Claims (9)
- ガラス溶融物にガスを加える方法であって、
第1槽(14)内で供給材料(16)を加熱して溶融ガラス(18)を形成するステップ、
前記溶融ガラスを、第1耐火金属接続管(23)を通して第2槽(20)に流すステップ、
前記溶融ガラスを、第2耐火金属接続管(24)を通して前記第2槽(20)から第3槽(22)に流すステップ、および、
ガスを、前記溶融ガラスに、該ガスを前記第1および第2耐火金属接続管の一方または両方の中にバブリングすることにより導入するステップ、
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記ガスが酸素を含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記第2槽(20)内の前記溶融ガラス(18)の温度が、前記第1槽(14)内の前記溶融ガラスの温度よりも低いことを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の方法。
- 前記第3槽(22)内の前記溶融ガラス(18)の温度が、前記第1槽(14)内の前記溶融ガラスの温度よりも高いことを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記第1および第2耐火金属接続管(23、24)が白金を含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記バブリングされたガスがガス注入管(44)を通って前記溶融ガラスに導入され、該ガス注入管が、該注入管の出口で、該注入管に隣接している前記溶融ガラス(18)の流れ(52)の方向に実質的に平行な縦軸(60)を有していることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記バブリングされたガスがガス注入管(44)を通って前記溶融ガラスに導入され、該ガス注入管が、該注入管の出口で、該注入管に隣接している前記溶融ガラス(18)の流れ(52)の方向に非平行な縦軸(50)を有していることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記ガスが導入される位置で、前記溶融ガラス(18)の粘度を制御するステップをさらに備えたことを特徴とする請求項6記載の方法。
- 前記ガスがガス注入管(44)を通って導入され、かつ前記ガラス粘度が、前記注入管を電流で加熱することにより制御されることを特徴とする請求項8記載の方法。
