Description
[触媒の調製]
約1.5mmの直径を有する高表面積(約200m2g-1)ガンマ-アルミナ(以下、γ-Al2O3と称する)の管状ペレットを、僅かに酸性の触媒として、また、モリブデン、鉄、コバルト、クロム及びパラジウム金属の固体担体として用いた。金属でドーピングされたγ-Al2O3触媒を、適当な金属塩の1M水溶液を用いて、湿式含侵法によって調製した。
触媒は、まず反応管から取り出し、ルツボに入れ、次いで、空気中、350℃で12時間焼成することによって再生することができる。
触媒は、8時間に亘る実験の間に、一定の僅かな失活を示すため、触媒系の長期安定性の研究が促された。一連の4サイクルの8時間連続実験を、それぞれの場合に同一の触媒物質を用いて実施した。第1サイクルでは、4gの新たに調製した0.38%Pd-γAl2O3触媒を用いて約92%のp-シメンを得て、8時間に渡り、僅かな失活/p-シメン収率の低下を示しただけであり、反応によって生成される水素の量も一定のままであった。反応を停止させ、使用した触媒を少量取り出し、TGAによる分析のために保存した。3gの使用した触媒を、350℃で12時間焼成することによって再生させた後、第2サイクルに用いた。p-シメン(約90%)の高収率が再び観察され、新鮮な触媒に非常に近い変換率を示したが、8時間の連続運転に亘って、p-シメンの収率が約85%にまで低下した。触媒を取り出し、TGA分析のための試料を保存し、残りに再び再焼成を行った。第3サイクルも、最初は、p-シメンの高収率>85%を示し、その後8時間に亘って、触媒活性が約80%にまで漸減した。再び、実験の終わりに、使用した触媒を取り出してTGAによって分析し、次いで、焼成によって再生させた。この触媒を、第4サイクルに用い、シネオールのp-シメンへの変換に対する高い触媒活性を再び観察する。このサイクルでは、触媒活性の僅かに速やかな低下が認められ、8時間後に、約75%の収率で終了する。1回目を除いて、水素の収率は、再生した触媒の全てで、比較的一定のままである(Table 3 (表3)及び7(表7)参照)。
表面分析の前に、VacPrep 061脱ガス装置を用い、試料を、真空下、300℃で一夜脱ガスした。BET表面積は、Micromeretics Tristar 3000を用い、77KでN2吸着によって求めた。XRD測定は、Cu-K α(1.542Å)線(40kV、25mA)で、Phillips DW 1130装置を用い、0.1°のステップサイズ、1°min-1の走査速度で、5°〜80°の2θの範囲に渡って、実施した。
全ての反応は、注文設計した熱分解装置(pyrolysis rig)を用いて実施した。シネオールの蒸気相触媒変換は、電気加熱した管状下降流反応器(13.5mmの内径、300mmの長さ)を用い、大気圧で、触媒を固定床として保持して実施した。K型熱電対を用いて、床の温度をモニターした。供給ガスによる冷却に起因する床温度のいくらかの変動が全ての実験で見られた。熱電対、炉、加熱バンド及びマスフローコントローラ(MFC)の全てを管理し、データは、特別設計のソフトウェアを用いて記録した。
大多数の試料で得られた液体生成物は、オイル状の疎水性相と水性相とからなっていた。疎水性液体生成物の分析は、Graceからの15M×0.1mm ID-BPX5 0.1μMカラムを装備した、Thermo Finnigan GCMSを用い、Thermo Scientific Triplusオートサンプラーを用いて実施した。分析のために、内部標準として0.1%のメシチレン(Aldrich)を添加した1.5mLのアセトニトリル(Aldrich)に、10μLの疎水性相を溶解させた。1,8-シネオール、p-シメン、及びジペンテンのクロマトグラフィー用標準を、同じ試料調製法を用いて分析した。主生成物のp-シメンは、1H及び13C NMRによって確認した。p-シメンの収率は、全疎水性相中のp-シメンのパーセンテージと定義される。p-シメンの選択性は、シネオールを除く疎水性相のフラクション中のp-シメンのパーセンテージとして定義される。特に指示しない限り、シネオールを除く疎水性相のフラクションは、スキーム1に示される生成物からなっていた。親水性相は、主として水であることが分かった。
気体生成物の分析は、1mLの試料ループを有するValcoサンプリングバルブを装備したオンラインShimadzu GC 8Aにより実施した。このGCは、12mのHAYESEP Qカラム、及び熱伝導度検出器(TCD)を装備していた。GCは、各運転の前に、混合キャリアガス、さらには、既知濃度の水素、ヘリウム、メタン、窒素、一酸化炭素、及び二酸化炭素を含む校正ガス混合物により校正した。オンラインガス分析は、液体試料の捕集時に実施した。
[触媒の特性評価]
湿式含侵法によって調製した、金属をドーピングしたγ-Al2O3触媒について、XRDパターンを測定した。金属をドーピングしたγ-Al2O3試料はいずれも、担体物質と、ドーピングされた金属とに関連するXRDパターンを示す。
