試験組成物1は、ジメチルイソソルビド(0.4% w/w)及び水(100% w/wとするのに十分な量)中に希釈されたカプリロヒドロキサム酸(0.15% w/w)を含有するように調製した。試験組成物2は、試験組成物1と同じ溶剤中に希釈されたアスコルビン酸(0.5% w/w)を含有した。最後に、試験組成物3は、試験組成物1及び2と同様に希釈された、カプリロヒドロキサム酸(0.15% w/w)及びアスコルビン酸(0.5% w/w)の両方を含有するように調製した。

- 相乗的に有効な比率のアルキルヒドロキサム酸、その塩及び/又は錯体の量と、抗酸化剤の量とを含む組成物(ここで、相乗的に有効な比率とは、アルキルヒドロキサム酸、その塩及び/又は錯体と抗酸化剤とが、脂質過酸化の低減作用に関して相乗的作用を奏する比率で存在することを意味し、相乗的作用を奏するとは、Kullの式に従った相乗性指数が1.0未満であることを意味する)。
- 相乗的に有効な比率のアルキルヒドロキサム酸、その塩及び/又は錯体の量と、抗酸化剤の量とを含み、脂質が紫外光に曝されるときの脂質過酸化を低減又は抑制することができる、組成物(ここで、相乗的に有効な比率とは、アルキルヒドロキサム酸、その塩及び/又は錯体と抗酸化剤とが、脂質過酸化の低減作用に関して相乗的作用を奏する比率で存在することを意味し、相乗的作用を奏するとは、Kullの式で評価される相乗性指数が1.0未満であることを意味する)。
