Description
実施例は、以上の第1および第2実施例が一緒に具現されることも可能である。
前記パネル50は、前記ゲート駆動部20から提供されたゲート信号と前記データ駆動部40から提供されたデータ電圧を基に映像が表示される。
図3に示すように、前記ガンマ制御モジュール12は、光量検出部101、モード設定部103、ガンマ制御部105および第1〜第3レジスタ107、109、111を含むことができる。
図4は、図1のガンマ電圧発生部を示した回路図である。
図5に示すように、前記抵抗調節部224は、前記バッファ222の出力端に直列連結された第1〜第41抵抗器R1〜R41からなった抵抗ストリングとノード(n)に連結される一方、前記第1〜第41抵抗器R1〜R41中の一つの抵抗器を選択するためにスイッチングされる選択スイッチ(SW)を含むことができる。前記ノード(n)は、前記選択スイッチ(SW)、前記基準抵抗器226および前記バッファ222の入力端に連結される。
Claims (16)
- 第1基準電圧を第2基準電圧に昇圧させる昇圧部であって、前記第1基準電圧は正常モード用基準電圧であり、すなわち、正常モードとはガンマ電圧の変更が行われないモードであり、前記第2基準電圧は前記第1基準電圧より大きい昇圧モード用基準電圧であり、すなわち、昇圧モードとは光量検出部の光量に基づいてガンマ電圧が昇圧されるモードであり、
前記昇圧部は、前記第1基準電圧が入力されるバッファと、前記バッファの出力端に直列連結された抵抗調節部および基準抵抗器と、前記バッファの入力端、前記抵抗調節部および前記基準抵抗器の間に配置されたノードとを含み、前記抵抗調節部によって調節された抵抗値によって前記第1基準電圧が昇圧され、
前記第1基準電圧と第2基準電圧のいずれか一つの基準電圧を選択するモード選択部であって、前記選択された基準電圧は第1階調ガンマ電圧として出力され、前記第1階調ガンマ電圧は255階調ガンマ電圧であり、
前記第1階調ガンマ電圧を除いた多数の階調ガンマ電圧を生成する多数のガンマ電圧調節部と、
を含み、
前記多数のガンマ電圧調節部は、第1ガンマ電圧調節部および残りのガンマ電圧調節部を含み、
前記第1ガンマ電圧調節部は、前記選択された基準電圧を調節して、前記多数の階調ガンマ電圧のうちの第2階調ガンマ電圧を生成し、前記第2階調ガンマ電圧は前記第1階調ガンマ電圧より小さく、
前記残りのガンマ電圧調節部は、カスケード連結され、前記第1および第2階調ガンマ電圧を除いた残りの階調ガンマ電圧を生成するガンマ電圧発生装置。 - 前記第2階調ガンマ電圧は、191階調ガンマ電圧である請求項1に記載のガンマ電圧発生装置。
- 前記モード選択部は、
前記第1基準電圧と前記第2基準電圧のいずれか一つを選択し、前記選択された基準電圧を前記第1階調ガンマ電圧として提供する第1選択器と、
前記第1基準電圧と前記第2基準電圧のいずれか一つを選択し、前記選択された基準電圧を前記第1ガンマ電圧調節部に供給する第2選択器と、を含む請求項1に記載のガンマ電圧発生装置。 - 前記第1選択器と第2選択器のそれぞれは、マルチプレクサである請求項3に記載のガンマ電圧発生装置。
- 前記第2基準電圧は、異なる昇圧幅に応じて前記第1基準電圧から昇圧される請求項1に記載のガンマ電圧発生装置。
- 前記昇圧モードで駆動される時、0階調〜255階調のうちの127階調〜255階調のガンマ電圧に変更される請求項5に記載のガンマ電圧発生装置。
- 前記127階調〜255階調に対するガンマ曲線は、前記異なる昇圧幅に応じて生成される請求項6に記載のガンマ電圧発生装置。
- 前記昇圧部の前端に連結されて前記第1基準電圧を調節する基準電圧設定部をさらに含む請求項1に記載のガンマ電圧発生装置。
- 前記基準電圧設定部は、第3基準電圧を多数の第4基準電圧に分配し、前記多数の第4基準電圧のいずれか一つを前記第1基準電圧として選択する請求項8に記載のガンマ電圧発生装置。
- 光量を検出する光量検出部と、
前記検出された光量に応じて選択制御信号および昇圧制御信号を生成するガンマ制御部と、
前記選択制御信号および昇圧制御信号を基にガンマ電圧を変更するガンマ電圧発生部と、
を含み、
前記ガンマ電圧発生部は、
前記昇圧制御信号を基に第1基準電圧を第2基準電圧に昇圧させる昇圧部であって、前記第1基準電圧は正常モード用基準電圧であり、すなわち、正常モードとは前記ガンマ電圧の変更が行われないモードであり、前記第2基準電圧は前記第1基準電圧より大きい昇圧モード用基準電圧であり、すなわち、昇圧モードとは光量検出部の光量に基づいて前記ガンマ電圧が昇圧されるモードであり、
前記昇圧部は、前記第1基準電圧が入力されるバッファと、前記バッファの出力端に直列連結された抵抗調節部および基準抵抗器と、前記バッファの入力端、前記抵抗調節部および前記基準抵抗器の間に配置されたノードとを含み、前記抵抗調節部によって調節された抵抗値によって前記第1基準電圧が昇圧され、
前記選択制御信号を基に前記第1基準電圧と第2基準電圧のいずれか一つの基準電圧を選択するモード選択部であり、前記選択された基準電圧は第1階調ガンマ電圧として出力され、前記第1階調ガンマ電圧は255階調ガンマ電圧であり、
前記第1階調ガンマ電圧を除いた多数の階調ガンマ電圧を生成する多数のガンマ電圧調節部と、を含み、
前記多数のガンマ電圧調節部は、第1ガンマ電圧調節部および残りのガンマ電圧調節部を含み、
前記第1ガンマ電圧調節部は、前記選択された基準電圧を調節して、前記多数の階調ガンマ電圧のうちの第2階調ガンマ電圧を生成し、前記第2階調ガンマ電圧は前記第1階調ガンマ電圧より小さく、
前記残りのガンマ電圧調節部は、カスケード連結され、前記第1および第2階調ガンマ電圧を除いた残りの階調ガンマ電圧を生成する表示装置。 - 前記昇圧制御信号によって前記第1基準電圧から前記第2基準電圧への昇圧幅が決定される請求項10に記載の表示装置。
- 前記第2階調ガンマ電圧は、191階調ガンマ電圧である請求項10に記載の表示装置。
- 前記第2基準電圧は、異なる昇圧幅に応じて前記第1基準電圧から昇圧される請求項10に記載の表示装置。
- 前記昇圧モードで駆動される時、0階調〜255階調のうちの127階調〜255階調のガンマ電圧に変更される請求項10に記載の表示装置。
- 前記127階調〜255階調に対するガンマ曲線は、異なる昇圧幅に応じて生成される請求項14に記載の表示装置。
- ユーザの命令に相応する制御モードを設定するモード設定部と、前記選択制御信号と前記昇圧制御信号のいずれか一つに関する情報が格納されるレジスタとをさらに含む請求項10に記載の表示装置。
