Claims (2)
- 可変バルブタイミング機構のロータとハウジングとの間に設けられた複数の油圧室を液密的に区画し、焼結金属で細長形状に形成されたオイルシール部材を製造するための方法であって、
金属粉末を圧縮成形することにより、長辺方向両端部に凸部を有する天面、該天面の反対側に設けられた平坦な底面、及び、前記底面の短辺方向両側に設けられた一対の平坦な側面を備えた圧粉体を成形する圧縮成形工程と、前記圧粉体を焼結して焼結体を得る焼結工程と、前記焼結体の平坦な底面を、短辺方向で湾曲した曲面状に成形するサイジング工程とを経て行なわれ、
前記圧縮成形工程において、前記圧粉体の一対の平坦な側面を上下パンチで圧縮し、前記サイジング工程において、前記焼結体の天面及び底面を上下パンチで圧縮するオイルシール部材の製造方法。 - 前記焼結体の底面を、短辺方向で湾曲し、且つ、長辺方向で直線状である曲面状に成形するサイジング金型の成形面を、長辺方向で湾曲させた請求項1に記載のオイルシール部材の製造方法。
