Description
(a)アラミドとセルロースの第1層であって、
(i)アラミドは、0〜50重量パーセントのフロックと50〜100重量パーセントのフィブリドの量のメタアラミドとして存在し、
(ii)セルロースは、セルロース系パルプ繊維の形で存在し;かつ
(iii)アラミドは、16〜75重量パーセントの量で存在し、
セルロースが25〜84重量パーセントの量で存在し、
前記百分率はアラミドとセルロースに基づくものである、第1層と、
(b)セルロース系パルプ繊維を含む第2層であって、ここで、第2層がアラミドを含まないことを条件とする、第2層と
を含む多層構造体に向けられている。
(ii) セルロースは、セルロース系パルプ繊維の形で存在する。
以下で提供する実施例においては、次の試験方法が使用された。
100重量パーセントのセルロース系パルプ繊維2層から、2層紙構造体を作製した。各層を、Celco Company(Chile)製のセルロース系木材パルプ(針葉樹)3gの水性分散液から調製した。パルプを、250mlのカナダ規格濾水度まで精製した。水性分散液を8リットルの水と共に、21×21cmのハンドシートモールド内に注ぎ込み、ウェットレイドシートを形成させた。セルロース系パルプ繊維の2枚のウェットレイドシートを2枚の吸い取り紙の間に合わせて置き、麺棒を用いてハンドクーチ(hand couch)し、ハンドシート乾燥機内で10分間150℃で乾燥させた。乾燥させた2層シートを、金属ロールを80℃まで加熱した状態で、金属ロールとソフトロールの間で2800N/cmの線形圧力でカレンダー加工した。結果として得られた2層紙構造体の特性は、表に列挙されている。
本発明に係る2層紙構造体を、アラミドを含む1層とアラミドを含まない1層から作製した。アラミド含有層は、乾燥されたことのないポリ(メタフェニレンイソフタルアミド)フィブリドスラリーの水性分散液から調製した。米国特許第3,756,908号明細書中に一般的に記載されている要領でメタアラミドフィブリドを作製し、フィブリドは330mlのショッパ・リグラー型濾水度を有していた。
アラミド含有量100重量パーセントの2層から、2層紙構造体を作製した。層は、セルロース系パルプ繊維無しで100%のアラミド含有量を使用したという点を除き、実施例1〜4に記載のアラミド含有層方法を用いて、層を作製した。結果として得られた2層紙構造体の特性は、表に列挙されている。
典型的な先行技術紙構造体を例証する単層紙構造体を作製した。水性分散液として70重量パーセントのセルロース系木材パルプ、ポリマー結合剤としての20重量パーセントのElvanol(登録商標)70−62ポリ(ビニルアルコール)(Du Pont Companyより入手可)および10重量パーセントのアラミドフロックを使用したという点を除いて、実施例1〜4に記載のアラミド含有層方法を用いて層を作製した。メタアラミドフロックは、線密度0.22tex、長さ0.64cmのポリ(メタフェニレンイソフタルアミド)フロックであった(Du Pont CompanyよりNOMEX(登録商標)の商標名で販売)。結果として得られた2層紙構造体の特性は、表に列挙されている。
4本の成形用シリンダを用いて、マルチシリンダ製紙機上で3層構造体をもつ紙を形成させた。
一次および二次ヘッドボックスの備わった長網抄紙機上で2層構造体を形成させた。

1.(a)アラミドとセルロースを含む第1層であって、
(i)前記アラミドは、0〜50重量パーセントのフロックと50〜100重量パーセントのフィブリドの量のメタアラミドとして存在し、
(ii)前記セルロースは、セルロース系パルプ繊維の形で存在し;かつ
(iii)前記アラミドは、16〜75重量パーセントの量で存在し、前記セルロースが25〜84重量パーセントの量で存在し、前記百分率はアラミドとセルロースに基づくものである、第1層と、
(b)セルロース系パルプ繊維を含む第2層であって、前記第2層がアラミドを含まないことを条件とする、第2層と
を含む多層構造体。
2. 前記アラミドがポリ(メタフェニレンイソフタルアミド)である、上記1に記載の多層構造体。
3. 前記第1層がポリマー結合剤を全く含まない、上記1に記載の多層構造体。
4. 前記第1層が25〜50重量パーセントのアラミドと50〜75重量パーセントのセルロースを含む、上記1に記載の多層構造体。
5. 前記第1層が、0.5〜4.0の重量比で存在するフロックとフィブリドを含む、上記1に記載の多層構造体。
6. 前記重量比が0.8〜2.0である、上記5に記載の多層構造体。
7. 少なくとも1つの追加層を有し、前記追加層が、
(a)アラミドとセルロースを含む層であって、
(i)前記アラミドは、0〜50重量パーセントのフロックと50〜100重量パーセントのフィブリドの量のメタアラミドとして存在し、
(ii)前記セルロースは、セルロース系パルプ繊維の形で存在し;かつ
(iii)前記アラミドは、16〜75重量パーセントの量で存在し、
前記セルロースが25〜84重量パーセントの量で存在し、
前記百分率はアラミドとセルロースに基づくものである、層、または、
(b)セルロース系パルプ繊維を含む追加層であって、ここで、前記第2層がアラミドを含まないことを条件とする、追加層
を含む、上記1に記載の多層構造体。
8. 両方の追加層が存在する、上記7に記載の多層構造体。
9. 追加層が前記第1層または第2層と同一である、上記7に記載の多層構造体。
10. 導電体と電気絶縁性多層構造体材料とを含むデバイスであって、多層構造体材料が、
(a)アラミドとセルロースを含む第1層であって、
(i)前記アラミドは、0〜50重量パーセントのフロックと50〜100重量パーセントのフィブリドの量のメタアラミドとして存在し、
(ii)前記セルロースは、セルロース系パルプ繊維の形で存在し;かつ
(iii)前記アラミドは、16〜75重量パーセントの量で存在し、
前記セルロースが25〜84重量パーセントの量で存在し、
前記百分率はアラミドとセルロースに基づくものである、第1層と、
(b) セルロース系パルプ繊維を含む第2層であって、ここで、前記第2層がアラミドを含まないことを条件とする、第2層と、

Claims (4)
- (a)アラミドとセルロースを含む第1層であって、
(i)前記アラミドは、0〜50重量パーセントのフロックと50〜100重量パーセントのフィブリドの量のメタアラミドとして存在し、
(ii)前記セルロースは、セルロース系パルプ繊維の形で存在し;かつ

(i)前記アラミドは、0〜50重量パーセントのフロックと50〜100重量パーセントのフィブリドの量のメタアラミドとして存在し、
(ii)前記セルロースは、セルロース系パルプ繊維の形で存在し;かつ
(iii)前記アラミドは、16〜75重量パーセントの量で存在し、前記セルロースが25〜84重量パーセントの量で存在し、前記百分率はアラミドとセルロースに基づくものである、第3層と、
を上記の順に含む、電気絶縁性多層紙構造体。 - 前記アラミドがポリ(メタフェニレンイソフタルアミド)である、請求項1に記載の電気絶縁性多層紙構造体。
- 前記第1層および第3層がポリマー結合剤を全く含まない、請求項1に記載の電気絶縁性多層紙構造体。
- 前記第1層および第3層が25〜50重量パーセントのアラミドと50〜75重量パーセントのセルロースを含む、請求項1に記載の電気絶縁性多層紙構造体。
