Description
−『骨セメント、骨充填材料、充填材料、あるいは、充填化合物』とは、その通常の意味を含み、骨を充填するための任意の材料として定義される。このような材料は、インサイテュで硬化可能な材料を含むことができ、また、硬化性材料と一緒に注入され得る材料を含むことができる。充填材料は、また、フィラメント(filaments)、マイクロスフィア(microspheres)、粉末、粒状要素、フレーク、チップ、細管など、自家移植片または同種移植片材料と、他の化学物質、薬剤、あるいは、は他の生体活性剤といったような、他の『フィラー』を含有することができる。
−『流動可能な材料』とは、その通常の意味を含み、回収可能な変形で剪断応力に応じる弾性材料またはエラストマーとは異なり、静的剪断応力に耐えることが不可能であり、回収不能な流れ(流体)に反応する材料連続体として定義される。流動可能な材料は、流体成分(第1成分)と、第1および第2の成分の性状に関わらず、流れることによって応力に反応する弾性または非弾性材料成分(第2成分)と、を含み、上記剪断試験は第2成分だけに対してのみでは適用されない。
−『実質的に』または『実質的』とは、大部分を意味するが、全部ではない。例えば、実質的にという用語は、約50%〜約99.999%、あるいは、約80%〜約99.999%、あるいは、約90%〜約99.999%、を意味することができる。
−『椎体形成術』とは、その通常の意味を含み、脊椎骨の内部へと充填材料が供給される任意の手術を意味する。

Claims (15)
- 骨内へと骨充填材料を供給するためのシステムであって、
基端部の導入口から先端部の導出口までにわたって内部を貫通して延在する流通チャネルを有したハンドルボディと;
前記流通チャネルの外周縁回りに配置された状態で前記ハンドルボディ内に配置された熱エネルギーエミッタであるとともに、前記流通チャネルを流れる骨充填材料の流れに対してエネルギーを印加し得るように構成された、熱エネルギーエミッタと;
前記ハンドルボディの前記導入口に対して着脱可能に連結可能とされた骨充填材料供給源であるとともに、前記流通チャネルに対して骨充填材料を供給し得るよう構成された骨充填材料供給源と;
長尺形状の注入器であるとともに、この注入器の少なくとも一部が、骨内へと経皮的に挿入可能とされ、この注入器が、前記ハンドルボディの前記導出口に対して着脱可能に連結可能とされ、この連結により、この注入器の貫通穴が、前記流通チャネルに対して連通するものとされ、この注入器が、この注入器の先端部において開口した導出開口にまで内部を通して骨充填材料の流通させ得るように構成されている、注入器と;
を具備していることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項1記載のシステムにおいて、
前記熱エネルギーエミッタが、抵抗ヒータと、正の温度係数を有した材料(PTCR)からなる定温ヒータと、LEDエミッタと、光ファイバーエミッタと、光チャネルと、超音波振動子と、電極と、アンテナと、のうちの少なくとも1つを備えていることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項1記載のシステムにおいて、
