Description
エンジン1の各部位には各種センサが取り付けられており、それぞれの部位において環境条件やエンジン1の運転状態に関連する信号を出力する。例えば、クランクシャフトが一定角度回転する毎にクランクポジションセンサ40が検出信号(パルス)を出力する。前記レール圧センサ41は、コモンレール20内に蓄えられている燃料の圧力に応じた検出信号を出力し、スロットル開度センサ42は吸気絞り弁62の開度に応じた検出信号を出力し、エアフローメータ43は、吸気絞り弁62よりも上流側の吸気通路6における吸気の流量(吸気量)に応じた検出信号を出力する。
ECU100は、図示しないCPU、ROM、RAM等からなるマイクロコンピュータと入出力回路とを備えており、その入力回路には、前記のレール圧センサ41、スロットル開度センサ42、エアフローメータ43、A/Fセンサ441,442、排気温センサ451,452、水温センサ46、アクセル開度センサ47、吸気圧センサ48、吸気温センサ49、EGR開度センサ50などが接続されている。
一般的にディーゼルエンジン1においては、大部分の運転領域で排気の空燃比はリーンになるので、酸素濃度の高い排気中においてNOxがDe−NOx触媒74に吸蔵されてゆき、その吸蔵量の増大に連れてDe−NOx触媒74のNOx吸蔵能力が徐々に低下してゆく。そこで、エンジン1の運転履歴などに基づいて推定されるNOx吸蔵量が所定の閾値(De−NOx触媒74のNOx吸蔵能力が飽和する前の適値)に達すれば、NOx還元制御が行われる。
ところで、前記のようにNOx還元制御の際にポスト噴射された燃料の多くは、高温の燃焼ガス中において熱分解されつつ、その多くは未燃状態で排気マニホルド72に流出し、排気管73内を流通してDe−NOx触媒74に到達する。こうして燃料(軽油)が熱分解されることにより、低級な(炭素数の少ない)HCの割合が増えることになって、NOx還元制御が効率よく行われる。
以下、本実施形態においてECU100によって行われるNOx還元制御の具体的な手順を図7のフローチャートに沿って説明する。このフローチャートはエンジン1の運転中に所定のタイミングで実行される。
以上、説明した実施形態では、自動車に搭載されたコモンレール式のディーゼルエンジン1に本発明を適用した場合について説明したが、本発明は、自動車用に限らず、その他の用途に使用されるエンジンにも適用可能である。また、気筒数やエンジン形式(直列型エンジン、V型エンジン、水平対向型エンジン等の別)についても特に限定されるものではない。

Claims (5)
- 気筒内に燃料を噴射する燃料噴射弁と、排気通路に配設された排気浄化装置と、この排気浄化装置の浄化性能を回復させる回復制御の際に、前記燃料噴射弁により燃料の主噴射の後の膨張行程で後噴射を行わせて、前記回復制御の始まる前と比べて排気の空燃比をリッチ化させる燃料噴射制御手段と、を備えたディーゼルエンジンの制御装置において、
前記排気通路から排気の一部を吸気通路へ再循環させるEGR通路と、このEGR通路を開閉可能なEGRバルブと、このEGRバルブの開閉制御を行うEGR制御手段とを備え、
前記回復制御の際に前記EGR制御手段によってEGRバルブを開いて、EGR通路にEGRガスを流通させる場合は、このEGRガスの流通後であって前記後噴射の実行前に筒内温度が1150Kよりも高い状態のときに、前記燃料噴射制御手段によって前記後噴射を実行する構成として、
前記EGR通路の壁面へのPMの付着力を弱くすることにより、当該EGR通路におけるデポジットの堆積を抑制することを特徴とするディーゼルエンジンの制御装置。 - 請求項1に記載のディーゼルエンジンの制御装置において、
前記燃料噴射制御手段は、前記回復制御の際に前記EGR制御手段によってEGRバルブを開いて、EGR通路にEGRガスを流通させる場合は、このEGRガスの流通後であって前記後噴射の実行前に筒内温度が1250K以上の状態のときに、後噴射を実行する、ディーゼルエンジンの制御装置。 - 請求項1または2のいずれかに記載のディーゼルエンジンの制御装置において、
前記燃料噴射制御手段は、後噴射された燃料の燃焼による筒内温度のピーク値が1800K以下となるように、当該後噴射を実行する、ディーゼルエンジンの制御装置。 - 請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載のディーゼルエンジンの制御装置において、
前記後噴射のタイミングは、エンジンの目標トルクおよび回転数に応じて予めマップに設定されており、
前記吸気通路を流通する吸気の温度を検出する吸気温検出手段を備え、
前記燃料噴射制御手段は、前記回復制御の際に前記マップを参照して決定した後噴射のタイミングを、前記検出した吸気の温度が高いほど遅角側に補正する、ディーゼルエンジンの制御装置。 - 請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載のディーゼルエンジンの制御装置において、
前記EGR制御手段は、前記回復制御の際に前記EGRバルブを開いて、EGR通路におけるEGRガスの流量を増大させる、ディーゼルエンジンの制御装置。
