックの形態であった。
実施例1ないし3で製造された前記粒状化処理済みの金属粉末は、「グリーン」鋳造部分で成形され、それぞれはデザインが複雑であるが、全体として5cm2の容積を有し、Arburg Allrounder 270 Centex 40 Ton射出成形機械を用いた。機械条件は、モールドの効率的で完全な充填と成形部分の射出を保障するために適合させた。
加熱焼結工程前にバインダー相の大部分を除去するために、実施例4で製造された成形「グリーン」部分は、加熱処理工程を経た。「グリーン」部分は、酸素含有雰囲気で加熱され換気される区域(Genlab−bespokeオーブン)で維持された。全体の加熱サイクルは、24時間以上の間持続された。
実施例5で製造された不完全な「ブラウン」部分は、加熱サイクルを利用して高温真空オーブン(Centorr Vacuum Industries MIM−Vac M200 Vacuum/Controlled Atmsphere Debind and Sinter furnace、Series 3570)内で焼結された。全体の焼結工程過程およびここに用いられた加熱サイクル中に、サイクル内の特定の地点でガスストリームを焼結炉内に導入可能で、時には好ましい。例えば、水素、窒素、アルゴンまたは酸素が全体の加熱焼結工程におけるいずれの地点ですべて存在することができる。
この実施例の場合、若干のアルゴンガスが典型的に1−20L/minで導入され、これは、標準方法を用いて最初に酸素を洗浄する。
実施例1ないし6の前述した金属射出成形工程により製造された固体CPTi+0.2重量%Pd合金の腐食挙動が処理されたチタン等級(等級2(CPTi)および等級7(Pd−0.2Ti)−いずれもTimet UK Ltd.製品)のそれと比較された。
分極曲線が1200gritでグラウンドされ、脱イオン水で洗浄され、エタノールで洗浄後乾燥した表面で測定された。テストは、表面のクリーニング後に、直ちに2MのHCL150ml、37℃で行われた。
Claims (16)
- 物質内で炭素及び/又は酸素含有量を調整する方法であって、
a)少なくとも1つの粉末と、少なくとも1つの白金族金属と、および少なくとも1つのバインダーとを備えてなる原料組成物を形成し、及び
b)粉末射出成形により物質を形成することを含んでなるものであり、
前記炭素及び/又は酸素の少なくとも一部が、前記少なくとも1つの白金族金属による触媒除去されるものであり、
前記触媒除去が、熱的に誘導されるものであり、かつ、少なくとも1種の反応性ガスを含む雰囲気中で生じることを特徴とする、方法。 - 前記原料組成物が、前記粉末と、前記白金族金属と、及び前記バインダーとの混合物である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記白金族金属が、前記粉末にコーティングされてなる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記白金族金属が、低エネルギーボールミリングにより、無電解めっきにより、還元的化学蒸着により、又は、二重非対称遠心力を使用することにより、前記粉末にコーティングされてなる、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記白金族金属が、二重非対称遠心力を使用して前記粉末にコーティングされてなる、請求項3又は4に記載の方法。
- 前記コーティングが、フィルム形態または単粒子形態である、請求項3〜5の何れか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記粉末が、チタン、モリブデン、タングステン、ニッケルまたは鉄のうちの少なくとも1つを含んでなる、請求項1〜6の何れか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記粉末が、シリコン、ジルコニウム、アルミニウム、イットリウム、セリウム、チタンまたはタングステンのうちの少なくとも1つを含んでなる、請求項1〜6の何れか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記粉末が、実質的に球状、不規則(でこぼこ)状またはこれらの組み合わせである粒子を含んでなる、請求項1〜8の何れか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記白金族金属が、白金、パラジウム、ロジウム、ルテニウム、イリジウムおよびオスミウムのうちの少なくとも1つからなる群より選択されてなる、請求項1〜9の何れか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記白金族金属が、白金およびパラジウムのうちの少なくとも1つからなる群から選択されてなる、請求項1〜10の何れか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記物質が、合金またはサーメットである、請求項1〜11の何れか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記合金が、チタンを含んでなる、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記熱的に誘導される触媒除去が、熱的バインダー除去、焼結またはそれらの組み合わせの間に発生する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記炭素及び/又は酸素含有量が、プロセスガスの調整によりさらに調整されてなる、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記触媒除去が、前記少なくとも1種の反応性ガスを含む、酸化または還元雰囲気中で行われる、請求項1〜15の何れか一項に記載の方法。
