試験は、オフセットプリンタープレートの汚れおよび/または付着した基体からの付着物のため、オフセットプリンタープレートを取り替えたり、きれいにしなければならなくなる前に、どれくらい多くの標準ロールがプレスを通過するかを見るものである。この試験を用いて、本発明の基体を、標準ロールに置いたとき、オフセットプリンタープレートの汚れおよび/または付着した基体からの付着物のため、オフセットプリンタープレートを取り替えたり、きれいにしなければならなくなる前に、本発明の基体は標準ロールの半分より多く、好ましくは1つの標準ロールより多く、より好ましくは少なくとも2つの標準ロール、最も好ましくは少なくとも3つの標準ロールの間、走行しうる。従来の基体は、上記の方法により試験すると、オフセットプリンタープレートの汚れおよび/または付着した基体からの付着物のため、オフセットプリンタープレートを取り替えたり、きれいにしなければならなくなる前に、標準ロールの半分より多く、通常は1ロールより多くの間、走行することはできない。
(A)サイズプレス組成物の製造
次の手順を用いて一連のサイズプレス組成物を製造した。組成物は低せん断ミキサーを使用して実験室で製造した。特定量の予備処理を行なった(pre-cooked)デンプン、次にBubond60またはLeucophor FTS染料固着剤、次いで残りの水で希釈した架橋剤を適当なせん断作用の下で混合容器へ加えた。望ましい固形分は、サイズプレス処理粘度および望ましい付着量に対するシステムの許容度により14〜16%である。組成および詳細は次の表1に示す。
どのようなサイズプレスも行われておらず、基本重量が約75g/m2のペンサコ−ラミル、ペーパーマシーンP5で製造された原紙をこの試験に用いた。HST値は約1秒であった。原紙は実験室規模のパドルサイズプレスを使用して表1のコーティング組成物で被覆した。被覆配合物の塗布には、紙基体の12”(インチ)幅ロールを2つのローラーの間に連続供給し、被覆配合物はニップ溜めに送り、紙は所定の速度でニップ溜めを通して供給した。配合物の固形分、ニップ圧およびサイズプレス運転速度を調節することによって、表1に示す望ましい付着重量が得られた。量は?の単位で示す。

Claims (12)
- サイジングまたはコーティング組成物であって、
組成物中の固形分の総重量に基づいて85〜98重量%の量の、デンプンおよびポリビニルアルコールよりなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の結合剤;
組成物中の結合剤の総重量に基づいて0.5〜10重量%の量の、ポリアミン、ポリエンイミン、および蛍光増白剤:窒素含有化合物複合体よりなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の染料固着剤;および
組成物中の結合剤の総重量に基づいて0.25〜5重量%の量の、グリオキサールおよびブロックされたグリオキサールよりなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の架橋剤;
を含む、上記のサイジングまたはコーティング組成物。 - 少なくとも1種の顔料をさらに含む、請求項1に記載のサイジングまたはコーティング組成物。
- 少なくとも1種の無機塩をさらに含む、請求項1に記載のサイジングまたはコーティング組成物。
- 請求項1に記載の組成物を含む、紙基体。
- DL%によって測定される基体の耐水堅牢度が−10〜15となるのに有効な量の該組成物を含む、請求項4に記載の紙基体。
- DL%によって測定される基体の耐水堅牢度が−5〜55となるのに有効な量の該組成物を含む、請求項4に記載の紙基体。
- テーバー磨耗試験によって測定される基体の表面強度が60mg/1000回転未満となるのに有効な量の該組成物を含む、請求項4に記載の紙基体。
- テーバー磨耗試験によって測定される基体の表面強度が50mg/1000回転未満となるのに有効な量の該組成物を含む、請求項4に記載の紙基体。
- テーバー磨耗試験によって測定される基体の表面強度が40mg/1000回転未満となるのに有効な量の該組成物を含む、請求項4に記載の紙基体。
- 幅36インチ、直径50インチであり、そして3インチのコアを有するロールのとき、基体がロールの全長の半分を越える間、連続的に走行するのに有効な量の該組成物を含む、請求項4に記載の紙基体。
