Description
本出願は、2008年5月23日に出願された米国特許仮出願第61/055,858号、2008年5月30日に出願された米国特許仮出願第61/057,289号、および2008年11月26日に出願された米国特許仮出願第61/118,202号の35米国特許法第119条(e)の下で優先権を主張するPCT出願であり、それらの全体は、参照することによって本明細書に組み込まれる。
図4および図11に示すように、熱伝導体2、51は、クラッド9、59によってクラッドされているヒートパイプ8、56と、反射体4、53に対向している熱伝導体2、51の1つの側面に配置された取付け用プラットフォーム5、54とを含む。クラッド9、59は、アルミニウム、銅、グラファイトまたは亜鉛などの熱伝導性材料から作製可能であり、取付け用プラットフォーム5、54を含むことが可能である。クラッド9、59は、ヒートパイプ8、56の構造的強度を高め、LED6、55からヒートパイプへの熱の伝達および伝播に役立ち、ヒートパイプ8、56から、上面リム3、52、反射体4、53、および主筐体57など、ヒートシンクへの熱の伝達および伝播に役立つために使用可能である。
反射体4、53、502は、アルミニウムなどの熱伝導性材料から作製され、ヒートシンクとして働く。あるいは、反射体4、53、502は、プラスチックなどの熱的に伝導性でない材料から作製されてもよい。
LEDは、1つまたは複数のチップを有するLEDモジュールであってよい。LEDは、高パワーのLEDであってよい。1つまたは複数のLEDが、本発明に使用可能である。
本発明は、金属コアPCBを含む(図3に示す金属コアPCB7、図12に示す金属コアPCB60を参照のこと)。金属コアPCBは、LED回路を含み、熱輸送用媒体として働く。例えば、金属コアPCBは、ベース金属プレート(銅またはアルミニウム、約0.8mmから3mm厚)、誘電層(ベース金属プレートの上面にラミネート加工済み、約0.1mm厚)、および銅回路トラック(誘電層の上面にプリント加工済み、約0.05mmから0.2mm厚)を備える。
上面リム3、52、503は、アルミニウム、銅もしくは亜鉛、または任意の他の高熱伝導性材料など、熱伝導性材料から作製される。上面リム3は、一次ヒートシンクとして働き(例えば、図1を参照のこと)、または同様に、上面リム52、503は、二次ヒートシンクとして働く(例えば、図8および図18を参照のこと)。
主筐体57、501は、アルミニウム、銅、亜鉛、または任意の他の高熱伝導性材料など、熱伝導性材料から作製される。主筐体57、501は、一次ヒートシンクとして働く(例えば、図8および図17を参照のこと)。図8および図17に示すように、主筐体57、501は、1つまたは複数のフィン58もしくは570を有することが可能であり、かつ/またはその熱放散容量を高めるために、その表面積を増大させる円錐形のような形状をとることが可能である。主筐体57、501は実質的に、形状が円錐台形であってよい。主筐体はまた、形状が円筒形であっても、または立方体形であってもよい。

Claims (17)
- 主筐体と、
前記主筐体内に配設され、前面側および背面側を有する反射体と、
前記主筐体の1つの端部に熱的に結合された上面リムと、
前記反射体の前記前面側に面するように位置決めされた熱伝導体であって、前記上面リムに熱的に結合されたヒートパイプを備える、熱伝導体と、
前記熱伝導体に熱的に結合された少なくとも1つの発光ダイオードであって、前記少なくとも1つの発光ダイオードから放出される光が前記反射体の前記前面側に方向付けられるように、前記反射体の前記前面側に直接的に面するように位置決めされている少なくとも1つの発光ダイオードと
を備え、
前記熱伝導体は、実質的にS字形状であり、棒形状の中間部分と、前記中間部分から延び、それぞれが前記上面リムに結合されている湾曲した翼状部分とを備える、照明器具。 - 前記熱伝導体は、前記少なくとも1つの発光ダイオードから前記上面リムに向かって流れる熱に経路をもたらす、請求項1に記載の照明器具。
- 前記反射体は、中心光学軸を有し、前記照明器具は、
前記熱伝導体に結合され、且つ前記反射体の前記中心光学軸に隣接して、または前記中心光学軸に位置決めされ、前記少なくとも1つの発光ダイオードに熱的に結合された取付け用プラットフォームをさらに備える、請求項1に記載の照明器具。 - 前記取付け用プラットフォームは、銅またはアルミニウムから作製される、請求項3に記載の照明器具。
- 前記熱伝導体の少なくとも実質的な部分に結合された金属クラッドをさらに備える、請求項1に記載の照明器具。
- 前記金属クラッドは、ステンレス鋼、アルミニウム、または銅から作製される、請求項5に記載の照明器具。
- 前記反射体は、双曲線、楕円、または放物線の形状にある、請求項1に記載の照明器具。
- 前記上面リムは、円形であり、熱伝導性材料から作製される、請求項1に記載の照明器具。
- 前記主筐体は実質的に、形状が円錐台形、円筒形、または立方体形であり、熱伝導性材料から作製される、請求項1に記載の照明器具。
- 前記主筐体は、1つまたは複数の熱放散フィンを備える、請求項1に記載の照明器具。
- 前記主筐体に結合されたプラスチック筐体と、
前記プラスチック筐体に結合されたランプベースと
をさらに備える、請求項9に記載の照明器具。 - 前記ランプベースは、E26ランプベース、GU10ランプベース、E27ランプベース、またはGU24ランプベースである、請求項11に記載の照明器具。
- 前記少なくとも1つの発光ダイオードに熱的に結合された取付け用プレートと、
前記取付け用プレートおよび前記熱伝導体に熱的に結合された取付け用プラットフォームと
をさらに備える、請求項1に記載の照明器具。 - 前記取付け用プレートは、銅から作製される、請求項13に記載の照明器具。
- 前記上面リムに結合されたガラスカバーをさらに備え、前記ガラスカバーは、外部環境から、前記反射体と、前記熱伝導体と、前記少なくとも1つの発光ダイオードとを少なくともカバーする、請求項1に記載の照明器具。
- 全体的に円錐台形状の主筐体と、
前記主筐体内に配設され、前面側、背面側、および中心光学軸を有する円錐形状の反射体と、
前記主筐体に結合された円形上面リムと、
前記円錐形状の反射体の前記前面側に面するように位置決めされた実質的にS字形状のヒートパイプであって、前記円錐形状の反射体の前記中心光学軸に、または前記中心光学軸に隣接して配置された取付け用プラットフォームを備える中間部分、および前記中間部分のそれぞれの端部にそれぞれ結合され、前記上面リム内に結合された2つの湾曲した翼状部分を含む、実質的にS字形状のヒートパイプと、
前記取付け用プラットフォームに熱的に結合された少なくとも1つの発光ダイオードであって、前記少なくとも1つの発光ダイオードから放出される光が前記円錐形状の反射体の前記前面側に方向付けられるように、前記円錐形状の反射体の前記前面側に直接的に面するように位置決めされた少なくとも1つの発光ダイオードと
を備える、照明器具。 - 前記少なくとも1つの発光ダイオードと、前記取付け用プラットフォームとに結合された金属コアPCBをさらに備える、請求項16に記載の照明器具。
