Description
これらの方法のうち、(i)の方法は、ゴムを架橋させる段階で発泡剤を分解ガス化させ、気泡を発生させてスポンジ化する方法であるが、発泡剤の分解ガスの臭いや安全性に問題がある。また、ゴム材として白金系触媒を硬化触媒とする付加反応型シリコーンゴムを使用した場合に、発泡剤による硬化阻害が生じるという問題がある。
[1]金属芯軸外周に、水溶性の糖粉末およびトリエチレングリコールを含有するシリコーンゴム組成物からなるゴム層を形成する工程と、前記ゴム層を加硫した後、前記糖粉末およびトリエチレングリコールを溶出し除去して発泡ゴム層を形成する工程とを含むことを特徴とする熱定着用ゴムローラの製造方法。
前記シリコーンゴム組成物は、シリコーンゴム100質量部に対し、前記糖粉末を50〜200質量部、前記トリエチレングリコールを1〜50質量部含有することを特徴とする熱定着用ゴムローラの製造方法。
前記糖粉末が、グルコース、ラクトース、スクロース、トレハロース、フルクトース、砂糖、グラニュー糖および粉糖からなる群より選択される少なくとも1種であることを特徴とする熱定着用ゴムローラの製造方法。
前記シリコーンゴムが、液状付加反応型シリコーンゴムであることを特徴とする熱定着用ゴムローラの製造方法。
図1は、本発明の一実施形態に係る熱定着用ゴムローラの製造過程を示す断面図である。
図3に図示したような、金属芯軸121上に、発泡シリコーンゴム層123および離型性樹脂チューブからなる離型性樹脂層125が順に被覆された3層構造のローラは、前述した図1に示した円筒状金型110を用いて製造することができる。以下、第2の実施形態として、図4を参照しながら、既に説明した第1の実施形態からの変更点を中心に説明する。
例えば、上記実施形態でいずれも、シリコーンゴム層の形成にあたって、金型に液状のシリコーンゴム組成物を注入し加硫させる方法を適用しているが、このような方法に代えて、固体状のシリコーンゴムに糖粉末およびトリエチレングリコールを混合して得たゴム混和物からシートを作製し、このシートを金属芯軸に巻き付けた後、加熱加硫する方法、同様に調製したゴム混和物を押出機を用いて中空円筒状に押出し、金属芯軸上に嵌挿させた後、加熱加硫する方法など、従来よりローラの成形方法として一般に知られる方法を用いることもできる。
図1に示すように、円筒型111内に、外周面にプライマー#101(信越化学工業社製 商品名)を塗布した外径18mmのアルミからなる金属芯軸121を挿入し、円筒型111の上部および下部にそれぞれ上部栓体112および下部栓体113を嵌合させて同心的に保持した。
連泡率の測定:
発泡シリコーンゴム層の原料のシリコーンゴム組成物の比重(OG)、および発泡後のシリコーンゴム層の比重(FG)および重量(DW)を測定する。また、発泡シリコーンゴム層を真空容器内に置いた容器中の水に沈め、真空容器内を10mmHg以下に減圧した後、常圧に戻し、5分間放置してシリコーンゴム層に水を吸収させ、吸水後のシリコーンゴム層の重量(WW)を測定する。これらの測定値から、次式により連泡率を算出する。
連泡率(%)
=[(WW−DW)/水の比重(1.00)]/[(1−(FG/OG))×(DW/FG)]×100]
得られたローラを密閉容器に入れ、真空状態にしてローラ外径の変化を調べたところ、ローラ外径に変化はなく、十分に連泡化された発泡シリコーンゴム層を備えたローラであることが確認された。
トリエチレングリコールをシリコーンゴム組成物中に未配合とした以外は実施例と同様にして、シリコーンゴムを成型し、水中にて糖分を溶出させようとしたが、糖分が溶出せず、スポンジ状のゴムローラを得ることができなかった。
Claims (7)
- 金属芯軸外周に、水溶性の糖粉末およびトリエチレングリコールを含有するシリコーンゴム組成物からなるゴム層を形成する工程と、
前記ゴム層を加硫した後、前記糖粉末およびトリエチレングリコールを溶出し除去して発泡ゴム層を形成する工程と
を含むことを特徴とする熱定着用ゴムローラの製造方法。 - 前記発泡ゴム層の連泡率が90%以上であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の熱定着用ゴムローラの製造方法。
- 前記糖粉末の粒径が1〜1000μmであることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の熱定着用ゴムローラの製造方法。
- 前記糖粉末の粒径が10〜400μmであることを特徴とする請求項3記載の熱定着用ゴムローラの製造方法。
- 前記シリコーンゴム組成物は、シリコーンゴム100質量部に対し、前記糖粉末を50〜200質量部、前記トリエチレングリコールを1〜50質量部含有することを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項記載の熱定着用ゴムローラの製造方法。
- 前記糖粉末が、グルコース、ラクトース、スクロース、トレハロース、フルクトース、砂糖、グラニュー糖および粉糖からなる群より選択される少なくとも1種であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項記載の熱定着用ゴムローラの製造方法。
- 前記シリコーンゴムが、液状付加反応型シリコーンゴムであることを特徴とする請求項1乃至6のいずれか1項記載の熱定着用ゴムローラの製造方法。
