本出願の目的のための、用語の定義は以下のとおりである:
「分散」とは、連続相の液体の全体に分散された、典型的には、コロイド状のサイズの極端に細かい個体粒子の熱力学的に不安定な混合物であって、それ以外の方法によっては互いに混和しないものを意味する。分散は、少なくとも一時的には、分散剤により安定化され得る。
ポリグリセロール製造の一般的操作手順:グリセロール(500.0部)及びNaOH又はKOH溶液(反応固体の全重量に対する活性物質の重量により3〜10%)の混合物を、特定の流速の不活性気体下に、撹拌しながら、徐々に230〜260度Cに加熱した。この温度でこの反応混合物を、所望の反応時間(時間単位で)撹拌し、及び2時間後に、処理中のサンプルを抜き出し、更にその後は1時間又は2時間ごとに生成物の測定のためにサンプルを抜き出した。反応開始後0〜4時間の間は、1時間毎に、グリセロール1モルに対して、0.2〜8molでの窒素流速を加えるか、又は反応終了まで、760mmHg未満の真空圧を加えた。このポリグリセロール生成物は、水で希薄後に、pH調整をして、又はせずに、直接塗布に用いられた。
ポリグリセロール・サンプルの揮発性が、熱重量分析(TGA)により測定された。図3は、グリセロール及びさまざまなポリグリセロール・サンプルのTGA重量損失曲線の重ねあわせである。表2は、各サンプルで5%の重量損失が起きる時点の温度を一覧している。グリセロールの5%重量損失は162度Cで生じるが、ポリグリセロール・サンプルの5%重量損失は有意により高い温度で生じている。このことは、ポリグリセロール・サンプルの全てが、グリセロールよりも揮発性が低いことを示唆している。約20〜40mgのサンプルをTGA(TA Instruments,デラウエア州ニューキャッスル(New Castle))を用いて、10度C/minの加熱速度で空気中(流速:90mL/min)で分析した。
希薄溶液中で、グリセロールに比較して低揮発性であるポリグリセロールが図4に図示されている。変性剤濃度がより希薄になるにつれて、グリセロールに対するポリグリセロールの有用性がより明白になる。1%変性剤濃度では、105度Cで16.5時間の乾燥後に実質的に100%のグリセロール変性剤が失われる。それに対して高々10%のポリグリセロール変性剤が失われるだけである。
ヤンキー・ドライヤー組成物の一部として製剤されたときのポリグリセロールの可塑化性、が、ガラス転移点(Tg)及び貯蔵剪断弾性率(G´)の測定から実証された。ポリマーのTgは、示差走査熱量測定法により測定され、及びポリマー薄膜のG´はレオメータにより測定された。表3は、PAEを主成分とする薄膜のTg及びG´に対する変性剤の効果を示している。この結果は、ポリグリセロールが、グリセロールと同様に効果的な可塑剤であることを実証している。ポリグリセロールはグリセロールと同様の様式でTgを低下させ、及びポリグリセロールにより変性されたPAE薄膜は、変性されないものと比べて、より柔らかい薄膜であった。TAQ200示差走査熱量計(TA Instruments,デラウエア州ニューキャッスル(New Castle))がTg測定に用いられた。ポリマー・サンプルは、薄膜をポリプロピレンの皿の中で成型して調製した。サンプルは一晩105度Cのオーブンの中で乾燥された。約10〜15mgのサンプルをDSCパンに蓋をして密封した。このサンプルを10度C/minの昇温速度で加熱した。Tgは半値幅法を用いて二回目の走査から測定した。貯蔵剪断弾性率G´は、Rheometer AR2000(TA Instruments,デラウエア州ニューキャッスル(New Castle))により測定された。ポリマー薄膜は、5%(w/w)溶液からの成型により調製した。この薄膜は一晩95度Cのオーブンで乾燥された。乾燥した薄膜は、ダイによって型抜きされた(直径8mm)。この8mmのディスクを8mmの平行板を用いて、110度C及び1Hzで測定された。
ポリグリセロール及びグリセロールの接着に与える効果を比較するために、乾燥接着剥離試験(dry tack peel test)を行った。この試験では、加熱された金属板に接着された木綿片を、引き剥がすのに必要な力が測定された。第一に、PAE粘着性組成物を#40の塗装用ロッドにより、金属板に塗布した。板に塗布した接着剤の固体分は15%未満であった。この板を100度Cに加熱し、乾燥した木綿片を1.9kgの円筒ローラーにより圧迫した。この金属板を、次いで105度Cに加熱し、及び木綿片を15分間、乾燥のために放置した。次いで金属板を試験装置に挟んで、180度の角度で一定速度により木綿片を板から引き剥がした。図5に示される試験結果は、本発明の有効性を実証している。変性剤を用いていないサンプルは、PAE接着剤薄膜が乾燥されたために、乾燥接着を示さず、薄膜は脆弱になり、及び木綿片が接着するには、硬くなりすぎる。グリセロール変性剤が、薄膜をより柔軟にして、乾燥接着を増強する一方で、図5は、グリセロール含有薄膜を修飾剤として用いる場合と比較して、ポリグリセロール含有薄膜が、より優れた乾燥接着を持つことを明白にしている。
Claims (1)
- ペーパー・ウエブをクレーピングする方法であって:
a)回転するクレーピング・シリンダーに、少なくとも1つの接着剤、少なくとも1つの離型剤、及び少なくとも1つのポリグリセロールを含むコーティング組成物を塗布すること;
b)ペーパー・ウエブのクレーピング・シリンダーに対する接着を達成するために、ペーパー・ウエブをクレーピング・シリンダーに対して圧迫すること;及び
c)ドクターブレードによりペーパー・ウエブをクレーピング・シリンダーから取り除くこと、
を含む方法。
