Description
実施例1〜5のコーティング組成物は、表1に列挙した成分および量(グラム)を含む基剤配合物を使用した。基剤配合物を、プロペラ型撹拌ブレードを用いて撹拌しつつ、表1の材料を順に加えることによって調製した。
2Baramite 10(Cinbar Performance Minerals製)のポリエステル樹脂中分散物
3Cytec Industriesから入手可能なCymel 1156
4無水コポリマー溶液(73重量%樹脂)
5Cytec Industriesから入手可能なCymel U−80
6King Industriesから入手可能なNacure 155
7DuPontから入手可能なRK−5345ポリ(アクリル酸ブチル)。
2ジプロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテル
3Eckart製のSTAPA(登録商標)METALLIC R 507アルミニウム顔料ペースト(固形分65%)。
白黒のブラッシュアウトドローダウンカード(brushout drawdown card)(Leneta Opacity Chart (Form 2a))の上にドローダウンとして実施例1〜5のコーティング組成物を塗布した。このコーティングを強制換気オーブンによって302°Fで30分間硬化させた。それぞれのコーティングの乾燥した膜厚を表3に報告している。コーティングについて、総日射反射率および色を分析した。結果を表3に報告している。
2日射反射率の値をASTM E903にしたがって計算した。
3Gretag MacBeth ColorEye 7000Aを用い、色の測定を行った(光沢が含まれていた)。
実施例8〜21のコーティングシステムは、2種類の塗料配合物実施例6および7を使用し、表4に列挙した成分および量(グラム)が含まれていた。実施例8〜21のコーティングシステムは、実施例1〜5、他の市販コーティング、実施例6および7のコーティング組成物の種々の層の組み合わせを使用した。プロペラ型の撹拌ブレードを用いて撹拌しつつ、表4の材料を順に加えることによって、実施例6および7の組成物を調製した。

以下の実施例8〜21は、ED6060(PPGから市販されるカチオン電気めっき可能なプライマー)でエレクトロコーティングされた、試験基材である4インチ×12インチのACT CRSパネルの上に塗布されたコーティングシステムを示す。これらのパネルは、ヒルズデール、ミシガンのACT Laboratoriesから入手可能である。プライマーを塗布した試験基材を302°Fで30分間硬化させ、次いで、ベースコートでコーティングした。ベースコートを200°Fで10分間硬化させた。次いで、全ての試験パネルを、PPG Industries,Inc.から市販されている透明のDCT5002ダイヤモンドコートでコーティングした。このコーティングを強制換気オーブンによって硬化させた。それぞれのコーティングの乾燥した膜厚を表5に報告している。コーティングシステムについて、総日射反射率を分析し、ベースコートの色を測定した。結果を表5に報告している。

(項1)
コーティングシステムであって、
(a)CIELAB L * 値が40以下であり、
(i)膜形成樹脂;および
(ii)可視光を吸収し赤外線透過性の顔料を含む第1のコーティング層と、
(b)該第1のコーティング層の少なくとも一部の下に堆積され、
(i)膜形成樹脂;
(ii)薄いフレーク状金属または金属アロイの赤外線反射顔料;および
(iii)可視光を吸収し赤外線透過性の顔料を含む第2のコーティング層とを含み、
該第1のコーティング層および該第2のコーティング層は、コントラスト比(L * 第2 /L * 第1 )が0.8:1〜1.6:1であり、
該コーティングシステムは、総日射反射率%が少なくとも25%であり、
該第2のコーティング層は、TSR%が少なくとも25%である、
コーティングシステム。
(項2)
前記コントラスト比が1.0〜1.5:1である、上記項1に記載のコーティングシステム。
(項3)
前記コントラスト比が0.8〜1未満:1である、上記項1に記載のコーティングシステム。
(項4)
前記第2のコーティング層は、L * 値が30以下である、上記項1に記載のコーティングシステム。
(項5)
前記第2のコーティング層は、L * 値が25から30未満である、上記項4に記載のコーティングシステム。
(項6)
