Claims (6)
- ニッケル水素電池の充放電を制御する電池システムであって、
前記ニッケル水素電池の温度を検出する温度センサと、
前記ニッケル水素電池の負極リザーブ量が目標値よりも小さいとき、前記ニッケル水素電池の充放電を制限するコントローラと、を有し、
前記コントローラは、
前記負極リザーブ量を算出する周期の間、前記温度センサを用いて、充放電を行っているときの前記ニッケル水素電池の温度と、充放電を行っていないときの前記ニッケル水素電池の温度とを取得し、
前記ニッケル水素電池の温度および前記負極リザーブ量の変化量の対応関係を用いて、取得した温度に対応した前記変化量を算出し、この変化量を用いて前記負極リザーブ量を算出することを特徴とする電池システム。 - 前記コントローラは、
前記変化量として、前記ニッケル水素電池の温度に応じて変化し、負極の腐食に伴う前記負極リザーブ量の増加量と、前記ニッケル水素電池の温度に応じて変化し、前記ニッケル水素電池の外部への水素の放出に伴う前記負極リザーブ量の減少量とを算出し、
前記増加量および前記減少量を加算した量を用いて、前記負極リザーブ量を算出することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電池システム。 - 前記コントローラは、前記ニッケル水素電池の充放電を制限したときに前記負極リザーブ量を算出する周期を、前記ニッケル水素電池の充放電を制限しないときに前記負極リザーブ量を算出する周期よりも短くすることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の電池システム。
- 前記コントローラは、前記ニッケル水素電池の充放電を制限した後に、前記負極リザーブ量が前記目標値よりも大きくなったとき、前記充放電の制限を解除することを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか1つに記載の電池システム。
- 前記ニッケル水素電池は、車両に搭載され、前記車両を走行させる運動エネルギに変換される電気エネルギを出力し、
前記コントローラは、
前記車両の使用状態に応じて、前記ニッケル水素電池の寿命を規定する走行距離又は経過時間を選択し、
走行距離を選択したときには、走行距離が目標とする走行距離に到達するまで、前記負極リザーブ量が前記ニッケル水素電池の寿命に相当する前記負極リザーブ量に到達しないように、前記目標値を設定し、
経過時間を選択したときには、経過時間が目標とする経過時間に到達するまで、前記負極リザーブ量が前記ニッケル水素電池の寿命に相当する前記負極リザーブ量に到達しないように、前記目標値を設定する、
ことを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれか1つに記載の電池システム。 - 前記コントローラは、前記車両の走行距離および経過時間の一方が、閾値に到達するたびに、前記負極リザーブ量および前記目標値の比較を行うことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の電池システム。
