Description
封止材は、実施例では珪藻土とガラス繊維の混合物を主材とし、これに無機バインダー・有機バインダー混合物を配合比92:8で混合したものを用い、比較例では従来使用している耐火セメントを用いた。
溶鋼温度は1550℃、測定・サンプリングのための浸漬時間は約10秒であり、その他、いずれも同じ条件で行った。
図3(a),(b)はそれぞれ実施例、比較例の測定・サンプリング後の残骸の先端部写真である。図3から分かるように、比較例では先端部に溶鋼が付着しているのに対し、実施例では溶鋼の付着を防止することができた。このことから、実施例で用いた封止材が溶鋼凝固物の生成を防止する点で有効であることが確認できた。従来品である比較例では、プローブ先端部の封止材による抜熱で溶鋼の凝固物が生成してくる。このため、測温センサーが凝固、溶解の影響を受け、溶鋼温度の測定を妨げる要因となる。これに対し、実施例では、先端部の封止材として、耐火セメントに対して10分の1程度の熱伝導率の耐火物(珪藻土)を使用(耐火セメントの熱伝導率が1.5〜0.9W/m・Kであるのに対し、珪藻土の熱伝導率は0.1〜0.07W/m・K)した。この為、先端部の封止材から溶鋼が奪われる熱量が小さくなり、実施例では比較例のような凝固物が先端部に付着しにくい。、その結果、溶鋼温度の測定を妨げることなく正確な測定を行うことができ、またサンプルの取り出しにも何ら支障をきたさないことが明らかとなった。比較例では、封止材の熱伝導率が高いため溶鋼から供給される熱量より耐火セメント表面から奪われる熱量の方が大きくなる為、先端に凝固物が付着するのに対し、実施例では、熱伝導率が低いため耐火物表面から奪われる熱量が小さく、凝固物の生成が防止されるのである。

Claims (1)
- 筒状本体の先端部に、測温センサー、ピンサンプラー及び酸素センサーのうち少なくとも一つを設けた状態で、該先端部を封止材により封止してなる、溶鋼に浸漬して測温・サンプリングを行うための溶融金属測定用プローブであって、前記封止材として低熱伝導率の耐火物を用い、該耐火物として、熱伝導率0.4〜0.03W/m・Kの珪藻土、ガラス繊維又はこれらの混合物に、有機バインダー又は無機バインダーを混合したものを用いてなることを特徴とする溶融金属測定用プローブ。
