Description
図1は、実施形態に係る車両走行制御装置を備える車両Vの構成を説明するブロック図である。図1に示すように、乗用車などの車両Vには、車両システム100が搭載されている。車両システム100は、車両Vの進行方向の前方を走行する先行車両によって取得された情報を車車間通信により取得し、運転支援又は走行制御に利用するシステムである。車両システム100は、後述するように、車両Vの走行位置を制御する第1実施形態に係る車両走行制御装置20を備えている。以下、車両システム100の構成を説明する。
次に、第2実施形態に係る車両走行制御装置について説明する。本実施形態の説明では、第1実施形態と同一の構成及び処理については説明を省略し、第1実施形態と異なる点について説明する。

このように、走行計画生成部14Cは、通信可能範囲E1を短く変更する。図10では、通信可能範囲E1が通信可能範囲E2へ変更され、通信距離k0が通信距離k1へ変更された例を示している。つまり、電波遮蔽を考慮しない場合、車両a2は車車間通信可能な先行車両であるが、電波遮蔽を考慮した場合、車両a2は車車間通信可能な先行車両ではなくなることになる。
上述した各実施形態は、それぞれ組み合わせて実行されてもよい。
上述した実施形態では、現時点での外部状況(車車間通信可能な他車両の走行位置)などに基づいて車両Vの走行計画を決定する例を説明したが、走行計画生成部14は、目的地までのルートを選定する段階で、車車間通信可能な車両の台数が多いルート、電波遮蔽が起こりにくい地形(山間部よりも平野部)を走行するルートなどを優先的に選定するように構成してもよい。例えば、走行計画生成部14は、目的地までの複数のルートが存在する場合に、車車間通信可能な車両の台数が多いほど大きくなる優先度をルート毎に算出し、最も優先度の高いルートを採用する。このように構成した場合には、上述した車両走行制御装置は、より一層多くの先行車両から情報を取得することができる。
上述した各実施形態では、車両システム100は、車両Vの進行方向の前方を走行する先行車両によって取得された情報を車車間通信により取得し、運転支援又は走行制御に利用するシステムである旨を説明した。以下では、車両システム100の運転支援又は走行制御の一例を説明する。
上述した実施形態では、車両走行制御装置が自動運転を行う車両システム100に組み込まれた例を説明したが、本発明においては一般的な自動運転機能は必須ではなく、外部状況を認識し、より多くの車車間通信可能な先行車両が存在する走行位置へ車両Vを走行させることができれば必要十分である。
上述した実施形態において、車車間通信を行う通信部5だけでなく、路車間通信を行う通信部を備え、交通情報を管理する情報管理センターなどの施設のコンピュータとの通信により、先行車両の位置情報及び車両情報を取得してもよい。例えば、道路脇に設けられた路側送受信機(例えば光ビーコン、ITS[Intelligent Transport Systems]スポットなど)との路車間通信により、情報が取得されてもよい。

- 先行車両と車車間通信する通信部を有する車両の走行を制御する車両走行制御装置であって、
前記車両の周囲に存在する車車間通信可能な前記先行車両及び後続車両の位置情報を取得する位置情報取得部と、
前記位置情報取得部により得られた前記位置情報及び前記通信部の通信可能範囲に基づいて、車車間通信可能な前記先行車両の台数を基準台数として算出するとともに、前記後続車両の後続となる走行位置で前記車両が走行するとした場合における車車間通信可能な前記先行車両の台数を推定台数として算出する台数算出部と、
前記推定台数が前記基準台数よりも多い場合、前記車両を前記後続車両の後続となる前記走行位置で前記車両を走行させる走行制御部と、
を備える車両走行制御装置。 - 先行車両と車車間通信する通信部を有する車両の走行を制御する車両走行制御装置であって、
前記車両の周囲に存在する車車間通信可能な前記先行車両及び後続車両の位置情報を取得する位置情報取得部と、
前記位置情報取得部により得られた前記位置情報及び前記通信部の通信可能範囲に基づいて、車車間通信可能な前記先行車両の台数を算出する台数算出部と、
前記台数算出部の算出結果に基づいて前記車両を走行させる走行制御部と、
を備え、
前記台数算出部は、車車間通信可能な前記先行車両の台数である基準台数が所定閾値未満であり、かつ、車車間通信可能な前記後続車両が少なくとも1台存在する場合には、前記後続車両の後続となる走行位置ごとに、当該走行位置で前記車両が走行するとした場合における車車間通信可能な前記先行車両の台数を推定台数として算出し、
前記走行制御部は、前記推定台数が最大かつ前記基準台数より多くなる前記走行位置、又は、前記推定台数が前記所定閾値以上となる前記走行位置で前記車両を走行させる、
車両走行制御装置。 - 前記車両の周囲に存在する他車両の車種情報を取得する車種情報取得部をさらに備え、
前記位置情報取得部は、前記車両の周囲に存在する前記他車両の位置情報をさらに取得し、
前記台数算出部は、前記他車両の位置情報及び車種情報を用いて、前記通信可能範囲を変更する請求項1又は2に記載の車両走行制御装置。
