Description
本願は、2006年4月3日に出願され、「繊維構造の末端ほつれ解決策(“END FRAY
SOLUTION FOR TEXTILE STRUCTURE”)」と題され、その全体が引用によりこの明細書中に援用されている米国仮特許出願連続番号第60/788,822号の利益を主張する。
1.発明の分野
この発明は、繊維構造の末端のほつれを制限することに関する。
繊維構造が所望の大きさに切断される場合、当該繊維構造の末端がほつれるおそれがある。この問題を克服するために、当該繊維構造の当該末端を、乾燥され固化される粘性材料に浸すことができる。当該繊維構造の当該末端を、溶融させて、ほつれの可能性を低減することもできる。
第1の端部と第2の端部との間に長さ方向に延びる織物を含む装置。当該織物はまた、当該長さ方向と交差する線方向に延びる。当該線方向は、幅方向または周方向であり得る。当該装置はまた、第1の端部に隣接して第1の端部におけるほつれを制限する第1の接着部を含む。当該装置はまた、当該長さ方向に沿って第1の接着部から間隔をおいて置かれて第1の端部におけるほつれを制限する第2の接着部を含む。
この発明の複数のさまざまな実施例が本願の図面に示される。この発明のさまざまな実施例には類似する特徴が示されている。類似する特徴には共通の参照番号が付けられており、アルファベット記号で区別されている。また、当該特徴がすべての実施例に示されていないとしても、整合性を高めるために、いずれの特定の図面における特徴も同じアルファベット記号を共有する。類似する特徴は、図面またはこの明細書によって示されていない限り、同様に構成され、同様に作用し、および/または同じ機能を有する。さらに、一実施例の特定の特徴は、図面またはこの明細書によって示されていない限り、別の実施例における対応する特徴と置き換えることができる。
接着部16から間隔をおいて置かれた、第2の接着部18も含む。第2の接着部18も、第1の端部12におけるほつれを制限する。第1の接着部16および第2の接着部18は、織物10の周囲に満たない長さ延びる。言い換えれば、この発明の第1の実施例においては、前記第1の接着部16と前記第2の接着部18のいずれも、織物10の当該周方向全体にわたっては延びていない。
Claims (6)
- 織物構造(10;10a;10b)であって、
第1の端部(12)と第2の端部との間に長さ方向に延びるとともに、幅方向および周方向のいずれか1つである、前記長さ方向と交差する線方向に延び、
前記第1の端部(12)に隣接して配置されて前記第1の端部におけるほつれを制限する第1の接着部(16;16a;16b)を有し、前記第1の接着部は、前記交差する線方向に沿って延びる、織り合された繊維同士が互いに接着された接着繊維からなる、不連続で細長い複数の第1の下位部(20,22,24,26,28,30,32,34)を含み、前記第1の下位部(20,22,24,26,28,30,32,34)の各々は、織り合された繊維同士が互いに接着されていない複数の第1の非接着繊維部によって、前記交差する線方向に沿って互いに間隔をおいて置かれており、
前記長さ方向に沿って前記第1の接着部(16;16a;16b)と間隔をおいて置かれて前記第1の端部におけるほつれを制限する第2の接着部(18;18a;18b)をさらに有し、前記第2の接着部は、前記交差する線方向に沿って長さ方向に延びる、織り合された繊維同士が互いに接着された接着繊維からなる、不連続で細長い複数の第2の下位部(36,38,40,42,44,46,48,50)を含み、前記第2の下位部の各々は、織り合された繊維同士が互いに接着されていない複数の第2の非接着繊維部によって、前記交差する線方向に沿って互いに間隔をおいて置かれており、
前記第1の下位部(20,22,24,26,28,30,32,34)および前記第2の下位部(36,38,40,42,44,46,48,50)の各々は、前記織物構造の前記交差する線方向に沿って互いに間隔をおいて置かれていることを特徴とする、織物構造。 - 前記交差する線方向が周方向である、軸を取り囲むスリーブとして形成されており、前記軸の周りで周方向に互いに間隔をおいて置かれた前記第1の接着部(16;16a)および前記第2の接着部(18;18a)を有する、請求項1に記載の織物構造(10;10a)。
- 前記交差する線方向が幅方向である、平坦な織物として形成されており、前記幅方向に沿って互いに間隔をおいて置かれた前記第1の接着部(16b)および前記第2の接着部(18b)を有する、請求項1に記載の織物構造(10b)。
- 前記第1の接着部(16;16a;16b)および前記第2の接着部(18;18a;18b)のうちの少なくとも1つは、織物を融解させた部分である、請求項1に記載の織物構造。
- 前記第1の接着部および前記第2の接着部の両方は、織物を融解させた部分である、請求項4に記載の織物構造。
- 2つの異なる材料を含み、前記第1の接着部および前記第2の接着部は、ともに溶解された前記2つの異なる材料の混紡体から形成されたアロイを規定する、請求項1に記載の織物構造。
