Claims (4)
- 表示パネルと、
前記表示パネルの面光源として使用されるバックライトと、
を有し、
前記バックライトは、前記面光源よりも狭い発光領域を有する光源と、前記光源の光を端面から入射して表面から出射する導光板と、を含み、
前記導光板の前記端面は、平坦面と前記平坦面から突出する凸面又は窪んだ凹面とを有し、前記平坦面に垂直な方向に前記光源から進行する光は、前記凸面又は前記凹面での屈折により拡がって前記導光板に入射し、
前記凸面又は前記凹面は、前記光が出射する前記表面に直交する複数の中心軸の周りにそれぞれ形成された複数の円筒面が一体化された形状をなし、
前記複数の円筒面の配列方向で前記凸面又は前記凹面の両端部に位置する一対の前記円筒面は、それぞれ、前記平坦面に隣接し、
隣同士の前記円筒面は、前記平坦面よりも前記凸面の突出方向又は前記凹面の窪んだ方向にずれた位置で相互に接続し、
前記光が出射する前記表面に平行な面で切った断面で、前記複数の円筒面によって複数の弧が表れ、前記平坦面によって直線が表れ、
前記複数の弧の最も突出した点または最も窪んだ点は、それぞれ、前記平坦面によって表れる前記直線に平行に一列に並ぶことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1に記載された表示装置において、
前記複数の弧のそれぞれは、前記複数の中心軸を中心とする複数の円のうち対応する1つの円の一部であり、前記複数の弧をそれぞれ一部とする前記複数の円は、互いに相似形状を有するように設計されていることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1に記載された表示装置において、
前記複数の弧のそれぞれは、前記複数の中心軸を中心とする複数の円のうち対応する1つの円の一部であり、前記複数の弧をそれぞれ一部とする前記複数の円の相似比は、それぞれ、基準値±15%以内であることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載された表示装置において、
配列方向の両端のそれぞれに位置する1つの前記弧は、前記平坦面によって表れる前記直線と接続し、
前記直線との接続点で前記1つの前記弧に接する第1接線と前記直線とのなす角度は、前記第1接線が接する前記1つの前記弧の側において70°であり、
隣同士の前記弧の接続点で前記隣同士の前記弧の一方に接する第2接線と前記直線とのなす角度は、前記第2接線が接する前記一方の前記弧の側において40°であることを特徴とする表示装置。
