Description
Claims (4)
- 第1のガス拡散層の外側横方向縁部、膜電極アッセンブリの外側横方向縁部および第2のガス拡散層の外側横方向縁部の少なくとも1つを通る燃料電池の流体の流れを制限するシールを備え、
前記燃料電池は、互いに対向した一対の第1の外側側部と、前記第1の外側側部と直交する、互いに対向した一対の第2の外側側部と、を有し、
前記膜電極アッセンブリは、高分子電解質膜を含み、前記第1のガス拡散層は、前記高分子電解質膜の一方の側に沿って配置され、前記第2のガス拡散層は、前記高分子電解質膜の他方の側に沿って配置され、
前記高分子電解質膜は、4つの側部を有する正方形をなし、前記第1のガス拡散層および前記第2のガス拡散層は、いずれも、一対の長い側部と、一対の短い側部とを有する長方形をなしており、
前記第1のガス拡散層は、前記短い側部が前記燃料電池の前記第1の外側側部の側に位置し、前記長い側部が前記第2の外側側部の側に位置し、前記第2のガス拡散層は、前記長い側部が前記第1の外側側部の側に位置し、前記短い側部が前記第2の外側側部の側に位置して、前記第1のガス拡散層の前記長い側部が前記第2のガス拡散層の前記長い側部と直交しており、
前記一対の第1の外側側部において、前記第1のガス拡散層の短い側部は、前記第2のガス拡散層の長い側部を越えて外側に延びており、前記第2のガス拡散層の長い側部と、前記第1のガス拡散層の短い側部と、の間に、前記高分子電解質膜の対向する一対の側部がそれぞれ位置しており、
前記第1のガス拡散層、前記高分子電解質膜および前記第2のガス拡散層の前記外側横方向縁部は、各々の4つの側部に沿っており、
前記シールは、前記第1のガス拡散層、前記膜電極アッセンブリおよび前記第2のガス拡散層の周縁部分に取り付けられており、前記周縁部分は前記第1のガス拡散層、前記膜電極アッセンブリおよび前記第2のガス拡散層の各々の外側横方向縁部を含むことを特徴とする燃料電池のシールアッセンブリ。 - 前記シールの一部が、前記第1のガス拡散層、前記膜電極アッセンブリおよび前記第2のガス拡散層の少なくとも1つの一部内に充填されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の燃料電池のシールアッセンブリ。
- 前記シールは、前記第1のガス拡散層と向かい合って配置されているプレートに対してシールするように構成された少なくとも1つのシールビードを備え、前記プレートは、前記第1のガス拡散層に燃料を運び、前記第2のガス拡散層に酸化剤を運ぶチャネルを形成することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の燃料電池のシールアッセンブリ。
- 前記第2のガス拡散層の前記短い側部は、前記燃料電池の前記第2の外側側部において、前記第1のガス拡散層の前記長い側部を越えて外側に延びていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の燃料電池のシールアッセンブリ。
