Claims (7)
- クランクシャフトに接続されてシリンダー内で往復動可能なピストンと、該ピストンによって一部が画定される燃焼室と、シリンダーに対して固定されたバルブハウジング内で滑動するよう密着した状態で回転可能なロータリーバルブとを備え、該ロータリーバルブは、燃焼室を部分的に画定する容積部を含むバルブボディと、その壁部にポートを有し、該ポートは、バルブの回転中、バルブハウジングの吸排気ポートを介して燃焼室への及び燃焼室からの連続的な流体流通を生じさせ、
動作中のバルブボディとバルブハウジングとの間の隙間が増加する場合はバルブボディからバルブハウジングへの熱伝導が減少して隙間を減少させるようバルブボディの加熱が生じる一方、隙間が減少する場合は熱伝導が増加してより多くの熱がバルブハウジングに伝達されてバルブボディの温度が低下するよう、バルブボディ及びバルブハウジングの基材はアルミニウムであり、これによりロータリーバルブのメインボディの表面とバルブハウジングの隣接表面との間でシール機能が達成されるとともに、そのシール機能の総てが、ロータリーバルブのボディ表面とバルブハウジングの表面との間でのみ達成され、ロータリーバルブ又はバルブハウジング内に組み込まれた追加の密封装置が存在しない、ロータリーバルブ内燃エンジン。 - 前記アルミニウムは、最大5%の銅含有量のアルミニウム合金である、請求項1に記載のロータリーバルブ内燃エンジン。
- 前記アルミニウムは、共晶アルミニウムである、請求項1に記載のロータリーバルブ内燃エンジン。
- バルブボディとバルブハウジングの一方又は両方の接触面が硬化表面を備えている、請求項1に記載のロータリーバルブ内燃エンジン。
- 硬化表面は、陽極酸化アルミニウム、セラミック若しくはシリコンカーバイドコーティング、ダイヤモンドライクカーボンコーディング、又は、プラズマ窒化表面である、請求項4に記載のロータリーバルブ内燃エンジン。
- バルブのポートは、燃焼室に隣接するバルブボディの壁部の下側周縁部に形成された凹部であり、該凹部は、バルブの側部にポートを形成するようにバルブの壁部の下側周縁部から上方に延びている、請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載のロータリーバルブ内燃エンジン。
- バルブ内のポートは、バルブボディの壁部内の孔であり、該壁部は、燃焼室に隣接してポートの下に形成されたリップを有する、請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載のロータリーバルブ内燃エンジン。
