Claims (41)
- 携帯型電子装置にバックアップ電力を提供する方法であって、
一次電池の電池レベルをモニタするステップと、
前記一次電池の前記電池レベルが低電池閾値電圧未満である場合、前記一次電池を開放させる第1の信号を生成するステップと、
前記バックアップ電池に前記携帯型電子装置のための電力を提供させる第2の信号を生成するステップであって、前記バックアップ電池が、所定の最少時間の間、前記携帯型電子装置を動作させるための電力を提供するステップと
を含む方法。 - 前記バックアップ電池が、前記携帯型電子装置を全機能で動作させることができる電力を提供する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の信号および前記第2の信号が実質的に同時に生成される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記低電池閾値電圧が1.0ボルトより低い、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記低電池閾値電圧が0.8ボルトより低い、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記電池レベルおよび前記低電池閾値の両方が、前記一次電池によって供給されている電流の値である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記携帯型電子装置がインスリンポンプである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 携帯型電子装置に電力を提供する方法であって、
主電池が前記携帯型電子装置に挿入されたかどうかを検出し、前記主電池が検出されると、検出信号をコントローラに送信するステップと、
前記主電池が検出されると、前記主電池からの電圧を電力変換器に結合するステップと、
コントローラに動作電圧を提供するステップであって、前記電力変換器が前記電圧を受け取った後に前記動作電圧が前記電力変換器から提供されるステップと、
前記コントローラから送信される信号を利用してバックアップ電池を充電するステップと、
前記バックアップ電池が充電レベルに到達したかどうかを判定するために前記バックアップ電池の電池レベルをモニタするステップと、
前記バックアップ電池の前記充電レベルを超えると、前記バックアップ電池の充電を停止するステップと
を含む方法。 - 前記主電池が主電池低閾値電圧未満まで使い果たされたかどうかを判定するために前記主電池の電池レベルをモニタするステップをさらに含む、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記主電池が前記主電池低閾値電圧未満まで使い果たされると、前記主電池を前記電力変換器への前記電圧の結合から開放する開放信号を送信するステップをさらに含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記主電池が閾値主電池レベル未満まで使い果たされると、前記電力変換器に電力を提供するために前記バックアップ電池を接続する接続信号を送信するステップをさらに含む、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記主電池と前記電力変換器の間にコンデンサが結合され、前記コンデンサが前記主電池から電圧を受け取り、前記電圧を前記電力変換器に提供する、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 十分に充電された主電池が前記携帯型電子装置に挿入されているかどうかを判定するために前記携帯型電子装置をモニタし、前記十分に充電された主電池が取り付けられると、前記コントローラに検出信号を送信するステップをさらに含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記十分に充電された主電池が前記携帯型電子装置に挿入されると、前記主電池を接続する主電池接続信号を送信し、前記電力変換器への電力の提供から前記バックアップ電池を開放するバックアップ電池接続信号を送信するステップをさらに含む、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記バックアップ電池の充電レベルを測定し、前記充電レベルが許容可能閾値未満である場合、前記バックアップ電池を充電するために、前記バックアップ電池のレベルを前記コントローラがチェックするステップをさらに含む、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記携帯型電子装置がインスリンポンプである、請求項8に記載の方法。
- プログラムコード記憶装置と、
前記プログラムコード記憶装置に記憶された機械可読プログラムであって、前記機械可読プログラムコードが、実行されると、コントローラが、
主電池から電池検出信号を受け取り、
主電池電圧読値を受け取り、
前記主電池電圧読値と主電池低電圧閾値を比較し、
前記コントローラへの電力の提供から前記主電池を開放する主電池開放信号をスイッチングデバイスに送信し、
前記コントローラに電力を提供するために、前記バックアップ電池を接続するバックアップ電池接続信号をスイッチングデバイスに送信する
命令を有する機械可読プログラムと
を備えたプログラムコード記憶装置。 - 実行されると、前記コントローラが携帯型電子装置のディスプレイに、前記バックアップ電池が前記携帯型電子装置に電力を提供することができる最少時間を示すメッセージを送信する命令を備えた、請求項17に記載のプログラムコード記憶装置。