熱分解プロセスの生成物を、3つの相:疎水性相、親水性相、及び気体相に分離した。全ての実験において、親水性相は、主として水であることが明らかとなり、他方、疎水性相は、一般に、芳香族C10炭化水素及び非芳香族C10炭化水素の両方の混合物を含み、主生成物としてジペンテン及びp-シメンを含んでいた。生成した主な気体は、水素、一酸化炭素、及び二酸化炭素であった。
[一般的変温実験]
典型的な変温実験では、3gの触媒をステンレス鋼メッシュバスケットに充填し、これを、管状反応器内に置いた。炉を、250℃の初期温度に設定し、1時間、安定化させた。シネオールを、ISCO 500Dシリンジポンプを用いて0.5mL min-1の速度で、予備ヒーターの上流に注入した。キャリアガスを、150mL min-1の一定速度で供給した。平衡に達した後、気体試料を採取し、液体生成物を捕集した。次いで、炉の温度を、50℃だけ上げ、その手順を、500℃の最終反応温度に達するまで繰り返した。他の実験パラメータの概略を、下記Table 2 (表2)に示す。
典型的な固定温度床実験では、4gの触媒をステンレス鋼メッシュバスケットに充填し、このバスケットを、管状反応器内に置いた。炉を、床温度が所望の温度となるように設定し、1時間、安定化させた。シネオールを、ISCO 500Dシリンジポンプを用いて0.3mL min-1の速度で、予備ヒーターの上流に注入した。キャリアガスを、150mL min-1の一定速度で供給した。平衡に達した後、気体試料を採取し、液体生成物を捕集した。他の実験パラメータは、下で、Table 3 (表3)に概略を示す。
ガラスビーズを用いた全ての実験で、シネオールは、比較的、変わらないままであった。
各試料についての分析データを、下記Table 8 (表8)〜10(表10)に示す。
Claims (17)
- ガンマ-アルミナに担持された遷移金属触媒の存在下で1,8-シネオールを熱分解する工程を含む、1,8-シネオールからの不飽和環状化合物及び/又は芳香族化合物の製造方法であって、
遷移金属が、バナジウム、マンガン、ニッケル、及びルテニウムの1種又は複数種から選択される、方法。 - 不飽和環状化合物及び/又は芳香族化合物が、モノテルペノイドである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 不飽和環状化合物及び/又は芳香族化合物が、C10モノテルペノイドである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 不飽和環状化合物及び/又は芳香族化合物が、ジペンテン及びp-シメンから選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。

- 熱分解が、ガンマ-アルミナに担持された遷移金属触媒を、気化させた1,8-シネオールと接触させる工程を含む、請求項1から8のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記気化させた1,8-シネオールが、窒素、アルゴン、及び酸素から選択されるキャリアガスを含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記気化させた1,8-シネオールが、キャリアガスを含み、熱分解が不活性熱分解として実施される、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記キャリアガスが窒素又はアルゴンを含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- ガンマ-アルミナに担持された遷移金属触媒を、遷移金属塩を含む水溶液中にガンマ-アルミナ担体を浸漬させる工程、得られた遷移金属でドーピングされたガンマ-アルミナ担体を水溶液から単離する工程、及び、単離した前記生成物を焼成して前記触媒を得る工程によって調製する、請求項1から12のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- ガンマ-アルミナに担持された遷移金属触媒を、遷移金属塩を含む水溶液中にガンマ-アルミナ担体を浸漬させる工程、前記溶液から水性液体を蒸発させて遷移金属でドーピングされたガンマ-アルミナ担体を単離する工程、及び、単離した前記生成物を焼成して前記触媒を得る工程によって調製する、請求項1から12のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- ガンマ-アルミナ担体が、約10m2/gを超える表面積を有する、請求項13又は14に記載の方法。
- ガンマ-アルミナに担持された遷移金属触媒が、(ガンマ-アルミナ担体の質量に基づく遷移金属の質量%で)約0.01質量%から約10質量%の1種又は複数の遷移金属を含む、請求項1から15のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 1,8-シネオールからの不飽和環状化合物及び/又は芳香族化合物の製造における、ガンマ-アルミナに担持された遷移金属触媒の使用であって、遷移金属が、バナジウム、マンガン、ニッケル、及びルテニウムの1種又は複数種から選択される、使用。
