Claims (14)
- 補強されたチューブ状の医療装置を連続工程で形成する方法であって、
線状に移動可能な細長いコアを準備するステップと、
前記コアの移動している部分の周りに細長いチューブ状部材を形成するステップであって、
前記コアの前記移動している部分の周りに、官能基を備える官能化ポリマーでコーティングを形成し、
前記移動している部分に沿って前記官能化ポリマーのコーティングの外側表面に補強材を加え、
前記移動している部分に沿って前記官能化ポリマー及び前記補強材を覆うようにポリマー製のアウタージャケットを形成して前記細長いチューブ状部材を形成するようになされ、前記官能基が前記コーティングと前記ポリマー製のアウタージャケットとの間の結合を促進する親和力を与えるためのものとされている、細長いチューブ状部材を形成するステップと、
前記チューブ状の医療装置を製作するために、前記細長いチューブ状部材を切断するステップと、
前記チューブ状の医療装置から前記コアを取り除くステップと、
を含む方法。 - 前記官能化ポリマーのコーティングが前記コアの移動した部分の周りに押出成形によって形成される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記官能化ポリマーが、前記官能基を備える熱可塑性ポリマーから成る、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記熱可塑性ポリマーがフッ素ポリマーから成る、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記官能化ポリマーが、前記官能基を備えるエチレンフッ素化エチレンプロピレンから成る、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記官能化ポリマーが、前記官能基を備える高密度ポリエチレンから成る、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリマー製のアウタージャケットが前記官能化ポリマーのコーティング及び前記補強材を覆うように押出成形によって形成される、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリマー製のアウタージャケットがポリエーテルブロックアミド、ポリアミド、ポリウレタン、又はポリオレフィンから成る、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記補強材を形成するステップが、コイル又はブレード補強材を形成するために前記官能化ポリマーの周りにワイヤを巻き付けるステップを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記コアがアセタールから成り、前記官能化ポリマーが前記官能基を備えるフッ素化エチレンプロピレンから成り、前記補強材が平坦なワイヤコイルから成る、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記官能化ポリマーのコーティング及び前記コアがスプールに回収され、前記補強材は、前記官能化ポリマーのコーティング及び前記コアが前記スプールから巻きを解かれている最中に形成される、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記補強材を形成する前に、前記官能化ポリマーのコーティングを軟化させるステップを含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記官能化ポリマーのコーティング及び前記補強材が第2のスプールに回収される、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリマー製のアウタージャケットが、前記官能化ポリマーのコーティング及び前記補強材が前記第2のスプールから巻きを解かれている最中に押出成形により形成される、請求項13に記載の方法。
