Claims (14)
- 携帯型電子装置に電力を提供する方法であって、
a)主電池(1010)が前記携帯型電子装置に挿入されたかどうかを検出し、前記主電池(1010)が検出されると、検出信号をコントローラ(1075)に送信するステップと、
b)前記主電池(1010)が検出されると、前記主電池(1010)からの電圧を電力変換器(1060)に結合するステップと、
c)前記電力変換器(1060)が前記電圧を受け取った後に前記電力変換器(1060)から提供される動作電圧を、コントローラ(1075)に提供するステップと、
d)前記コントローラ(1075)から送信される信号を利用してバックアップ電池(1070)を充電するステップと、
e)前記バックアップ電池(1070)が充電レベルに到達したかどうかを判定するために前記バックアップ電池(1070)の電池レベルをモニタするステップと、
f)前記バックアップ電池の前記充電レベルに到達したならば、前記バックアップ電池(1070)の充電を停止するステップと、
g)前記主電池が、前記携帯型電子装置を動作させるのに十分な電圧を有しているが、しかし前記主電池が、前記携帯型電子装置を動作させるのに十分な前記電圧より大きくバックアップ電池(1070)を充電するのに十分な電圧を有していないかどうかを判定し、もしそうならば、ステップd〜fを省略し、そして、前記主電池(1010)には十分な電力がなく、従って前記バックアップ電池(1070)が充電されないことを示すためのエラーメッセージを出力するステップと
によって特徴付けられる、方法。 - 前記主電池が主電池低閾値電圧未満まで使い果たされたかどうかを判定するために前記主電池(1010)の電池レベルをモニタするステップと、
前記主電池(1010)が前記主電池低閾値電圧未満まで使い果たされると、前記主電池(1010)を前記電力変換器(1060)への前記電圧の結合から開放する開放信号を送信するステップと、
前記主電池が閾値主電池レベル未満まで使い果たされると、前記電力変換器(1060)に電力を提供するために前記バックアップ電池(1070)を接続する接続信号を送信するステップと
をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記主電池(1010)と前記電力変換器(1060)との間にコンデンサ(1050)が結合され、前記コンデンサ(1050)が前記主電池(1010)から前記電圧を受け取り、前記電圧を前記電力変換器(1060)に提供する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 十分に充電された主電池(1010)が前記携帯型電子装置に挿入されているかどうかを判定するために前記携帯型電子装置をモニタし、前記十分に充電された主電池(1010)が取り付けられると、前記コントローラ(1075)に検出信号を送信するステップと、
前記十分に充電された主電池(1010)が前記携帯型電子装置に挿入されると、前記主電池を接続する主電池接続信号を送信し、前記電力変換器(1060)への電力の提供から前記バックアップ電池を開放するバックアップ電池(1070)接続信号を送信するステップと
をさらに含む、請求項2に記載の方法。 - 前記携帯型電子装置がインスリンポンプである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 携帯型電子装置であって、
取外し可能主電池(1010)と、バックアップ電池(1070)と、コントローラ(1075)と、電力変換器(1060)と、
前記主電池(1010)が前記携帯型電子装置に挿入されたかどうかを検出し、前記主電池(1010)が検出されると、検出信号を前記コントローラ(1075)に送信するためのデバイスと、
前記主電池(1010)が検出されると、前記主電池(1010)からの電圧を前記電力変換器(1060)に結合するためのデバイスと、
前記電力変換器(1060)が前記電圧を受け取った後に前記電力変換器(1060)から提供される動作電圧を、前記コントローラ(1075)に提供するためのデバイスと、
前記コントローラ(1075)から送信される信号を利用してバックアップ電池(1070)を充電するように構成されるデバイスと、
前記バックアップ電池(1070)が充電レベルに到達したかどうかを判定するために前記バックアップ電池(1070)の電池レベルをモニタすると共に、前記バックアップ電池(1070)の前記充電レベルに到達したならば、前記バックアップ電池(1070)の充電を停止し、前記主電池が、前記携帯型電子装置を動作させるのに十分な電圧を有しているが、しかし前記主電池が、前記携帯型電子装置を動作させるのに十分な前記電圧より大きくバックアップ電池(1070)を充電するのに十分な電圧を有していないかどうかを判定し、もしそうならば、前記バックアップ電池(1070)を充電せず、しかし、前記主電池(1010)には十分な電力がなく、従って前記バックアップ電池(1070)が充電されないことを示すためのエラーメッセージを出力するように構成されるデバイスと
