Description
図16が、バタフライバルブにおいて使用可能な別の代案のシールまたはシールリング用カートリッジならびに可撓キャリアの構成500の断面図である。図5に示されているように、典型的なシール500が、バタフライバルブ(例えば、図5の典型的なバルブ100)の内部に取り付けられて流量制御穴を囲むように構成された実質的に可撓なリング状のキャリア502を備えている。さらに、この典型的なシール500は、リング状のカートリッジ504を、リング状のキャリア502の内径面506へと接続して備えている。典型的なカートリッジ504は、第1の部位508と、シールリング514を把持または保持するための周状の開口512を定めるために第1の部位508へと接続される第2の部位510とを備えている。リング状の可撓キャリア502及びシールリング514を、図5〜図15に関して上述した可撓キャリア及びシールリングと同様または同一の様式で、実現することが可能である。しかしながら、さらに詳しく後述されるとおり、典型的なカートリッジ504は、いくつかの点で図9、図10、及び図15に関して上述したカートリッジから相違している。
本出願は、2005年12月21日付の「Flexible Seals for Process Control Valves」という名称の米国特許出願第11/313,364号の一部継続出願である。
Claims (8)
- バタフライバルブにおいて使用するためのシールであって、
前記バタフライバルブの内部に取り付けられ、前記バタフライバルブの流量制御穴を囲むように構成されている実質的に可撓なリング状のキャリアと、
第1の部位およびシールリングを保持するための周状の開口を定めるように第1の溶接により前記第1の部位と接続される第2の部位を有しており、前記リング状のキャリアの内径と接続されるリング状のカートリッジと、
前記周状の開口に保持されるシールリングとを備えており、
前記リング状のキャリアが第1の材料で作られており、前記リング状のカートリッジが前記第1の材料と異なる金属材料である第2の材料で作られており、前記シールリングが前記第1の材料および前記第2の材料と異なる第3の材料で作られており、
前記第1の部位が、第1の内向き表面を有しており、前記第2の部位が、前記第1の内向き表面と係合する第2の内向き表面を有しており、
前記第1の内向き表面および前記第2の内向き表面の少なくとも一部分が前記第1の溶接によって融合させられ、この融合された部分が前記開口を定めているアキシャル壁に実質的に隣接しているシール。 - 前記シールリングと前記リング状のカートリッジの前記第1の部位との間に配設される第4の材料からなる層をさらに備えており、前記第4の材料が前記シールリングを前記リング状のカートリッジへ固定する請求項1に記載のシール。
- 前記第1の材料が金属材料であり、
前記リング状のカートリッジが第2の溶接により前記リング状のキャリアと接続されている請求項1または2に記載のシール。 - 前記第1の部位が、少なくとも第1のラジアル表面を有しており、前記第2の部位が、前記第1のラジアル表面と係合するための少なくとも第2のラジアル表面を有している請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載のシール。
- 前記第1および第2のラジアル表面が、溶接部によって接合される請求項4に記載のシール。
- 前記溶接部が、ラジアル溶接部である請求項5に記載のシール。
- 前記第1の部位が、第1のアキシャル表面を有しており、前記第2の部位が、前記第1のアキシャル表面と係合するための第2のアキシャル表面を有している請求項4に記載のシール。
- 前記アキシャル表面が、前記ラジアル表面よりも小さい係合表面積を有している請求項7に記載のシール。
