B)実施形態1から12のいずれかの処理液で非露光領域を除去して、フレキソグラフ印刷版にレリーフ像を提供するステップ、及び
C)場合により、処理されたフレキソグラフ印刷版を乾燥するステップ
を含む、フレキソグラフ印刷版の製造方法。
20重量%の、EUの規約1999/13/ECに従えば、非VOC溶媒であると考えられる、Cranbury、NJのRhodia-Novecareから入手したRhodiasolv(登録商標)Iris(2-メチルグルタル酸ジメチルを含む)及び80重量%のジイソプロピルベンゼンを含むフレキソグラフ版用現像液組成物を調製した。この現像液組成物を、処理用ドラムを有する、市販のKelleigh 310型処理機に入れた。市販の厚さ0.067インチ(0.17cm)のフォトポリマーフレキソグラフ印刷版(Kodak Flexcel(登録商標)NXH)を、2インチx12インチ(5.1cmx30.5cm)のサイズの試料片に切った。次いで、試料片からカバーシートを取り除き、試料片を処理ドラムの幅に沿って8個を並列にならべ、固定した。処理機のブラシ圧力は、3.5の設定に調整し、現像液組成物を使用して処理を開始した。8分間の処理を行った後から始めて、2分間隔で試料を1個ずつ取り除いた。それぞれの試料をくずの出ない版用拭き布で吸い取って乾燥し、60℃に設定されているKelleighの乾燥部においた。
Dupont Optisol Rotaryと呼ばれる、市販のフレキソグラフ印刷版用現像液組成物を処理に使用した以外は、本発明実施例1の手順にならった。この現像液組成物に対する洗い流し時間は、本発明実施例1におけるのと同じレリーフ深さ(0.04インチ、0.1cm)を達成するのに20分であると測定され、それは、本発明の現像液組成物についてのものの2倍の長さであった。比較実施例の現像液組成物での乾燥時間(90分)は、本発明の現像液組成物のそれ(105分)と同程度であった。画像品質も本発明実施例で得られたものと同程度であることが見出された。しかし、比較実施例の現像液組成物では、中くらいの臭気があり、公知の非VOC溶媒は含んでいなかった。
MacDermid Solvitと呼ばれる市販のフレキソグラフ版用現像液組成物を処理に使用した以外は、本発明実施例1の手順にならった。この現像液組成物に対する洗い流し時間及び乾燥時間は、本発明実施例1と同程度の画像品質を達成するのに、それぞれ11分と105分であった。しかし、この現像液組成物は、中程度の臭気があり、また、処理済みで乾燥後の版に中程度の臭気を残した。この印刷版現像液組成物は、公知の非VOC溶媒は含んでいなかった。
本発明に従うジイソプロピルベンゼンとRhodiasolv(登録商標)Irisの種々の現像液組成物組合せを評価するため及びこれらの組成物を市販の現像液組成物と比較するために、プロトタイプの研究開発処理機を用いた。使用したフレキソグラフ印刷版原版は、本発明実施例1で記載したものと同じであった。
Claims (14)
2)1種以上の有機共溶媒であって、その少なくとも1種が脂肪族二塩基酸エステルである有機共溶媒
を含む、フレキソグラフレリーフ印刷版製造用現像液。
10から60重量%の2-メチルグルタル酸ジメチル、及び
5から35重量%の、ベンジルアルコール、2-エチルヘキシルアルコール、2-フェニルエチルアルコール、及びイソプロピルベンジルアルコールからなる群から選択される、1種又は複数のアルコールを含み、
ジイソプロピルベンゼンと2-メチルグルタル酸ジメチルの重量比が、1:9から3:2である、請求項1に記載のフレキソグラフレリーフ印刷版製造用現像液。
B)請求項1から11のいずれか一項に記載のフレキソグラフレリーフ印刷版製造用現像液で非露光領域を除去して、フレキソグラフ印刷版にレリーフ像を提供するステップ、及び
C)場合により、処理されたフレキソグラフ印刷版を乾燥するステップ
を含む、フレキソグラフ印刷版の製造方法。
