Description
触媒用途の大部分において、Cは、好ましくは、2〜25mmの範囲であり、Dは、好ましくは、4〜40mmの範囲にある。
触媒活性金属を含有する粉末組成物は、それぞれの金属酸化物、炭酸塩、水酸化物、又は水酸化炭酸塩を混合することで、または、公知の沈殿技術で、調製することができる。沈殿技術では、可溶性塩の混合物を、例えば、アルカリ性沈殿剤を用いて沈殿させ、乾燥し、必要に応じて焼成する。
一態様において、触媒ユニットは、金属、酸化物、水酸化物、炭酸塩、あるいは水酸化炭酸塩の形で存在する、ニッケル、コバルト、鉄または銅等の1種以上の遷移金属、及び/又は、白金、パラジウム、ロジウム、イリジウムまたはルテニウム等の1種以上の貴金属を含む。
ペレット化は、本発明の好ましい製作方法である。従って、触媒ユニットを製作する方法は、(i)粉末材料を、必要に応じてグラファイトもしくはステアリン酸マグネシウム等のペレット化助剤または潤滑剤と共に、ペレット金型に供給し、(ii)前記粉末を圧縮し、成型ユニットを形成し、次いで、(iii)必要に応じて、前記成型ユニットを加熱し、触媒ユニットを形成する工程を含んでもよい。加熱工程は、焼成を含んでもよく、触媒ユニットの強度を増加させる働きをする。
触媒金属化合物を含有する触媒ユニットは、使用上活性にするための水素及び/又は一酸化炭素を含有する気体流による還元、あるいは、例えば、硫化水素等による硫化等の種々の処理を受けてもよい。後処理は、別の場所(ex-situ)、又は現場(in-suite)、即ち、用いられる反応器に取り付ける前でも後でもどちらで行ってもよい。
実施例1
図3に示したペレットに関する計算機による研究に基づいて、同じ材料から製作した5H−Pの計算特性(本発明による)及び5H−Q(本発明によらない)を下に示す。
Claims (14)
- 長さC及び直径Dの円筒を含む触媒ユニットであって、該ユニットが、縦に貫通する5角形のパターンに配置された0.1D〜0.3Dの範囲の直径d’を有する円形の断面の5個の孔を有し、該ユニットの長さ方向に延びている5本の溝を有し、該溝は該5角形パターンの隣接する孔に等間隔に位置する、触媒ユニット。
- 長さCの円筒が、長さがAとBのドーム状端部を有し、(A+B)/Cが、0.10〜5.00の範囲にある、請求項1に記載の触媒ユニット。
- ユニットのアスペクト比が0.5〜2.00の範囲にある、請求項1または請求項2に記載の触媒ユニット。
- 各溝が、半円又は楕円であり、独立して、0.05D〜0.5Dの範囲の直径d”の幅または深さを有する、請求項1〜請求項3のいずれか1項に記載の触媒ユニット。
- 総溝幅が、ユニットの周囲の35%以下である、請求項1〜請求項4のいずれか1項に記載の触媒ユニット。
- 一方又は両方のドーム状の端部が、円筒部分の一方又は両方の端部にへりを提供するように配置されて、請求項1〜請求項5のいずれか1項に記載の触媒ユニット。
- 金属酸化物、金属水酸化物、金属炭酸塩、金属水酸化炭酸塩、または、それらの混合物から選ばれる金属又は金属化合物を含む、請求項1〜請求項6のいずれか1項に記載の触媒ユニット。
- 金属又は金属化合物がNa、K、Mg、Ca、Ba、Al、Si、Ti、V、Cr、Mn、Fe、Co、Ni、Cu、Zn、Y、Zr、Nb、Mo、Ru、Rh、Pd、Ag、Sn、Sb、La、Hf、W、Re、Ir、Pt、Au、Pb又はCeから選ばれる1種以上の金属を含む、請求項7に記載の触媒ユニット。
- ユニットに含浸させた、及び/又は、表面に堆積させた1種以上の金属化合物を含む、請求項1〜請求項8のいずれか1項に記載の触媒ユニット。
- 該金属化合物が、Na、K、Mg、Ca、Ba、Al、Si、Ti、V、Cr、Mn、Fe、Co、Ni、Cu、Zn、Y、Zr、Nb、Mo、Ru、Rh、Pd、Ag、Sn、Sb、La、Hf、W、Re、Ir、Pt、Au、Pb又はCeから選ばれる1種以上の金属を含む、請求項9に記載の触媒ユニット。
- (i)粉末材料を、ペレット金型に供給し、(ii)該粉末を圧縮し、成型ユニットを形成する工程を含み、ここで、該金型は、該触媒ユニットが、長さC及び直径Dの円筒形であり、該ユニットが、5角形のパターンに配置された縦に貫通する5角形のパターンに配置された0.1D〜0.3Dの範囲の直径d’を有する円形の断面の5個の孔を有し、該5角形パターンの隣接する孔に等間隔に位置する該ユニットの長さ方向に延びている5本の溝が設けられているように形作られている、請求項1〜請求項10のいずれか1項に記載の触媒ユニットを製作する方法。
- 粉末材料が、乾燥された1種以上の触媒金属を含む沈殿組成物である、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 粉末材料が触媒担体材料である、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 得られたユニットに、1種以上の金属化合物を含浸又は堆積させる処理をする工程を更に含む、請求項13に記載の方法。