- 実行されると、前記電池検出信号を受け取ると、前記主電池電圧読値を要求する信号を主電池検出回路に送信する命令を備えた、請求項17に記載のプログラムコード記憶装置。
- プログラムコード記憶媒体と、
前記プログラムコード記憶媒体に記憶された機械可読プログラムコードであって、前記機械可読プログラムコードが、実行されると、コントローラが、
主電池が形態型電子装置の電力供給回路内に存在していることを示す電池検出信号を受け取り、
バックアップ電池の動作レベルを受け取り、
前記動作レベルがバックアップ電池充電閾値未満である場合、バックアップ電池を充電する信号をバックアップ電池充電回路に送信し、
前記バックアップ電池の充電レベルを受け取り、
前記バックアップ電池の前記充電レベルが前記充電閾値を超えている場合、充電機構に前記信号を送信することをやめる
命令を備えた機械可読プログラムコードと
を備えたプログラムコード記憶装置。 - 実行されると、前記コントローラが、主電池電圧読値を受け取り、前記主電池電圧読値と主電池閾値電圧を比較する命令を含む、請求項20に記載のプログラムコード記憶装置。
- 実行されると、前記コントローラが主電池開放信号を送信して、前記主電池にマイクロコントローラへの電力の提供を停止させ、また、バックアップ電池接続信号を送信して、前記バックアップ電池に前記マイクロコントローラに電力を提供させる命令を備えた、請求項21に記載のプログラムコード記憶装置。
- 主電圧を提供するための主電池と、
前記主電圧を受け取り、前記主電圧を少なくとも1つの動作電圧まで高めるための変換器と、
バックアップ電圧を提供するためのバックアップ電池と、
前記変換器から前記動作電圧を受け取り、前記主電池の電圧レベルをモニタし、前記モニタした前記主電池の電圧レベルと主電池低電圧閾値を比較し、前記モニタした電圧レベルが前記主電池低電圧閾値以下である場合、前記主電池による前記変換器への前記主電圧の提供を防止する開放信号を送信し、所定の時間の間、前記バックアップ電池に前記変換器にバックアップ電圧を提供させる接続信号を前記バックアップ電池に送信するコントローラと
を備えた、携帯型電子装置のための電力供給サブアセンブリ。 - 前記開放信号を受け取った後、前記主電池を基準接地から開放するためのスイッチングデバイスをさらに備えた、請求項23に記載の電力供給サブアセンブリ。
- 前記主電池と前記変換器の間にコンデンサが結合され、前記コンデンサが前記主電池によって充電され、前記コンデンサが、より平滑な主電圧を前記変換器に提供する、請求項23に記載の電力供給サブアセンブリ。
- 前記コントローラが前記バックアップ電池の動作レベルを受け取り、前記バックアップ電池の前記動作レベルが充電閾値未満である場合、バックアップ電池を充電する信号を充電デバイスに送信する、請求項23に記載の電力供給サブアセンブリ。
- 前記コントローラが前記バックアップ電池の充電レベルをモニタし、前記バックアップ電池の前記充電レベルが前記充電閾値を超えている場合、前記充電デバイスへの前記信号の送信を停止する、請求項26に記載の電力供給サブアセンブリ。
- 前記主電池低電圧閾値が1.0ボルト未満である、請求項23に記載の電力供給サブアセンブリ。
- 前記主電池低電圧閾値が0.8ボルト未満である、請求項23に記載の電力サブアセンブリ。
- 前記携帯型電子装置が、蓄電池、リチウム電池またはアルカリ電池を利用することができる、請求項23に記載の電力供給サブアセンブリ。
- 前記主電池が低電圧閾値に到達する前に、前記主電池エネルギーの少なくとも95%が利用される、請求項23に記載の電力供給サブアセンブリ。
- 前記変換器が、ポンプ、ディスプレイおよび前記コントローラではない第2のプロセッサに他の動作電圧を提供する、請求項23に記載の電力供給サブアセンブリ。
- 前記携帯型電子装置がインスリンポンプである、請求項23に記載の電力供給サブアセンブリ。
- ユーザにメッセージを提供するディスプレイと、
電力供給サブアセンブリであって、
主電圧を提供するための主電池と、
バックアップ電圧を提供するためのバックアップ電池と、
前記主電池または前記バックアップ電池のいずれかに結合された、前記主電池および前記バックアップ電池の両方に結合することができるコンデンサであって、前記主電圧または前記バックアップ電圧のいずれかを受け取り、受け取った前記電圧を転送するコンデンサと、
前記受け取った電圧を前記コンデンサから受け取り、少なくとも1つの動作電圧を生成する変換器と、
前記変換器から前記少なくとも1つの動作電圧を受け取り、前記主電池の前記主電圧をモニタし、前記モニタした前記主電池のレベルと主電池低電圧閾値を比較し、前記モニタした前記主電池のレベルが前記主電池低電圧閾値以下である場合、前記主電池からの前記主電圧が前記コンデンサに結合されるのを防止する開放信号を送信するコントローラと
を備えた電力供給サブアセンブリと
を備えた携帯型電子装置。 - 前記モニタした前記主電池のレベルが前記主電池低電圧閾値以下である場合、前記コントローラが、前記バックアップ電池からの前記バックアップ電圧を前記コンデンサに結合する接続信号をさらに送信する、請求項34に記載の携帯型電子装置。
- 前記変換器が前記ディスプレイのための動作電圧を提供する、請求項35に記載の携帯型電子装置。
- 前記主電池が、家庭用電流によって充電することができる取外し可能蓄電池であってもよい、請求項35に記載の携帯型電子装置。
- 前記主電池低電圧閾値が1.0ボルト未満である、請求項34に記載の携帯型電子装置。
- 前記主電池低電圧閾値が0.8ボルト未満である、請求項34に記載の携帯型電子装置。
- 前記主電池が低電圧閾値に到達する前に、前記主電池エネルギーの少なくとも95%が利用される、請求項34に記載の携帯型電子装置。
- 前記携帯型電子装置がインスリンポンプである、請求項34に記載の携帯型電子装置。
