Description
図3に示すように、切削挿入体10は、互いに向かい合って平行に延長する上面12および下面14と、上面12と下面14を連結する4つの側面16、18とから構成される。上面12と下面14は平行四辺形の形状である。上面12および下面14と2つの対向する側面16との間の境界部には、第1および第2の主切削エッジ22、24が形成され、上面12および下面14と他の2つの対向する側面18との間の境界部には、第1および第2の副切削エッジ26、28が形成される。第1の主切削エッジ22は、第1の副切削エッジ26と連結されて第1の切削エッジを形成し、第2の主切削エッジ24は、第2の副切削エッジ28と連結されて第2の切削エッジを形成する。第1の切削エッジと第2の切削エッジは、上面12と下面14において対角方向に対向して形成され、切削挿入体10は、上面12および下面14の中心を貫通する軸を中心に180度回転対称の形状を有する。切削挿入体10は、上面12および下面14と平行し、上面12と下面14との間の中間に位置した中間面30を中心に鏡対称の形状を有する。切削挿入体10の上面12の第1および第2の切削エッジと、下面14の第1および第2の切削エッジは、中間面30に対して鏡対称となっている。よって、上面の切削エッジが左勝手切削エッジまたは右勝手切削エッジであれば、下面の切削エッジは、右勝手切削エッジまたは左勝手切削エッジとして使用可能である。図示の実施形態において、上面12の第1および第2の切削エッジは右勝手切削エッジであり、下面14の第1および第2の切削エッジは左勝手切削エッジである。しかし、上面と下面を反対に定義すると、上面の切削エッジは左勝手切削エッジになり、下面の切削エッジは右勝手切削エッジになる。
図7は本発明における切削挿入体が装着されているスロットカッターの斜視図、図8は図7に示すスロットカッターの側面図である。図3〜図6に示す本発明の一実施形態に係る切削挿入体10は、上面12に右勝手切削エッジを備え、下面14に左勝手切削エッジを備える。図8に示すように、切削挿入体10を用いて溝加工を行う場合、上面12の右勝手切削エッジと下面14の左勝手切削エッジとが交互に位置するように、切削挿入体10がスロットカッター50に装着される。この状態でスロットカッター50が回転すると、右勝手切削エッジが溝の底面と一側面を加工し、左勝手切削エッジが溝の底面と他の一側面を加工することによって、被削材に溝が形成される。
Claims (6)
- それぞれ平行四辺形の上面および下面と、
前記上面と下面を連結する4つの側面と、
前記上面および下面と2つの対向する側面との間の境界部に形成される1つ以上の主切削エッジと、
前記上面および下面と他の2つの対向する側面との間の境界部に形成される1つ以上の副切削エッジと
を備える切削挿入体であって、
前記主切削エッジは、前記上面および下面と平行し、その中間に位置する中間面に対して第1の角度を形成し、前記副切削エッジは、前記中間面に対して第2の角度を形成し、前記主切削エッジと前記副切削エッジは連結されて切削エッジを形成し、
前記上面および下面は装着面と傾斜面とを備え、
前記傾斜面は前記切削エッジから前記中間面に向かって内側に延長し、
前記上面と前記下面は前記中間面に対して鏡対称であり、
前記切削挿入体は、前記上面および下面の中心を貫通する軸を中心に180度回転対称であり、
前記主切削エッジを形成する互いに対向する2つの側面は、前記中間面が通る位置を頂点として外側に突出し、前記中間面を境に上面側と下面側の2つの傾斜面にそれぞれ区分けされ、
当該各傾斜面は、前記軸と平行な位置から前記軸に向かって鋭角(γ)の角度傾斜した
切削挿入体。 - 前記鋭角は5度〜15度である、請求項1に記載の切削挿入体。
- 前記第1の角度と第2の角度はそれぞれ3度〜13度である、請求項1または2のいずれか1項に記載の切削挿入体。
- 請求項1または2のいずれか1項に記載の切削挿入体を収容するポケットを備える切削工具用カートリッジであって、
前記ポケットは半径方向支持面と底支持面とを備え、
前記半径方向支持面は、前記切削挿入体の上面及び下面の主切削エッジと副切削エッジとの間の内角と同じ大きさの傾斜を有し、
前記底支持面は、前記切削挿入体の主切削エッジの第1の角度および副切削エッジの第2の角度と同じ大きさの傾斜をそれぞれ有する第1の傾斜面と第2の傾斜面とを備える、
切削工具用カートリッジ。 - 請求項1または2のいずれか1項に記載の切削挿入体を収容するポケットを備える切削工具であって、
前記ポケットは半径方向支持面と底支持面とを備え、
前記半径方向支持面は、前記切削挿入体の上面及び下面の主切削エッジと副切削エッジとの間の内角と同じ大きさの傾斜を有し、
前記底支持面は、前記切削挿入体の主切削エッジの第1の角度および副切削エッジの第2の角度と同じ大きさの傾斜をそれぞれ有する第1の傾斜面と第2の傾斜面とを備える、
切削工具。 - 前記切削工具は、溝加工を行うためのスロットカッターである、請求項5に記載の切削工具。
