[式中、kv100は潤滑油基油の100℃における動粘度(mm2/s)を示す。]
D 2425−93に記載の方法、ASTM D 2549−91に記載の方法、高速液体クロマトグラフィ(HPLC)による方法、あるいはこれらの方法を改良した方法等を挙げることができる。
[式(1)中、R1は水素またはメチル基を示し、R2は炭素数16以上の直鎖状または分枝状の炭化水素基を示す。]
[上記一般式(4)中、R5は水素原子またはメチル基を示し、R6は炭素数1〜18のアルキレン基を示し、E1は窒素原子を1〜2個、酸素原子を0〜2個含有するアミン残基または複素環残基を示し、aは0または1を示す。]
定される100℃での高温高せん断粘度を示す。100℃における動粘度が3.0mPa・s未満の場合には、潤滑性不足を来たすおそれがあり、8.0mPa・sを超える場合には必要な低温粘度および十分な省燃費性能が得られないおそれがある。
実施例1〜2および比較例1〜4においては、それぞれ以下に示す基油および添加剤を用いて表2に示す組成を有する潤滑油組成物を調製した。基油O−1、O−2、O−3の性状を表1に示す。
(基油)
O−1(基油1):n−パラフィン含有油を水素化分解/水素化異性化した鉱油
O−2(基油2):水素化分解基油
O−3(基油3):溶剤精製基油
(添加剤)
A−1(粘度指数向上剤1):PSSI=20、MW=40万、Mw/Mn=2.2、Mw/PSSI=20000のポリメタクリレート(メチルメタクリレート、ジメチルアミノエチルメタクリレートを合計して70モル%、一般式(2)中のR2が炭素数16のアルキル基であるメタクリレート、一般式(2)中のR2が炭素数18のアルキル基であるメタクリレート、一般式(2)中のR2が炭素数20のアルキル基であるメタクリレートを合計して20モル%、一般式(2)中のR2が炭素数22の分岐鎖状アルキル基であるメタクリレートを10モル%とを重合させて得られる分散型ポリメタアクリレート系添加剤)
A−2(粘度指数向上剤2):PSSI=40、MW=30万、Mw/PSSI=7500のポリメタクリレート(メチルメタクリレート、一般式(3)中のR4が炭素数12の直鎖状アルキル基であるメタクリレート、一般式(3)中のR4が炭素数13の直鎖状アルキル基であるメタクリレート、一般式(3)中のR4が炭素数14の直鎖状アルキル基であるメタクリレート、一般式(3)中のR4が炭素数15の直鎖状アルキル基であるメタクリレート、および、ジメチルアミノエチルメタクリレートを主構成単位とする分散型ポリメタクリレート系添加剤)
A−3(粘度指数向上剤3):PSSI=5、Mw=8万、Mw/PSSI=16000のポリメタクリレート(メチルメタクリレート、一般式(3)中のR4が炭素数12の直鎖状アルキル基であるメタクリレート、一般式(3)中のR4が炭素数13の直鎖状アルキル基であるメタクリレート、一般式(3)中のR4が炭素数14の直鎖状アルキル基であるメタクリレート、一般式(3)中のR4が炭素数15の直鎖状アルキル基であるメタクリレートを主構成単位とする非分散型ポリメタクリレート系添加剤)
A−4(粘度指数向上剤4):PSSI=20、Mw=10万のオレフィン共重合体
B−1(その他の添加剤):添加剤パッケージ(金属清浄剤、無灰分散剤、酸化防止剤、リン系摩耗防止剤、摩擦調整剤、流動点降下剤、消泡剤等を含む)。
実施例1〜2および比較例1〜4の各潤滑油組成物について、40℃または100℃における動粘度、粘度指数、100℃または150℃におけるHTHS粘度、−30℃におけるCCS粘度、ならびに、摩擦トルクを測定した。各物性値の測定は以下の評価方法により行った。得られた結果を表2に示す。
(1)動粘度:ASTM D−445
(2)粘度指数:JIS K 2283−1993
(3)HTHS粘度:ASTM D4683
(4)CCS粘度:ASTM D5293
(5)摩擦トルクの測定:2000cc DOHCエンジンを用いて、1500rpm、80℃の条件における摩擦トルクを測定した。摩擦トルク低減率は、比較例2の組成物を基準油として算出した。
率が大きかった。この結果から、本発明の潤滑油組成物が、省燃費性と潤滑性に優れ、ポリ−α−オレフィン系基油やエステル系基油等の合成油や低粘度鉱油系基油を用いずとも、HTHS粘度を一定レベルに維持しながら、燃費向上にとって効果的である、潤滑油の40℃および100℃における動粘度ならびに100℃におけるHTHS粘度を著しく低減させた、潤滑油組成物であることがわかる。
