Claims (4)
- シングルモード伝送する第一の導光体と、シングルモード伝送する第二の導光体と、シングルモード伝送する第三の導光体と、からなる3本の導光体を、ファイバ軸方向に直交する断面方向から見てこの順に互いに並行に配列し、前記第一の導光体に入射される光の波長をλ1、前記第二の導光体に入射される光の波長をλ2、前記第三の導光体に入射される光の波長をλ3として、前記λ1、λ2、λ3の波長を有する光の合波光が、前記第一の導光体から出射される光合波器であって、
前記第一の導光体、前記第二の導光体、および前記第三の導光体は、シングルモード光ファイバであり、
前記第一の導光体と前記第三の導光体は、お互い接触することなく、夫々前記第二の導光体のみと接触して配列され、且つ、前記第一の導光体、前記第二の導光体、および前記第三の導光体は、一括で融着延伸されており、
前記3本の前記導光体は、少なくともクラッド径、コアの屈折率、コアとクラッドとの比屈折率、開口数(NA)、モールドフィールド径、及び、2次モードカットオフ波長をパラメータとし、
夫々の3本の前記導光体に入射される光の前記波長の関係をλ1<λ2<λ3としたとき、前記第一の導光体における前記パラメータは、動作波長が前記λ1及び前記λ2を含む範囲になるように設定されており、前記第二の導光体における前記パラメータは、前記第一の導光体における前記パラメータと同じに設定されており、前記第三の導光体における前記パラメータは、動作波長が前記λ3を含み、且つ、前記λ1及び前記λ2を含まない範囲になるように設定されており、
前記第三の導光体におけるモールドフィールド径は、前記第一の導光体および前記第二の導光体におけるモールドフィールド径よりも大きく設定されており、
更に、前記第一の導光体および前記第二の導光体の2次モードカットオフ波長C1と、前記第三の導光体の2次モードカットオフ波長C2と、前記第三の導光体に入射される光の前記波長λ3と、の関係が、C1<C2<λ3となることを特徴とする3波長光合波器。 - 前記第一の導光体、前記第二の導光体、および前記第三の導光体を、この順に同一平面上に互いに並行に配列した、請求項1に記載の3波長光合波器。
- 前記第二の導光体と、前記第三の導光体と、が有する前記出射ポートが、無反射処理されていることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の3波長光合波器。
- 前記λ1の波長を有する光が青色、前記λ2の波長を有する光が緑色、前記λ3の波長を有する光が赤色、の可視光であることを特徴とする請求項1ないし3の何れか1項に記載の3波長光合波器。