前記可視光を吸収し赤外線透過性の顔料が、前記組成物であって、第2のコーティング層がそこから堆積される組成物の固形物総重量を基準として少なくとも20重量%の量で存在する、上記項1に記載のコーティングシステム。
(項7)
前記組成物であって、第2のコーティング層がそこから堆積される組成物中の(b)(ii)と(b)(iii)の重量比が少なくとも1.5:1である、上記項1に記載のコーティングシステム。
(項8)
前記重量比が少なくとも5:1である、上記項7に記載のコーティングシステム。
(項9)
前記重量比が少なくとも10:1である、上記項8に記載のコーティングシステム。
(項10)
前記重量比が少なくとも20:1である、上記項9に記載のコーティングシステム。
(項11)
前記IR反射顔料が、金属および/または金属アロイのフレーク顔料を含む、上記項1に記載のコーティングシステム。
(項12)
前記フレーク顔料が、アルミニウムを含む、上記項11に記載のコーティングシステム。
(項13)
前記第1のコーティング層中の暗いIR透過性の顔料がペリレン系顔料を含む、上記項1に記載のコーティングシステム。
(項14)
前記第1のコーティング層中の暗いIR透過性の顔料がペリレン系顔料を含む、上記項1に記載のコーティングシステム。
(項15)
物品表面に配置された上記項1に記載のコーティングシステムを含む、物品。
(項16)
前記物品が航空機用部品である、上記項15に記載の物品。
Claims (16)
- コーティングシステムであって、
(a)CIELAB L*値が40以下であり、
(i)膜形成樹脂;および
(ii)可視光を吸収し赤外線透過性の顔料を含む第1のコーティング層と、
(b)該第1のコーティング層の少なくとも一部の下に堆積され、
(i)膜形成樹脂;
(ii)10〜2,000の範囲のその幅のその厚みに対する比率を有する薄いフレーク状金属または金属アロイの赤外線反射顔料;および
(iii)可視光を吸収し赤外線透過性の顔料を含む第2のコーティング層とを含み、
該第1のコーティング層および該第2のコーティング層は、コントラスト比(L* 第2:L* 第1)が0.8:1〜1.6:1であり、
該第1のコーティング層(a)および該第2のコーティング層(b)は、2.54〜50.8ミクロンの合計乾燥膜厚を有しており、そして該第2のコーティング層(b)は、単独で30.5ミクロンを超えない乾燥膜厚を有しており、
該コーティングシステムは、総日射反射率%が少なくとも25%であり、
該第2のコーティング層は、TSR%が少なくとも25%である、
コーティングシステム。 - 前記コントラスト比が1.0〜1.5:1である、請求項1に記載のコーティングシステム。
- 前記コントラスト比が0.8〜1未満:1である、請求項1に記載のコーティングシステム。
- 前記第2のコーティング層は、L*値が30以下である、請求項1に記載のコーティングシステム。
- 前記第2のコーティング層は、L*値が25から30未満である、請求項4に記載のコーティングシステム。
- 前記可視光を吸収し赤外線透過性の顔料が、前記第2のコーティング層をなす組成物の固形物総重量を基準として少なくとも20重量%の量で存在する、請求項1に記載のコーティングシステム。
- 前記第2のコーティング層をなす組成物中の(b)(ii)と(b)(iii)の重量比が1.5以上:1である、請求項1に記載のコーティングシステム。
- 前記重量比が5以上:1である、請求項7に記載のコーティングシステム。
- 前記重量比が10以上:1である、請求項8に記載のコーティングシステム。
- 前記重量比が20以上:1である、請求項9に記載のコーティングシステム。
- 前記薄いフレーク状金属または金属アロイの赤外線反射顔料が、0.05ミクロン〜10ミクロンの厚みを有する、請求項1に記載のコーティングシステム。
- 前記金属アロイの赤外線反射顔料が、アルミニウムを含む、請求項11に記載のコーティングシステム。
- 前記第1のコーティング層(a)中の前記可視光を吸収し赤外線透過性の顔料(ii)がペリレン系顔料を含む、請求項1に記載のコーティングシステム。
- 前記第2のコーティング層(b)中の前記可視光を吸収し赤外線透過性の顔料(ii)がペリレン系顔料を含む、請求項1に記載のコーティングシステム。
- 物品表面に配置された請求項1に記載のコーティングシステムを含む、物品。
- 前記物品が航空機用部品である、請求項15に記載の物品。
