図1は、本発明の第1の実施の形態に係る面状照明装置を背面から見た概略構成図である。図2は、図1のIIの方向から見た面状照明装置の主要部の側面の構成の模式図である。

Claims (13)
- レーザ光を出射するレーザ光源と、
前記レーザ光を入射させるための入射面と、前記レーザ光を面状の出射光として出射させるための主面とを有する導光板と、
前記導光板の入射面に前記レーザ光を導くための入射範囲と、前記入射面の長手方向における前記入射範囲の外側に設定された外側範囲とを含む照射範囲内に、前記レーザ光源からのレーザ光を照射することが可能な照射部材と、
前記照射部材からのレーザ光のうち、前記外側範囲内のレーザ光を前記入射面に導くことが可能な案内部材とを備え、
前記入射面の少なくとも一部に対し、前記照射部材からのレーザ光と前記案内部材からのレーザ光とがそれぞれ導かれることを特徴とする面状照明装置。 - 前記案内部材は、前記入射面の長手方向の両端部からそれぞれ前記照射部材側に延びる反射ミラーを備えていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の面状照明装置。
- 前記入射面から前記各反射ミラーの先端部までの長さ寸法は、それぞれ異なる寸法に設定されていることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の面状照明装置。
- 前記案内部材は、前記照射部材からのレーザ光を屈折させるための屈折部材を有することを特徴とする請求項1〜3の何れか1項に記載の面状照明装置。
- 前記屈折部材は、前記照射部材の入射範囲に対応して配置される中央部領域と、前記中央部領域を除く両側部領域とを有するレンズからなり、
前記中央部領域のレンズ特性と前記両側部領域のレンズ特性とが異なることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の面状照明装置。 - 前記屈折部材を複数個備え、
前記各屈折部材は、前記照射部材からのレーザ光のうち、前記入射範囲内のレーザ光の少なくとも一部を通過させることが可能な間隔を空けて配置されていることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の面状照明装置。 - 前記屈折部材には、前記照射部材からのレーザ光のうち、前記入射範囲内のレーザ光の少なくとも一部を通過させるための通過部が形成され、
前記通過部は、レンズパワー0の透明部材により構成されていることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の面状照明装置。 - 前記案内部材は、前記入射面の長手方向の両端部から照射部材側に延びる反射ミラーと、前記照射部材からのレーザ光を屈折させるための屈折部材とを有し、
前記屈折部材には、前記照射部材からのレーザ光のうち、前記外側範囲内のレーザ光の少なくとも一部を前記入射面に屈折させるための屈折部と、前記照射部材からのレーザ光の少なくとも一部を通過させるための通過部とが形成され、
前記反射ミラーは、前記屈折部材の通過部を通過したレーザ光のうち、前記外側範囲内のレーザ光を前記入射面に反射させることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の面状照明装置。 - 前記屈折部材と前記導光板の入射面との距離を調節するための調節機構をさらに備えていることを特徴とする請求項4〜8の何れか1項に記載の面状照明装置。
- 前記屈折部材は、シリンドリカルレンズまたはシリンドリカルフレネルレンズからなることを特徴とする請求項4〜9の何れか1項に記載の面状照明装置。
- 前記導光板の主面から出射されるレーザ光の輝度について、前記入射面の長手方向における最高の輝度が、最低の輝度の1.2倍以上、1.4倍以下であることを特徴とする請求項1〜10の何れか1項に記載の面状照明装置。
- 前記レーザ光源は、少なくとも赤色、緑色及び青色のレーザ光を出射する光源を有することを特徴とする請求項1〜11の何れか1項に記載の面状照明装置。
- 液晶表示パネルと、
前記液晶表示パネルをパネル背面側から照明するバックライト照明装置とを備え、
前記バックライト照明装置は、請求項1〜12の何れか1項に記載の面状照明装置からなることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
