Description
図1はこの発明の一実施の形態によるデジタル表示装置の駆動装置の構成を示す図である。例えば液晶表示画面を使用した表示部1にはブラックマトリックスにより画素Pがマトリックス状に配列されて表示画面が構成され、各画素Pには表示用トランジスタ(図示省略)が設けられ、ゲート駆動部2とソース駆動部3により駆動される。
Claims (5)
- 同期信号を含むデジタル表示制御信号で同期をとりながらデジタル映像信号に従って表示部を駆動する駆動部を備えたデジタル表示装置の駆動装置であって、
表示部での個々の表示部固有の輝度変化領域において、輝度の変化方向に変化の割合に応じて輝度の増加又は減少の方向と反対方向に階調数で決まる最小輝度調整単位でステップ状に輝度を減少又は増加させ、かつステップ状に変化する輝度の各境界線が、前記輝度変化領域の輝度の変化方向と直交する線を中心線として前記中心線に沿って輝度の高い側と低い側に交互に凹凸を繰り返す形状となるように前記デジタル映像信号の階調を補正する輝度補正手段を備え、
前記輝度補正手段が、
前記ステップ状に輝度を減少又は増加させ、かつステップ状に変化する輝度の各境界線が前記中心線に沿って輝度の高い側と低い側に交互に凹凸を繰り返す形状となるように輝度補正を行うための前記表示部の各画素に対応したデジタル映像信号の階調の補正増減数を予め設定したルックアップテーブルと、
デジタル表示制御信号に同期させて前記ルックアップテーブルの階調の補正増減数に従ってデジタル映像信号の階調を順次補正する階調補正部と、
を含み、
前記階調補正部が、デジタル表示制御信号の各信号と同期をとるためのカウンタと、前記カウンタのカウント値に従ってデジタル表示制御信号の各信号と同期をとりながら前記ルックアップテーブルの階調の補正増減数に従ってデジタル映像信号の階調の階調加算又は階調減算を行う加算器又は減算器と、を含み、
前記各境界線が前記中心線に沿って輝度の高い側と低い側に交互に凹凸を繰り返す形状で、前記中心線を基準とする、凸部の複数の画素数と凹部の複数の画素数が同一である、
ことを特徴とするデジタル表示装置の駆動装置。 - 前記各境界線が、円弧形状に類似した形状の凹凸を繰り返す形状を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のデジタル表示装置の駆動装置。
- 前記各境界線が、楕円の円弧形状に類似した形状の凹凸を繰り返す形状を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のデジタル表示装置の駆動装置。
- 前記各境界線が、正弦波形状に類似した形状の凹凸を繰り返す形状を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のデジタル表示装置の駆動装置。
- 前記各境界線が、前記中心線と45度で交差する凹凸を繰り返す形状を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のデジタル表示装置の駆動装置。
