Description
(a) アイソパイプのトラフ及び上部において溶融ガラス内に入るジルコンを少なくする、及び/または
(b) アイソパイプの底部において溶融ガラスから出現し、二次ジルコン結晶を形成するジルコンを少なくする(この溶融ガラスからの出現は失透及び/またはジルコン結晶の析出をもたらすと考えることができる)、
条件の下で融着プロセスの作業を行うことにより解決される。
Claims (3)
- 上部にトラフ及び堰を有し且つ底部にルートを有するジルコンアイソパイプに溶融ガラスを供給する融着プロセスにより板ガラスを作成する方法において、
前記ルートにおいてジルコンが前記溶融ガラスから出てきて結晶を形成する結果生じる板ガラス内のジルコン含有欠陥レベルが、1ポンド(453.6g)当りの欠陥数が0.1個を超えないように、前記アイソパイプの前記ルートの先端における前記溶融ガラスの温度を1120℃より高くするとともに、前記ルートの中央における前記溶融ガラスの温度を1150℃より高くすることにより、前記板ガラス内のジルコン含有欠陥の形成を抑制することを特徴とする方法。 - 前記ルートにおいて形成されるジルコン結晶の長さが100μmより短く保たれることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記板ガラスが液晶ディスプレイ製造用基板として用いられるものであることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の方法。
