Description
本願は、2010年7月22日に、米国国内企業であるDonaldson Company,Inc.(米国を除く全ての国の指定についての出願人)および米国民であるKirit Patel(米国のみの指定についての出願人)の名において、PCT国際特許出願として出願されるものであり、2009年7月22日に出願された米国仮特許出願第61/227,784号に対する優先権を主張しており、この仮特許出願の内容は、参照により本明細書に援用される。
図1を参照すると、実施例実施形態のフィルター媒体構築物10は、上流側媒体層20と、二成分(PE/PET)層30と、ベース層40との少なくとも3層を含む。使用において、気流は、上流側媒体層20から出発し、二成分層30を通過し、ベース層40を通って出る。
本発明は、様々な材料を用いて構築され得る。定義上HEPAフィルターは直径0.3μmの空中浮揚の粒子の少なくとも99.97%を除去するものであるから、HEPA濾過材が好ましい。しかしながら、フィルターの構築物であることから、本発明のフィルターを構築するために使用される出発材料がHEPA効率ではなくても、フィルター媒体構築物全体はHEPA効率となり得る。1つの実施形態において、ポリテトラフルオロエチレン(PTFE)が、上流側媒体層に使用される。発泡PTFE(ePTFE)もまた、本発明において利用され得る。典型的に、ePTFE媒体は、非常に大きい圧力低下および適度のHEPA効率を有している。
Claims (2)
- PTFEを含む、上流側に配置される非HEPA効率の上流側媒体層と、
二つの成分としてポリエチレンとポリエチレンテレフタレートを含み、不織布として構成される二成分層と、
活性炭およびナノ繊維を含むベース媒体層と
を含み、
上流側媒体層は、二成分層によりベース媒体層に結合され、
上流側媒体層、二成分層およびベース媒体層を含む層全体としてHEPA効率である、多層フィルター媒体構築物。
- ベース媒体層は、最低45%の活性炭を含む、請求項1に記載の多層フィルター媒体構築物。
