Claims (9)
- 陽極と、陰極と、前記陽極と前記陰極との間に設けられた発光層と、前記発光層の陰極側に接して設けられたホールブロック層と、を有し、
前記ホールブロック層は、前記発光層を構成する材料のうち最もイオン化ポテンシャルが大きい材料のイオン化ポテンシャルより大きいイオン化ポテンシャルを有するホールブロック材料と、前記ホールブロック材料とは異なる一種類、または複数種類の材料と、からなり、
前記ホールブロック材料とは異なる前記材料はn型有機半導体であり、前記n型有機半導体の最高被占分子軌道準位と最低空分子軌道準位とのエネルギーギャップの値が、前記発光層を構成する材料のうち最も最高被占分子軌道準位と最低空分子軌道準位とのエネルギーギャップの値が大きい材料のエネルギーギャップの値よりも大きいことを特徴とする発光素子。 - 請求項1において、
前記ホールブロック材料は、OXD−7、TAZ、p−EtTAZ、BPhen、BCPのいずれか一であることを特徴とする発光素子。 - 請求項1又は2において、
前記ホールブロック材料のイオン化ポテンシャルの値が、前記発光層を構成する材料のうち最もイオン化ポテンシャルが大きい材料のイオン化ポテンシャルの値よりも0.4eV以上大きいことを特徴とする発光素子。 - 請求項1乃至3のいずれか一において、
前記ホールブロック材料のイオン化ポテンシャルの値が5.8eV以上であることを特徴とする発光素子。 - 請求項1乃至4のいずれか一において、
前記発光層は三重項発光材料を含むことを特徴とする発光素子。 - 請求項5において、
前記三重項発光材料はイリジウムを中心金属とする錯体であることを特徴とする発光素子。 - 請求項1乃至6のいずれか一に記載の発光素子を用いた発光装置。
- 請求項7に記載の発光装置を用いた電気器具。
- 請求項8に記載の電気器具は、ビデオカメラ、デジタルカメラ、ゴーグル型ディスプレイ、ナビゲーションシステム、音響再生装置、ノート型パーソナルコンピュータ、ゲーム機器、携帯情報端末、及び記録媒体を備えた画像再生装置のいずれか一である電気器具。
