Description
本非仮出願は、2006年1月9日付申請の米国仮特許出願番号第60/757,750号に対し、35U.S.C.§119(e)の下の優先権を主張し、その全ての内容はここに参照することで援用される。
本特許文書は概して燃料電池に関連し、より詳細には、限定するものではないが、携帯用またはマイクロ燃料電池システム、およびそのための方法に関連する。
燃料電池は、燃料および酸素を利用して電気を精製する電気化学エネルギー変換装置である。燃料電池は、燃料が存在する限り持続的に作動する。水素を燃料として使用する際、唯一の副産物は水蒸気である。燃料電池の変換反応は電気化学的に発生し、エネルギーは電気エネルギーおよび熱の組合せとして放出される。電気エネルギーは直接的に有用な仕事をすることができ、その一方で熱を分散させることもできる。
本主題の実施形態は燃料電池システムに関する。一例には、燃料電池システムは、陽極、陰極、およびそれらの間に配置される電解質を含む、少なくとも1つの燃料電池または燃料電池層と、燃料または燃料貯蔵材と、燃料貯蔵部が燃料または燃料貯蔵材を貯蔵するように構成される少なくとも1つの燃料電池、あるいは燃料電池層の第1の部分に隣接して位置する少なくとも1つの面を含む燃料貯蔵部と、集電回路が燃料電池または燃料電池層によって発生する電流を受け取り、分配するように構成される少なくとも1つの燃料電池、あるいは燃料電池層の第2の部分と接触する集電回路と、少なくとも1つの燃料貯蔵面、および少なくとも1つの燃料電池または燃料電池層の第1の部分の間に配置される燃料プレナムとを含む。

Claims (16)
- 燃料電池システムであって、
その中に燃料を貯蔵するように構成される燃料貯蔵部と、
前記燃料貯蔵部のうちの1つ以上の部分で取り付け可能なシステムカバーと、
前記システムカバーで前記燃料貯蔵部を取り付けることによって形成される閉鎖領域と、
前記閉鎖領域に配置される、複数の同一平面の単位燃料電池を含む燃料電池層であって、前記燃料電池層は燃料プレナムを形成するように、前記閉鎖領域内に広がるように構造的に配設されている1つ以上の柔軟壁を含む、前記燃料電池層と、を備え、
前記1つ以上の柔軟壁は、前記燃料貯蔵部または前記システムカバーのうちの1つ、あるいは両方の一部によって支持される、燃料電池システム。 - 前記システムカバーは、前記燃料電池層及び前記燃料電池システムの他の部品を取り囲むように構成され、及び前記燃料貯蔵部に取り付けられる、請求項1に記載の燃料電池システム。
- 前記燃料貯蔵部が、燃料貯蔵材と、前記燃料貯蔵材に一致して連結される囲い外壁とを含む、請求項1又は2に記載の燃料電池システム。
- 前記燃料電池層と接触する集電回路であって、前記燃料電池層によって発生する電流を受け取り、分配するように構成される、前記集電回路を更に含み、
前記集電回路が、前記燃料電池層と一体となっている、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の燃料電池システム。 - 前記燃料貯蔵部は、圧力調整器を含む請求項1から4のいずれかに記載の燃料電池システム。
- 前記燃料電池層に隣接して配置される保護多孔部材をさらに備える、請求項1から5のいずれかに記載の燃料電池システム。
- 前記燃料貯蔵部は燃料補給ポートを含む、請求項1から6のいずれかに記載の燃料電池システム。
- 前記燃料貯蔵部は、第1および第2の携帯電話部品を相互接続し、利用可能な電気装置空間を満たすよう配設される携帯電話用燃料タンクを備え、
1つ以上の内部ポートは前記第1および第2の携帯電話部品を流動的に結合する、
請求項1から7のいずれか1項に記載の燃料電池システム。 - 更に、追加エネルギー電池、及び、調整回路を含む、
請求項1から8のいずれか1項に記載の燃料電池システム。 - 燃料電池システムを製作する方法であって、
その中に燃料を貯蔵するように構成される燃料貯蔵部を形成するステップと、
1つ以上の空気出入ポートを有するシステムカバーを形成するステップと、
閉鎖領域を形成するステップを含む、前記システムカバーを前記燃料貯蔵部のうちの1つ以上の部分と連結するステップと、
少なくとも1つの燃料プレナムを形成するように、前記閉鎖領域内に広がる1つ以上の柔軟な燃料電池壁を配設するステップを含む、複数の同一平面の単位燃料電池を含む燃料電池層を前記閉鎖領域に配置するステップと、
を備え、
前記燃料貯蔵部および前記システムカバーを形成するステップは、前記1つ以上の柔軟な燃料電池壁に対する支持部を形成するステップを含む、方法。 - 集電回路を前記燃料電池層に接触させるステップをさらに備える、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 保護多孔部材を前記燃料電池層に隣接して配置するステップをさらに備える、請求項10又は11に記載の方法。
- 前記燃料貯蔵部の面に隣接して配置された第2の燃料電池層をさらに含む、請求項1から9のいずれか1項に記載の燃料電池システム。
- 携帯用電力を提供する燃料電池システムであって、
複数の同一平面の単位燃料電池を含む燃料電池層を含む燃料電池組立部であって、各単位燃料電池が第1の面に陽極、第2の面に陰極、およびそれらの間に電解質を含む、燃料電池組立部と、
前記燃料電池の第2の面の近接に位置する保護多孔部材と、
前記少なくとも1つの燃料電池によって発生する電力を受け取り、分配するように構成される集電回路と、
前記燃料電池の第1の面に隣接して位置する面を含む水素貯蔵部であって、水素燃料を貯蔵するように構成される、水素貯蔵部と、
前記水素貯蔵部および前記燃料電池の第1の面の間に配置され、燃料が内部に導入されることにより、燃料が前記燃料電池の第1の面に圧力を印加するような燃料プレナムと、
少なくとも1つの空気出入ポートを含むシステムカバーであって、前記保護多孔部材、前記集電回路、前記少なくとも1つの燃料電池、前記燃料プレナム、または前記水素貯蔵部の一部のうちの1つ以上を収納するように採寸および成型される、システムカバーと、
を備える、燃料電池システム。 - 前記燃料プレナム内の燃料の圧力は、前記燃料電池層と、前記集電回路とを接触させる、請求項14に記載の燃料電池システム。
- 前記システムカバーは、前記燃料電池層及び前記燃料電池システムのその他の部品を囲み、前記水素貯蔵部に取り付けられる、請求項14又は15に記載の燃料電池システム。
