Description
酵素電極の作製に当たっては、まず酸化アルミニウム(「アエロジル」;デグサ社製)、白金担持炭素(「IFPC40−II」;石福金属興業製)を、それぞれ添加割合を変えて総量60mgとなるように採取し、十分に混合して混合粉体とした。次いで、混合粉体に1250U/mLのGDH溶液を1000μL添加した後に混合し混合溶液を調製した。さらに、混合溶液を6時間静置することで白金担持炭素にGDHを予備吸着させた後に遠心分離してから上澄みを除去した。上澄み除去後のスラリーは、真空乾燥により粉体状とし、その粉体に流動パラフィンを100μL添加し、よく混合してペースト状とした。このペーストを、直径3φのペースト電極作製用ベース電極(ビー・エー・エス社製)に詰め込み、ジュランコンロッドにて厚みが2mmとなるように圧縮し、電極とした。
抵抗値の測定は、デジタルテスタにて、コネクター部とGDH白金担持炭素酵素電極における3φ中央部の間の抵抗として測定した。抵抗値の測定は、環境温度は25℃とした大気解放雰囲気で行った。抵抗値の測定結果については、表1に示した。表1かわ分かるように、酸化アルミニウム(アエロジル)の組成によって、30Ωから200kΩという広範囲で、抵抗をコントロールできることがわかる。
酸化アルミニウム(アエロジル)を添加していない酵素電極を用いた電池では、電圧0.26Vで、電流密度30μA/cm2という大きい電流が取り出された。開回路でのアノードとカソード間の電位差は0.46Vであり、比較的高い電圧が得られた。この事実は、グルコースを燃料とした生物燃料電池が構成されていることを示している。
Claims (12)
- 粒子サイズが3〜150nmの範囲の炭素粒子と、上記炭素粒子に担持され、かつ酸化還元反応に対する触媒活性を有する金属粒子と、酸化還元酵素と、を含む酵素電極であって、
電気抵抗を高めるためのものであり、かつ化学的に安定な粒子サイズが3〜150nmの範囲の高電気抵抗粒子をさらに含んでおり、上記高電気抵抗粒子は酸化アルミニウムを含んでいる、酵素電極。 - 上記金属粒子は、貴金属を含んでいる、請求項1に記載の酵素電極。
- 上記貴金属は、白金(Pt)、ロジウム(Rh)、金(Au)、銀(Ag)、パラジウム(Pd)、ルテニウム(Ru)、イリジウム(Ir)、およびオスミウム(Os)からなる群より選択される少なくとも1つである、請求項2に記載の酵素電極。
- 上記貴金属は、白金(Pt)である、請求項3に記載の酵素電極。
- 上記金属粒子は、1〜4nmの範囲の粒子サイズを有している、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の酵素電極。