によって特徴付けられる、装置。 - 前記主電池が主電池低閾値電圧未満まで使い果たされたかどうかを判定するために前記主電池(1010)の電池レベルをモニタし、
前記主電池(1010)が前記主電池低閾値電圧未満まで使い果たされると、前記主電池(1010)を前記電力変換器(1060)への前記電圧の結合から開放する開放信号を送信し、
前記主電池が閾値主電池レベル未満まで使い果たされると、前記電力変換器(1060)に電力を提供するために前記バックアップ電池(1070)を接続する接続信号を送信する
ように構成されるモニタデバイスを更に備えた、請求項6に記載の装置。 - 前記主電池(1010)と前記電力変換器(1060)との間にコンデンサ(1050)が結合され、前記コンデンサ(1050)が前記主電池(1010)から前記電圧を受け取り、前記電圧を前記電力変換器(1060)に提供する、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記モニタデバイスが、
十分に充電された主電池(1010)が前記携帯型電子装置に挿入されているかどうかを判定するために前記携帯型電子装置をモニタし、前記十分に充電された主電池(1010)が取り付けられると、前記コントローラ(1075)に検出信号を送信すると共に、
前記十分に充電された主電池(1010)が前記携帯型電子装置に挿入されると、前記主電池を接続する主電池接続信号を送信し、前記電力変換器(1060)への電力の提供から前記バックアップ電池を開放するバックアップ電池(1070)接続信号を送信する
ように更に構成される、請求項7に記載の装置。 - 請求項6〜9のいずれか一項に記載の携帯型電子装置を備えたインスリンポンプ。
- プログラムコード記憶媒体と、命令を含む機械可読プログラムコードとを備えたプログラムコード記憶装置であって、前記命令が実行されると、コントローラに、
a)主電池(1010)が前記携帯型電子装置に挿入されたかどうかを検出させ、前記主電池(1010)が検出されると、検出信号を検出させ、
b)前記主電池(1010)が検出されると、前記主電池(1010)からの電圧を電力変換器(1060)に結合させ、
c)前記電力変換器(1060)が前記電圧を受け取った後に、前記電力変換器(1060)から、前記電力変換器(1060)から作用する動作電圧を提供させ、
d)前記動作電圧を利用してバックアップ電池(1070)を充電させ、
e)前記バックアップ電池(1070)が充電レベルに到達したかどうかを判定するために前記バックアップ電池(1070)の電池レベルをモニタさせ、
f)前記バックアップ電池の前記充電レベルに到達したならば、前記バックアップ電池(1070)の充電を停止させ、
g)前記主電池が、前記携帯型電子装置を動作させるのに十分な電圧を有しているが、しかし前記主電池が、前記携帯型電子装置を動作させるのに十分な前記電圧より大きくバックアップ電池(1070)を充電するのに十分な電圧を有していないかどうかを判定させ、もしそうならば、ステップd〜fを省略させ、そして、前記主電池(1010)には十分な電力がなく、従って前記バックアップ電池(1070)が充電されないことを示すためのエラーメッセージを出力させる、記憶装置。 - 実行されると、前記コントローラに、
前記主電池が主電池低閾値電圧未満まで使い果たされたかどうかを判定するために前記主電池(1010)の電池レベルをモニタさせ、
前記主電池(1010)が前記主電池低閾値電圧未満まで使い果たされると、前記主電池(1010)を前記電力変換器(1060)への前記電圧の結合から開放する開放信号を送信させ、
前記主電池が閾値主電池レベル未満まで使い果たされると、前記電力変換器(1060)に電力を提供するために前記バックアップ電池(1070)を接続する接続信号を送信させる
命令を更に含む、請求項11に記載の記憶装置。 - 実行されると、前記コントローラに、
十分に充電された主電池(1010)が前記携帯型電子装置に挿入されているかどうかを判定するために前記携帯型電子装置をモニタさせ、前記十分に充電された主電池(1010)が取り付けられると、前記コントローラ(1075)に検出信号を送信させると共に、
前記十分に充電された主電池(1010)が前記携帯型電子装置に挿入されると、前記主電池を接続する主電池接続信号を送信させ、前記電力変換器(1060)への電力の提供から前記バックアップ電池を開放するバックアップ電池(1070)接続信号を送信させる
命令を更に含む、請求項12に記載の記憶装置。 - 前記携帯型電子装置がインスリンポンプである、請求項11〜13のいずれか一項に記載の記憶装置。
