本実施の形態では、表示パネルの一例について説明する。
本実施の形態では、被検出物からの反射光を用いる場合に、フォトセンサの検出精度を高める方法を説明する。
図6に、表示パネルの断面図の一例を示す。図6に示す表示パネルでは、絶縁表面を有する基板(TFT基板)1001上に、フォトダイオード1002、トランジスタ1003、保持容量1004、液晶素子1005が設けられている。
図7に、実施の形態3とは異なる表示パネルの断面図の一例を示す。図7では、フォトダイオード1002に遮蔽膜2019が形成されている。そして、遮蔽膜2019は、トランジスタ1003のゲート電極を構成する導電膜1019と同じ材料を用いて、導電膜1019と共に構成される。フォトダイオード1002に遮蔽膜を形成することで、バックライトの光が受光部に直接入射することを回避できる。そのため、被検出物からの反射光のみを効率良く検出することができる。
図12に、実施の形態3及び実施の形態4とは異なる表示パネルの断面図の別の一例を示す。図12では、バックライトからの光が、TFT基板1001側から照射する点において、図6及び図7と異なる。すなわち、矢印2020で示すように液晶素子1005を通って、対向基板1013側にある被検出物1021に照射される。そして、被検出物1021において反射された矢印2022で示す光が、フォトダイオード1002に入射する。この場合、フォトダイオード1002の上部の遮蔽膜1015に開口を設ける等、被検出物1021で反射された光がフォトダイオード1002に入射するようにすればよい。

Claims (4)
- 第1のフォトセンサが配置された光検出部と、第2のフォトセンサが配置されたエリアセンサとを有する表示パネルと、
画像処理部と、を有し、
前記光検出部は、前記表示パネルに投影される前記被検出物の影を検出する機能を有し、
前記被検出物の影は、前記被検出物が表示パネルに接近したときに、前記表示装置周囲の光が前記被検出物で遮られることで形成されたものであり、
前記画像処理部は、前記被検出物の影の位置を検出する第1の機能と、前記影の動きを検出する第2の機能と、を有し、
前記第1の機能は、前記表示パネルを複数の領域に分割し、前記複数の領域のうち、前記第1のフォトセンサで取得した光の量が、所定の値より小さい画素を最も多く含む領域の位置データを、前記被検出物の影の位置データとして取得する機能であることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 第1のフォトセンサが配置された光検出部と、第2のフォトセンサが配置されたエリアセンサとを有する表示パネルと、
画像処理部と、を有し、
前記光検出部は、前記表示パネルに投影される前記被検出物の影を検出する機能を有し、
前記被検出物の影は、前記被検出物が表示パネルに接近したときに、前記表示装置周囲の光が前記被検出物で遮られることで形成されたものであり、
前記画像処理部は、前記被検出物の影の位置を検出する第1の機能と、前記影の動きを検出する第2の機能と、を有し、
前記第1の機能は、前記表示パネルを複数の領域に分割し、前記複数の領域のうち前記第1のフォトセンサで取得した光の量が、所定の値より小さい画素を最も多く含む領域の位置データを、前記被検出物の影の位置データとして取得する機能であり、
前記第2の機能は、前記被検出物の影の位置データを連続的に取得し、連続的に取得された前記位置データを比較することで、前記被検出物の影の動きを検出する機能であることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1又は2において、
前記第2のフォトセンサの数は、前記第1のフォトセンサの数より多いことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1乃至3のいずれか一において、
前記第1のフォトセンサの周囲には、前記第2のフォトセンサが配置されていることを特徴とする表示装置。
